Rebecca Black’s Quick Road to Fame
As everybody knows Rebecca Black holds the record for having one of the worst songs ever. “Friday” her first hit single had a record of a million plus hits on YouTube. Many say the way the song was written was terrible. Many of the critics have made fun of her voice. Black has been holding the highest record of views and listens of a song for nine weeks. Black had a million plus dislikes on YouTube compared to 225,000 of likes (on the date of March 31st). Black had passed Justin Bieber’s single “Baby” on ITunes on April 1, 2011. Only at the age of 13 Rebecca Black has become a quick instant star on the Internet. It has been said that her parents had a lot to contribute to her success. Her parents had paid a producer to direct the song video and a writer to write the song. My type of music she sings is a new type of pop music. The emotions evoked of the song is real simple it is about a thirteen year old girl that talks about her Friday and how fun it can be. The first couple of lines are the start of the disaster for the song she sings “Seven a.m., waking up in the morning ,Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs” from then on the song is history. I somewhat agree with the critics the song is really on the lowest level of greatness but I do give Rebecca Black and the whole recording label for the effort and hard work they put in. Rebecca Black is a artist that is young and has future in comedy music which I believe she will do well in.
