I really liked the movie ride along because of the humorous comedy. Kevin Hart is one of my favorite actors which made this movie an easy pick. Ice Cube was also in ride along and plays a tough guy police officer. Kevin Hart is trying to win Ice Cube’s say so he can marry his Sister, but Ice Cube hates Kevin Hart and finds him very annoying so he decides to take him on a ride along because he wants to become a cop. He thinks he will make him change his mind about being a cop by showing him all the boring jobs that he usually doesn’t go on. Kevin Hart finds out that Ice Cube is trying to fool him so Kevin starts playing the game back but what he doesn’t know is that he is walking into a huge gun cartel gang that is actually real and thinks it’s all fake. This movie has lots of funny lines, but is somewhat serious and has some romance in a silly way. Ice Cube sneaks in to Kevin’s house and catches him and his girlfriend getting a little dirty and scares Kevin and he starts to run and knocks himself out on an end table. I just thought that this movie was well put together and lots of thought behind it. They had chosen a lot of my favorite actors for this movie which makes it so easy to watch and enjoy. Kevin appears to start winning Ice Cubes blessing and respect throughout the movie even though he’s a goof ball, he sees that he tree’s his sister with respect and really loves her. He was worried he wouldn’t be able to protect her but that might change by the end of the movie! I don’t want to ruin the ending for you so you’ll have to see what happens with the gun cartel!

The Hangover is a 2009 movie about four friends who are celebrating their friend’s marriage. They all plan on going to Las Vegas to celebrate Doug Billings’ wedding. While in Vegas Doug, Stew, Alan and Phil make a pack on the roof of their hotel, talking about how this will be a night they will never forget. While the time passes, they wake up the next morning with Doug missing and other numerous problems. During this time, they try to search for Doug before his wedding starts. One of the actors name Zack Galifianakis who plays Alan in the movie is very wild and makes the movie more funny and interesting with his funny antics and his humorous statements. To me, Zach Galifianakis performance was amazing and also the best character to watch in the movie. Another actor named Ken Jeong, who plays Leslie Chow in the film, is another interesting character in the movie. His performance as a flamboyant Asian gangster brings thrills and also humor to the movie. His performance in the movie to me was a ten out of ten. The theme in the movie is about when having too much fun, we can go on the wrong path and the movie is about long lasting friendships. In the movie, they thought a night out in Vegas would be a great night, but it lead to a lot of trouble and stress for everyone. Whether it was losing Doug or not getting married the movie was pretty exciting. Stew, Alan and Phil looked all over to find Doug before it was too late, and Doug’s wife began panicking because she didn’t think the guys were going to make it back before the wedding started. As friends, they all came together as one before the wedding had started and also left as close friends after the wedding was over. According to the critics review Roger Ebert states the movie was funny all the way through do agree what Roger Ebert says about the film about it being funny until the end. I do recommend this film to anyone who wants to laugh a lot while watching a film with your friends and family. The hangover is worth your time and money.

Today I’m going to blog about a great movie called Taken and I guess you could say this movies whole story plot in one scents. Taken is about his daughter being taken in a florin country. Now that you know the jest of the story now we can dive right in to it dissecting the movie. The movie starts off by husden an wife start off the move already devorested and they have a daughter they share custody of can the movie goes on like a normal everyday life. THEN one day the daughter asks her mom if she can go to a concert. Her dad is very protective of his daughter and does not want her to hurt like any other father. Since the mother an child knows the father will not let her go to the band concert in England. Mother tells the father he has to sing a slip to let her leave the country, they tell the father she’s going to visit museum’s so ok the father says sure you can go visit museums with your best friend for a weekend. We are going to fast forward a little bit. As the father was bringing the bags in for the girls he found the concert tickets in the girls bags an found out what they were really going to England to follow a bad on tour. To late they were already at the airport. HE gave the standards for when they tuck down in England. They called for a cab at the airport and a random guy asked if they wanted to share cab with them know teens they want to save every dollar so they said yes. Now the guy that is sharing a cab with them knows where they live on top of that the girls gave him the floor number they were on because he invited them to a party that night. So the guys came back that knight an kidnaped them. Made them become prostitutes. The dad comes a saves them at the end. Watch the movie an you will not be disappointed in the movie. I think the move is trying to get the point a crossed it never pays off to lie people always find out in the end. Also never trust a stranger. So go watch taken my next movie blog will be about Taken 2.

I decided to review The Notebook a great movie for anyone who’s a hopeless romantic I’d say. This movie will bring tears and leave you wanting a fairytale love story of your own. The Notebook filmed and directed by Nick Cassavetes based on a novel written by Nicholas Sparks. The movie cast Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams young couple that falls in love during the early 1940’s in Seabrook Island, South Carolina. They played Noah and Allie Calhoun. The story is being narrated from Noah Calhoun in a past tense way, He is reading his entry life story he experienced with Allie Calhoun. He reads the story to his lover because she lives with Alzheimer’s in a nursing home. The pain plot of the story is a modern day nursing home and elderly man named Noah reads story from his personal notebook to Allie. Allie Calhoun was a very wealthy seventeen year old girl who would come down to Seabrook’s on summer vacation. And Noah was nothing but a lumber boy. Made enough to have a stable life. He and Allie were never ones to be. But oh did it work for them. They had the summer of their lives. But Allies parents didn’t want their daughter with Noah mainly her mother. Huge argument happening led to Allie and Noah breakup Allie leaving Seabrook. This led them both to move on with their life’s. Noah and his best friend Fin enlisted to fight in World War II. Fin was killed in battle. Allie becomes a volunteer nurse in a hospital for wounded soldiers where she meets an officer Lon Hammond, Jr. a handsome, charming man she knew her parents would except of. Allie and Lon get engaged and prepare to Mariam when Allie runs into Noah. Who remember she has not seen in ages. Allie and Noah meeting up leads them to rekindling their romance. And making her break up with Lon. I’ll leave my review where it’s at. The ending is something you’ll need to watch and review you. I highly recommend watching The Notebook.

Last weekend I went to the new Godzilla movie with my little brother and I thought it was going to be a very good. Well the movie was about a family of 3 the body family mom was Sandra, dad Joe, and son ford who live in japan or close to there and the mom and dad both work at a nuclear power plant and all so live very close to it as well and suddenly they are facing crazy earthquakes is what they think but it was something else and it destroyed most of the plant along with fords mom Sandra was killed and this leaves Joe searching for 15 years for why this happened and while ford moved on father Joe sucks him back in to find out the truth of why this happened and it only escalades from there. Aaron Taylor as ford brody I never really heard of him tell this movie but he did very well wish he could have showed a little more emotion in the movie. Another main actor was Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody Sams dad and he was great in this movie had dark edge to him and very electric I really liked this character he played. To me the theme of this movie was really first just searching for the answer why did this happen and the second theme is how are we going to stop this should nature just let play its course. “This movie is so boring I almost left the theater. Why hide the monster so much? Doesn't make sense to try to build tension hiding it, because IT'S A GIANT MONSTER. Even the battles, most of them are showed on news broadcasts on TV sets far from the camera.” This a critics review on the movie and to me I would have to agree the fighting scenes are really cool but there’s not enough of them and the buildup for these fight scenes are just too long it’s like they tried to fit too much in the time they had. My final opinion would be just wait tell it comes on dvd it’s not worth the money to go to the theater.

The Lego Movie came out February 7th 2014 in 3D. The movie is about a Lego construction worker is recruited to join in on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe. Many Actors paly the voices in this movie, a couple of my favorites are Channing Tatum (Superman voice), Jonah Hill (Green Lantern voice) and Will Ferrell (Abraham Lincoln voice). You can’t really judge how well they did because they’re not really acting there just using their voices. They use a catchy song “Everything is Awesome” that kids love, it’s more a child movie but even the critics loved it. Overall most critics say it was an amazing movie. “Everything in "The Lego Movie" is, indeed, awesome”” To be honest, my enthusiastic reaction might be slightly skewed by the fact that "Everything Is Awesome" is both the title and most insidious lyric of a catchier-than-a-Norovirus musical number whose sweeping camerawork over a Lego-sized cityscape is almost as impressive as the opening sequence” says some critics. There is a plot twist but I don’t want to give it away so you will have to spend the money to watch it, it’s defiantly worth it, in my opinion.

I am legend is a movie that is about a Police officer in Manhattan who is a lone survivor of an apocalypse set in New York. Will smith is the main character, and also one of the only characters in the movie. As the New York Times put it, Will Smith does a great job of making the movie realistic. He does this by doing a great job of acting like he’s the last man on earth. There are many different conflicts in this movie, but the biggest one is when he found another person, which hasn’t happened for over 2 years. He becomes very sad after this because in the movie it flashes back to the beginning of the movie where he lost his son and wife during the apocalypse. Will Smith then becomes hell bent on finding a cure for this disease that everyone became effected by. The movie shows the conflicts that Will Smith faces by showing his life alone in the biggest city in America, with only a dog as his best friend. The movie pulls out many sad emotions in the audience, while also keeping them on the edge of their seats waiting for more. Critics agree that the movie I Am Legend does a great job showing the theme of not knowing what you have until it’s gone. Will Smith has nothing after the apocalypse other than himself, and empty city, and his dog. I agree with the because the movie keeps the audience on their feet and makes them wonder what’s going to happen next with Will smith and his adventures on living on earth as the only remaining healthy human, and his struggle to find a cure to this disease that has plagued the world. To me this movie is definitely worth your time and money because of all the ups and downs the movie had, and all of the emotions it brought out in you when you watch it.

Ted, a movie starring; Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Seth MacFarlane are about a boy who gets a teddy bear at an early age for a present. He names his teddy bear “Ted” and wishes for him to come alive. After the beginning of the movie has taken place Ted, comes to life. Throughout the movie Ted and John (Mark Wahlberg) live together doing the craziest things, such as; partying and “living it up” as roommates. The movie is narrated as “a Christmas story”, the children’s story, giving it a serious, but childlike humor. A review I read recently had a comment in it that explained the movie as, “A comical adventure of partying”. I would have to agree with this statement as though the movie does contain various amounts of drugs and alcohol. Ted may come by as a sweet little teddy once he is introduced in the beginning of the movie, but since the movie is a comedy that sweet teddy bear you met in the beginning will soon become the biggest rebel you’ve ever met. While watching this movie the audience should give their worries and stress’s away because the events that take place in this movie will bring you places you’ve never been and their funny. The movie is worth the money, even though it isn’t in theatres anymore; I would go to the movie store and find this comical film and watch it for years. It’s a classic comedy as far as I’m concerned; there are so many surprises along the film and they will keep you laughing for minutes. In conclusion, this movie I would rate in my top 5 favorite movies, as far as the comedy, events that take place throughout the film, and actors that perform in it, are amazing.

Pitch Perfect was definitely at the pitch of best movies released in 2012. It is about a girl named Beca who is just starting college and is deeply in love with music. As she is walking around searching for clubs to join an a cappella group reach out to her, wanting her to join. She wasn’t too excited about joining but then finds it to be her inner passion. They compete against the other groups at their university and have occasional “sing offs”. Like most other films, it does have a happy ending with her a cappella group coming out victorious. The film has a very upbeat plot with lots of joyful moments that cause the audience to start singing along. Beca is played by Anna Kendrick, who does a fascinating job. There are few actresses that could have taken on such a big role like her with a great voice. In my opinion, the theme would be “to experience life to the fullest, you have to experience new things”. Beca really didn’t want to join the a cappella group but soon fell in love with it and was one of the best decisions in her life. Most of the critics writing reviews are saying that the film is very joyful. I couldn’t agree with them more. At first, reading what it’s about, you may think that it is all about a chick flick but it is actually suitable for everyone. There are a few mature rated puns and scenes but beyond that it is a film acceptable for men to watch, not just women. By the end of watching the film you probably would have remembered the lyrics to most of the songs and have started singing them to yourself. I would definitely recommend watching this movie because of the great actors and exciting plot behind it.

Not only was This is the End one of the funniest movies of 2013, but it was also very motivational. It is a comedic film with a good theme behind it. The film starts off with catastrophic events occurring because the end of the world has come and everyone is dying. It then continues with the main group of friends trying to survive off of anything because they don’t know who is dead or alive, or even what is happening to the world. They then come to the conclusion that everyone has either died for all of their bad sins or have been accepted into Heaven. Everyone in the group quickly turns their lives around and find ways of being accepted, so they all do good deeds. The main characters in the film actually use their real life names because the plot revolves around the celebrities themselves. I personally think the actors did a great job, although the movie had a couple of dull moments but overall was fantastic. Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen are the main characters. They are best friends that barely see each other anymore so they decide to hang out together with Seth’s friends. They have a bumpy road together throughout the middle of the film but then come together as one in the end. James Franco is the one who threw the huge house party with celebrities from all over including Rihanna and Emma Watson. Because of his newly renovated house, the whole group decide to stay at his house throughout the horrific events taking place everywhere throughout the world. Craig Robinson and Jonah Hill are the other two characters of the main group of friends. All together there are a series of funny scenes that occur, but no other group of actors could have played it as well as these. I highly recommend watching the movie because it is very motivational. It motivates the audience to do good deeds to get accepted into Heaven.

Anchorman was a film that wasn’t a box office success but quickly became a breakout comedy classic and is now one of Will Ferrell’s most famous role. When the studios were given the idea of a second movie, the director and cast had to fight long and hard to get someone to make the movie. Now that the film has finally released, the question is whether or not it lives up to the hype. As a fan of the first film, I would recommend other fans to head to a red box to rent some laughs since there aren’t any other films to feed your comedy hunger right now. It does with similar humor as the first one with most of the same actors as the first one that was breakout success as will best. But with some new an exciting humor added that will make rememborble hit that you will be talking about for days. Making it a case for a most see movie to watch. So if you are looking for something to do for a night go to your local red box or movie rental place and check out the movie. Almost a guaranteed laugh from the hit that’s genre is comedy and directed by Adam Mckay starring Will Ferrell, Christana Applegate, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carrell. Written by Will Ferrell and Adam Mckay. Released in the year 2013 beating out all compition in my opinion making it the comedy of the year as sequel to the first one that was a major hit with the fans. So go out and see Anchorman 2 today you will not regret it.

Perhaps the funniest movie of the year 2013 is Bad Grandpa. The movie starts out at the funeral of the grandpa’s wife. At the funeral, the grandpa’s daughter informs her dad that she will be going back to jail and that she needs him to take her son to his father. The grandpa is furious, but on the long road trips, the two have a lot of fun. The grandpa, who is Irving Kisman, is shown in a lot of MTV productions. This particular movie was produced by MTV for the series Jackass. The little kids name is Billy. Being raised during tough times for the family, Billy is not the average kid for his age. However, his grandpa is a child deep inside as well, which means they share a lot in common when it comes to immaturity. For example, Irving carries his wife’s dead body around with him during the entire car ride. And once while at a convenience store, he shoplifts food, telling his grandson that it is ok. Irving Kisman is actually Johnny Knoxville. In reality, Johnny is rather immature, perhaps even more immature than he acts in the film. The name may seem familiar, as he is a key actor for most of the Jackass videos produced by MTV. Throughout the movie, it is easy to recognize themes. One theme revolves around family. Family is family no matter what happens, so be there for them. This theme is evident in the film when Iriving returns to pick up Billy from his drunk father, who for the record only wanted Billy so he could get paid. A second theme involves the topic of life. It is human behavior to be obnoxious to people, that is until they are dead. In the movie, this is shown with the death of Irving’s wife. When she dies, he actually holds on to the body because he can’t let her go. Overall, Bad Grandpa is a great movie. But it is not exactly a movie. Rotten Tomatoes Peter Travers successfully explains that, “It's not really a movie. It's Johnny Knoxville and his Jackass crew faking out real people into believing he's 86-year-old Irving Zisman, an old fart bag traveling cross-country.” Travers is right. Bad Grandpa is just a showing of the real Johnny Knoxville with a crowd in the background. In all, Bad Grandpa is worth the extra bucks and time. You’ll definitely get tons of great laughs for what you paid for.

Saving Private Ryan is a story of Captain Miller (Tom Hanks) and his me. The story is about Captain Miller and his group of seven guys. The movie starts off at D-day. Where they open his boat and miller is at the back of the boat and when they open the door to let the soldiers out on to the beach the Germany troops open fire on the whole boat. From there on they go on to the beach and there you see all bunches of people getting shot at by the Germans. They fight their way past the Germans and they go to base, there Miller thought he and his men were going home but they gave him one more mission. The mission to go find and get Private Ryan. So throughout the movie you see the eight guys go across Germany looking for Ryan and along the way they run into trouble more than once. The movie is all based on a true story. Throughout the movie you figure out who men are really are. Like when Caparzo (Vin Diesel) Goes to get a girl from here dad that is trying to give her to the American troops to bring her to better safety. Captain Miller told him not to but he did anyways and he got shot by a sniper. When he was bleeding out he told one of the guys to give the letter in his jacket to his dad saying that he fought hard for his country. This shows that he wanted to prove to his dad that he fought to stay alive and protect the people closest to him. At the end of the movie they find Ryan and they have one last battle, there Captain Miller died and several of the people in the troop die. But in the end Ryan is safe and goes home to his Mom. The movie shows how people relied on one another. In the end it was a great movie that showed a lot of people what thing where like back in World War two.

The year 2004 brought the film Anchorman and now this past year in 2013 the film Anchorman 2 was released to the public once again following the legendary Ron Burgundy. The film begins with Ron Burgundy who is working as a news anchor in New York City with his wife Veronica Corningstone. Mack Tannen, a famous nightly news anchor, is retiring from his job and decides to promote Veronica to a nightly news anchor while he fires Ron for his horrible performances on air. Flash forward six months and Ron is back in San Diego divorced from Veronica looking to get another news anchor job with GNN, the world’s first 24 hour news station. Ron decides to assemble the old news team of Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland, and Champ Kind. Ron and the team start out at GNN with the last slot of the night but work their way up to a primetime slot on air when Ron decides to broadcast what the people want to hear rather than what they need to hear. Their way of broadcasting the news draws in audiences with their attention grabbing headlines even though they may not always be correct. As Ron becomes more popular on air he draws attention from his former wife Veronica and the two once again have a confrontation that will change Ron Burgundy’s life. The main actors featured in this epic film are Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, Paul Rudd as Brain Fantana, David Koechner as Champ Kind, and Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone. Each of these actors is reprising their role from the original Anchorman and once again they each do a great performance in Anchorman 2. The actor that again did an amazing job was Steve Carell as Brick who is now even more awkward than the last time we saw him. Will Ferrell as Ron is just as hilarious as before but now with even more sensational lines to quote from. Speaking of Will Ferrell, his character Ron Burgundy is motivated to regain his dignity that he lost from being fired as a news anchor in New York. His determination shows as he works hard to succeed as an anchor for GNN even through all the mistakes he made. The ways of Ron Burgundy show the main theme of this movie even though it can sometimes be lost in the comedy. The theme is to work hard and never give up no matter how bleak the situation is. When Ron loses his job in New York he doesn’t throw in the towel and quit but rather works hard to get another anchor position to regain the appeal that he once had. With all this said this movie is getting mixed reviews from many critics with more leaning towards the negative side. For example J.R Jones on ChicagoReader.com mentions how the film is full of “fluff” and the jokes were not as well put together as they were in the original Anchorman. He also mentions putting so many well-known actors into the same film is like “being locked in a broom closet full of Tourette's victims”. I agree with some parts of what he said because towards the last 45 minutes of the film there seems to be no plot but rather just the actors going off on random tangents. Overall though this is a great movie. Anyone who has seen the first Anchorman should definitely take time to watch the second and enjoy the great laughs that this film has to offer. Audiences will also enjoy seeing a star-studded cast with some guest appearances in the film. Audiences will not regret the decision they made to see this film.

The movie I chose is Final Fantasy 7 Advert Children released in 2006, in the English version and produced by Yoshinori Kitase, Ichiro Hazama and Shinji Hashimoto. The movie was directed by Isao Nakajima and Tetsuya Nomura. The background music is produced by Nobuo Uematsu. The movie is an animated film. The plot for this movie takes place, where three young men arrive in the city of Edge and try to find Jenova’s remains in order to revive Sephiroth. Jenova is an extraterrestrial life-form. Steven Burton is the voice actor for Cloud Strife. The voice matches the character’s personality and how he is always so calm. Cloud Strife is very loyal and true to those he cares about and he is driven to protect them. He is able to carry a massive sword named Buster Sword. Cloud Strife and his comrades protect the world from destruction. The theme for the movie is overcoming with evil with good. The main character is courageous and he never gives up. The audience learns how to overcome tough situations. I agree with the critics and what they say about the animation of the movie. The critics give an A for art, animation, and music. According to Carlo Santos, “Advent Children is still a stunning work of animation.” On the other hand, I disagree with Carlo Santos that it is not good as the original. Santos states, “Underneath that glossy exterior, however, is a superficial quest that barely lives up to the original.” I feel that the movie is as good as the original. My overall opinion is this is movie has great animation and music. This movie is worth watching because it is entertaining and I highly recommend the movie for all ages. The movie is in the internet and free for all viewers.

My second movie blog will be about happy Gilmore one of my favorites done by Adam Sandler((happy) them cast includes Christopher McDonald (shooter mcGavin), Julie Bowen ( Virginia venit), frances bay(grandma), and carl weathers(chubbs). These are the main characters in the movie. The background of the story is that happy is an aspiring hockey player but he isn’t that good at it after not making the team again his girlfriend realizes how much of a loser he is so she leaves him. Happy then finds out his grandma is being evicted from her house so now happy has to find a way to get the money to save the house. Chubbs finds happy at a golf course in the batting cage chubbs realizes how good happy could be at golf so he offers to coach him happy accepts. Happy gets to the golf course ad relizes that his main competition would be shooter mcGavin. When happy first starts out he would punch people beat them up and throw stuff if he got mad. Over time chubbs coached him to be the best he can to give him a fighting chance against shooter mcGavin. Other people say this is a stupid comedy which has no purpose of being made because it isn’t a sappy romantic novel. I think that those people are wrong to many movies are all lovey dovey there are not a lot as many movies to make people laugh and I mean a true comedy not a spoof or a rehash of some big blockbuster title a real original comedy is hard to do any one can make a romantic movie but making someone laugh is hard to do. I would really recommend this movie to someone although if you want to buy it would have to be on vhs since they never converted it to dvd.

The movie Goon is about Doug Glatt who was a part of a very accomplished family, yet he was just a bouncer at a bar. Doug and his friend were at a hockey game and Doug was talking to a hockey player that was in the penalty box and the guy came out and into the stands and tried fighting Doug but Doug knocked him out. This opened a huge opportunity for Doug, the coach saw that he could fight and gave him a shot to be on the team. Doug just wanted to fight but had no clue how to play hockey, over time he devolved some hockey skills and fought everyone. No one could beat Doug, but there was an all-time great fighter in the hockey league, Ross Rhea. Ross has been the goon and most fierce player in the league for a long time; he was the Muhammad Ali on ice skates. Doug had the drive to get better every day and work his way to the top. The two finally get to play each other and the fight has been anticipated for a long time, everyone wanted to see those two go at it. Only one person can win, who would it be? You will have to find out. Seann William who played Doug did a phenomenal job. He was very funny and showed a good example of what a goon is like in hockey. Live Schreiber also did a great job of showing what is like to be a veteran hockey played and what it is like in minor league hockey. In the film you see the motivation in Doug’s eyes to get better every day. He was determined to learn how to not only fight but become a hockey player. He was also independent. He came from a successful family that kind of was embarrassed about him because he was a bouncer and wanted to play minor league hockey. He didn’t let that affect his drive to do what made him happy. The theme of the movie is doing let the fear of failure stop you from pursing your dreams. If you have a goal and no one likes what your doing don’t let that stop you. Some critics were saying you will love it even if you aren’t a sports fan. It keeps you laughing from the beginning until the end. I agree with this because every time I watch it I can’t stop laughing. This movie is defiantly worth your money. It will keep you intrigued the whole film; it is action packed and funny.

Freedom Writers is an inspirational movie directed by Richard LaGravenese and co produced by Tracey Durning. It is a movie that draws you in, a movie that brings the characters to life, and it emphasizes the struggle of everyday lives that teens in the gangs have to face. Hilary Swank, Patrick Dempsey, April Lee Hernandez, Mario and Jason Finn all played characters in the movie that made you really feel for the actual characters. All actors and actresses who played the characters in the movie felt real like it was really their lives. Freedom Writers is a film about a new high school English teacher named Erin Gruwell played by Hilary Swank who wasn’t at all prepared for the teaching job she took. Her life changed starting at the job; she went through ups and downs, taking a glimpse of the lives of her students. Erin went through a hard time trying to open up her students who were gang affiliated and who only lived by the moral code of “protecting their own at any and all cost”. Her students thought that she was just some rich stuck up white teacher that didn’t care about them, but not knowing that Erin really did care. Erin didn’t know how to get through to her students until she decides to do a different teaching method she calls a “toast for change” which required them to write in their very own journals she provided for them about anything they wanted. It was a journal where they could open up and write about anything they felt at the time and Erin gave them the option to let her read it or not. This method changed everything and that is where the title Freedom Writers comes from. Erin Gruwell was very passionate about her job and motivated to help her students become successful in life. Segregation is a main stream in Freedom Writers, teens told “you can’t go against your own people; your own blood” had a real impact on the students and was a reason for the segregation. NY Times Manohla Dargis says “Ms. Swank uses that neediness to fine effect in a film with a strong emotional tug and smartly laid foundation” which I agree Hilary is a strong actress and brings emotion in her work. In all Freedom Writers is worth it because of its message it sends.

I am legend is a movie that is about a Police officer in Manhattan who deals with an epidemic that affects his home town of Manhattan. Will smith is the main character of the movie I am legend. According to the New York Times Will Smith does a terrific job of making the movie seem very realistic and makes it seem like he is really the last man on earth. The movie contains many different conflicts, but the main conflict is when he runs into another person, which he has not done in over 2 years. When he runs into the female and her son it brings back many memories because in the beginning of the movie Will Smith loses his son and his wife due to the epidemic that swept across the country. After Will Smith finds out that there is another person with a child there he tries to find a cure to the madness of the mutated people who come out when the sun goes down. The movie shows the conflicts that Will Smith faces with having to live a life by himself and his best friend who is a dog. The movie pulls at a person’s heart strings but also leaves the audience at the edge of their seats and makes them want more. Critics agree that I am legend is a movie that makes the audience take a step back and realize how much they have until it is all gone and how much we should appreciate life before it’s all gone. I agree with the critics in that the movie really does keep the audience on their feet and just makes them wonder what could possibly happen next with Will smith and his adventures on taking up the world day by day and trying to find a cure to the people who are very sick.

17 year old Isabella Swan, also known as Bella is the main character in Twilight which is a romantic fiction film. Bella is new to Forks, Washington where she moves voluntarily with her father Charlie because she doesn’t want to intrude on her mother’s new marriage. She has always had a normal boring life and doesn’t expect it to change especially moving to a town that never stops raining. Her life changed the minute she laid her eyes on Edward Cullen. Bella begins to grow interest in Edward and will do anything just to get to know him. Bella soon discovers that the Cullens are Vampires. Edward tries his hardest to stay away from Bella and deny any attraction toward her. Their undeniable emotions for one another are hard to keep under the rug. Not shortly after meeting, a relationship is created between the two. The Cullen’s decide to have a baseball game between one another where they are interrupted by other vampires in which one in particular has a strong interest in Bella. James the vampire who has become obsessed with Bella will stop at no costs to have Bella’s sweet and irresistible blood in his mouth. Kristen Stewart’s character in the film Twilight definitely suits her. No one else could have played the part of Isabella Swan better than she did. The only negative thing I have to say about her is that she plays her character outside of the movie and speaks awkwardly at events. I’m not sure if that is how she really is in real life but she has got to stop. Edward Cullen is irresistible and in which I think they tried to portray in the film, and if I may say they did an excellent job doing. Robert Pattinson’s character is sexy and romantic and has us viewers wanting more. He did a great job playing Edward Cullen. We could really feel the love and attraction he had for Bella. Isabella Swan’s father Charlie is strict in some kind of way which is humorous and the actor Billy Burke did an amazing job. Edward and Bella’s relationship is forbidden in the vampire world. So their passionate love for one another is their motivation to get through any obstacle that comes their way. The theme for twilight is love because of their connection for each other and all of these problems that come toward them are because of their love. I think the audience is supposed to take away that if you really love someone, don’t let a person or something get in the way. Critic Tracie Cooper from TV guide and website Fandango states on her website that “In terms of bringing the book to life, Twilight is a complete success, so much so that most of the film’s flaws work within the context of the story.” I would have to agree that the movie did bring the book to life. They did a fantastic job creating the film. Overall I think Twilight is worth the money if you’re interested into the supernatural and teen love. Twilight was my all-time favorite movie growing up so I would definitely suggest that if you haven’t watched it GO BUY IT.

Matt Damon did a really good job playing the main character “Max” in this movie because of his past experiences in his past action shooter movies the “Bourne series” and his surprising new look of being bald for the movie, Sharlto copley also did a great job playing “Kruger” the antagonist who throughout the movie stalls max and tries to arrest him. Max works at a robot production plant every day of his life but one a door on a rad-chamber for finishing the robots won’t close and max gets trapped and radiated, he is given 5 days to live and then begins his mission to get cured on Elysium. Although the film's story is set in 2154 the director has said, "No, no, no. This isn't science fiction. This is today. This is now I agree with what the critics have been saying (shown below) This is a "classic Aldous Huxley-George Orwell-Ray Bradbury rebel-against-a-monolithic-dystopia scenario, in the muscular, mechanoid-fetish '80s/'90s James Cameron-Paul Verhoeven action-movie manner", says Kim Newman in Empire. Blomkamp stages extraordinary, visceral moments, and confirms he is one of the potential science-fiction greats of this decade. Elysium is a "beautifully packaged" mix of social commentary (immigration and distribution of wealth) and action, says Ryan Lambie at Den of Geek. Stunning to look at and often breathlessly exciting, it's another marvelous genre film from Blomkamp. After a summer of bloated, moribund films, Elysium is angry and alive, says Anthony Lane in the New Yorker. Told with force and impatience, unlike Star Trek into Darkness or Man of Steel, it doesn't just look and sound right - it smells. I believe that Elysium is a great movie for those who like action shooter movies and is completely worth money and time to watch the film.

Captain Phillips is the story of Tom Hanks, known in the movie as the Captain Richard Phillips. Captain Phillips paints a picture on how piracy is going on around the horn Africa, and how the Navy Seal protects from any criminal activities in the sea. This movie shows the drastic events of the Pirate crew from Mogadishu, Somalia, and their infamous pirating on other boats around the west word. Barkhad Abdi most known as Abduwali Muse in the movie creates a gritty image of how pirates work from Somalia, where he doesn’t kill anyone and doesn’t let anyone hurt their hostages, but demands substantial amounts of Ransom. The other pirates insisted on their deaths but were convinced by their Captain Abduwali Muse, to not kill anyone because they needed them for ransom. Captain Phillips tried to offer a deal a few times for their compensation of ten thousand in American dollars. The other pirates started freaking out knowing it’s over, and they weren’t going to get any ransom but their grave, as Najee would say “(Gabriga Gili, anaga iskumid)”.This term refers to put them in their graves, they will to us. The other pirates were thinking about it, but Abduwali wouldn’t let them. He needed his ransom before anything. Throughout the movie Abduwali, kept referring to “im the captain know”. This very part kept the whole ship at scarce. It was like Captain Phillips wouldn’t come out of this. The Captain had radio a few times given to him buy the pirate captain Abduwali. Abduwali the captain pirate was a man who kind of understood human life. Ironically he kept the captain safe from death, and controlling his men. Captain Philips was a heroic man, giving a pass and even compensation of ten thousand dollars, and their freedom. In the entire movie Captain Phillips portrayed an elusive imagery of hostages, and the lengths of that and, pirating. Piracy is an illegal activity done by a few, but is seen very dangerous. Captain Phillips by far is a classic and realistic movie that came out in a while.

The movie that I chose to do a review on was Fast and Furious. While there are many different Fast and Furious movies, the one I will be reviewing is Fast and Furious 6. The movie start out with Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) calling upon Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to London in order to take on a team of mercenary drivers who have caused havoc across a dozen countries in this pedal-to-the-metal installment of the rubber-burning action franchise. Having just earned a lovely $100 million for taking down a criminal king, Dom and Brian (Paul Walker) have decided to lie low for a while. Fugitives from the law, they are constantly looking over their shoulders, no matter where they go. Meanwhile, the violent leader of a criminal group has faced the wrath of Agent Hobbs, who has decided that the only way to shut them down is to beat them on their own turf. Realizing that Dom knows the only drivers in the world with the skills to get the job done, Agent Hobbs offers them all a clean slate if they will come to London and get back behind the wheel. The closer the amazing drivers get to the organization, however, the more they realize that Dom's former lover Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) who earlier in the series was thought to be dead, is not only still alive, but a key figure among the criminal organization’s ranks. Now with the team’s freedom finally within reach, Dom and the crew reassemble for their most dangerous mission they have ever attempted. Now that you have heard about this amazing story line, I truly suggested that you go out and watch this movie. Not only will this movie have a lot of racing in it, it will also have your heart racing through this amazing suspenseful movie.

For those of you that are fans of the first Amazing Spider-Man, then you probably watched the second one, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This movie was about Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, back at it again, saving the world and all. Unlike the first one where it focused more on Peter becoming Spider-man, this movie dealt more with Peter learning more about his parents and also his relationship with Gwen, who’s played by Emma Stone. Jamie Fox plays the villain Electro in this movie and does a fine job at it. The chemistry that Emma and Andrew have is remarkable. Then again it’s not surprising since they are actually dating. Gwen was Peters motivation as well as he is to her. They made the perfect couple in this film. Like stated in many reviews, the events that occurred in the movie wasn’t something we saw coming. There were some funny scenes and some sad scenes in this film. A lot of action also occurred too, so this movie is perfect for people that enjoy watching action films. In the beginning, a lot of people were confused on the difference between the original Spider-Man movie and The Amazing Spider-Man. Well I ca tell you this, they’re not the same at all. Both have different characters and events. To be honest the only thing that was really kept the same was Peter Parker and him becoming Spider-Man. Other than that, there’s really no point in comparing both these movies. Overall though, The Amazing Spider-Man is a must watch movie. I guarantee anybody who watches this film will laugh, cry, but most of all enjoy this film. It’s definitely worth the time and money to see this. Trust me; you’ll be shocked at the end of it. 

7 Pounds is a story that observes a character behaving a particular way with no motive. The main character, Ben Thomas, portrayed by Will Smith, is a man who works for the IRS and who thinks he can treat people however he wants to. Throughout the film, Ben is a rude, merciless man to other people. In the first hour of the film, we see Ben punch a nursing home supervisor for not allowing an old lady her bath, speak to a blind man on the phone, and is so needlessly cruel to him, but later that day, he follows the same man (Woody Harrelson) into a restaurant and engage him in conversation. He then checks into a poor quality hotel while looking for people who need favors for their survival. Ben Parks is acting on a plan that seems perfectly clear to himself. It’s hard for the audience to follow his logic in his plan because it goes unexplained - he has no need to explain it to himself, and no way to explain it to anyone else. I’m not going to give away the ending of the movie because there is a twist in the plot. This movie is so powerful and has a deep message behind. Will Smith’s performance is so powerful and gives audiences a wide range of emotions. This is an excellent movie and I recommend that everyone watches it.

Fast and Furious 6 is one of my favorite movies out there but because of the death of main character Paul Walker I can’t seem to watch the fast and furious movies anymore. Paul Walker played as ex cop Brian O’Connor in the movies and he honestly made the movies, I can’t see how they can continue the sequels without him. Fast and Furious 6 is an American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan released in 2013. The film stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle, Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Tyrese Gibson have all return in this sequel from a previous fast and furious movie. Fast and Furious 6 follows the gang of wanted fugitives who in the last movie ‘Fast Five’ successfully gotten away with one of the biggest heist in history. Agent Luke Hobbs played by Dwayne Johnson off to clear the crews criminal record and allow them to return home safe and sound with no problems with the FEDS in exchange of helping him catch and take down Owen Shaw played by Luke Evans. Owen (Evans) led a mercenary organization and was a very powerful man with his partner Letty Ortiz play by Michelle Rodriguez who was presumed dead. Dominic Toretto played by Vin Diesel had no idea what he was getting himself into when finding out that his lover Letty (Rodriguez) he thought was dead. Brian (Walker) was a ex cop who choose to save his friend Dom (Diesel) and help him escape from going to jail, he choose to leave his job and go on the run with him and Dom’s sister Mia (Brewster), Brian is a caring guy and put his friends before his job. Dom (Diesel) is a family orientated guy, for him it’s always family first, so I would say Brian and Dom’s morals are almost the same. Family is the theme of this movie, they aren’t all blood related but they are all a family and that is the most important thing. NY Times review by Neil Genzlinger says “Mr. Johnson has seemingly been in every movie released in the last two years and has a reality television show” and that’s funny and I agree because he has been in so many movies recently. In all it’s worth seeing Fast and Furious 6 and the sequels.

On top of all of this, war is going on between the Republic vs. Rebellion, Jedis vs. Sith Lords, and Good vs. Evil. Watch the movie if you want to know who will survive this intense fantasy and who will not. For my movie review, I decided to choose Star Wars 2: Attack of the Clones, one of my favorite movies that I recently watched again. The Main characters are Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christianson), Obi-Wan-Kanobi (Ewan McGregor) and Padme (Natalie Portman). Although the story line and the acting is never less than awesome, there are parts where the acting from Hayden Christianson can come off as unbelievable or awkward. Anakin’s character has many goals, mostly all contributing to Padme’s safety and the justice of the republic. Padme’s character is more complex than Anakins because the audience understands that she hides her feelings and emotions on the inside for the sake of her people instead of following what her heart needs. Obi Wan is only concerned for keeping his jedi duties and protecting the people with justice. The main theme I would say for this movie is good battling the evil. There may seem like there is no hope for winning against darkness, but light will overcome in the end even when you are almost out of time. The critics rate this movie a 6.8/10, but I would rate it as an 8.2/10. All of the critics were very kind, saying there was an amazing story line just like I think, but they thought that the graphics could have been a little better, which personally I think for the time era that they published this movie they did extremely well. In conclusion, if you are interested in intense thrillers full of forbidden romance, violence and fantasy than Star Wars 2: Attack of the Clones is definitely worth your time and money.

Kevin Hart, an outstanding comedian now known globally, teamed up with Ice Cube to produce a movie that has topped box offices. Both of these actors have major experiences from previous movies that they have produced. Ride Along became a phenomenon just hours after its release, with audience members crowded in movie theatre lines to watch the movie. The movie is produced in the “hood” of Atlanta. Kevin Hart, who is a high school security guard, decides to ride along with his brother in law, who is a decorated detective. In order to prove that he is worthy enough for the detective’s sister, Kevin must prove that he can handle the streets. Along the ride, the two run into many obstacles. The most critical of them occurred during a huge drug bust at an abandoned factory in the projects of the ATL. Kevin Hart is more of a childish character who has yet to fully mature. However, contrary to him, Ice Cube’s character is one who has tons of knowledge; he is essentially very intellectual. Kevin’s girlfriend is all he has, and also unlike him, she is very mature and grown up. There is a lot to take away from viewing the film. One important theme demonstrated is family. Overall, there is nothing that can stop family from protecting and keeping each other. Another theme deals with friendship. You may hate that one person for almost all of your life, but when you get to know them, even for just some hours, you begin to see who they really are. Basically, don’t judge a book by its cover. New York Times says that, “The plot twists are easily guessed, and the film goes on for one predicament too long, but there are some good laughs,” in their article entitled “You Have the Right to Remain Funny,” published January 16, 2014. I have to agree with their review. The movie brings out a lot of great laughs. It is definitely one of those movies that is worth the time and money to view. And after watching it once, you will definitely want to watch it again.

The 2012 film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey directed by Peter Jackson follows the life of a young Bilbo Baggins who calls the Shire home. One inconspicuous day Gandalf the wizard arrives at Bilbo’s home and marks his door with an odd symbol. This symbol is the marker for the final destination for any wandering dwarves. Sure enough twelve dwarves and finally Gandalf show up at the house of poor Bilbo where he forced to serve them dinner. Little does Bilbo know that Gandalf has recommended Bilbo to be the burglar in the dwarves’ quest to venture back to their homeland where the dragon Smaug now resides in hopes to take back their kingdom. Bilbo, reluctant to go along, finally decides to take the adventure of his lifetime. The journey takes the group through Middle Earth to reach their final destination. In this film the group travels through the Misty Mountains and their trip takes an unexpected turn when they are captured by goblins that live in the mountain. This film features cast new to the Lord of the Rings series and even brings back some familiar faces. Elijah Wood, Ian Mckellen, and Ian Holms are just some of the returning actors featured in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This film though features around Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian Mckellen as Gandalf, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Each of these three actors did an excellent job portraying their respective roles. Martin Freeman brought humorous energy to a young Bilbo Baggins while Ian Mckellen brought back the wise old wizard role from the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. Richard Armitage was also great at portraying the battle hardened leader of the dwarves. Bilbo Baggins in the movie starts out as a reserved young hobbit that wants nothing to do with the adventure at hand. Many times watchers of the movie will hear him complain about how he wants to go home and how he is not fit for the adventure. His ultimate goal is to make it home alive. To contrast this is Thorin Oakenshield. This tough warrior wishes to make quick headway to his former home to regain the kingdom that is rightfully his. Thorin only cares about treasure and his company of dwarves but not Bilbo. Many times Thorin will say that he wishes that Bilbo was not on the quest. The main theme of this movie is being able to have faith in one’s self. While on the early stages of the adventure Bilbo seems to have little faith in his ability to return home. He does not have faith that he will be able to do the job that he was hired for. What the audience can take away from this is have faith in yourself. If you believe in something you can accomplish it. Overall this movie was great and well worth your time to see. The movie has beautiful scenes, great visuals, and action packed fights. Despite what some reviewers like Christopher Orr at The Atlantic say, this movie was overall excellent. I agree that the actors were great at portraying their roles and I also agree that the movie threw in unnecessary plot such as the feud with the orc warlord. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend watching this movie.

The movie I have chosen is The Avengers. The plot for this movie is centered around a villain named Loki who teams-up with the Chitauri Army to use the Tesseract power to travel from Asgard to Earth and start an invasion on earth. The director of S.H.I.E.L.D gathers the six superheroes to save the world from disaster. I think that Mark Ruffalo’s acting as The Hulk went really well in The Avengers, because he is super strong and super-fast. Another actor that I really like is Chris Hemsworth as Thor because he is the only character that holds the hammer. Robert Downey, playing Iron Man is pretty cool because he is able to use the suit as his super power. The Hulk in his human form has a good attitude in the movie until you make him angry and then he will transform. For Captain America, he possesses strength, agility, endurance, speed, and reflexes superior. Thor is able to wield the mystical war hammer, which allows him to control the weather, and he also has a godlike strength. Additionally, the theme of the movie is good overcoming evil and the audience cheers on the heroes throughout the movie. Even though evil almost wins, good prevails at the end. So the audience learns to appreciate our world here on earth, and learns to work hard for what we have. According to Josh Whedon from the New York Times, “this movie revels in the individuality of its mighty, mythical characters, pinpointing insecurities that are amplified by superhuman power and catching sparks that fly when big, rough-edged egos (and alter egos) collide.” I really agree with Josh Whedon says about The Avengers. Overall, I think this movie is worth our time and money because The Avengers has really intense fight scenes and has six superheroes helping as a team, and they all have different super powers.

Transporter is a movie with Jason Stratham in it. He is an insanely skilled driver and is requested from many well-known people to transport there expensive and illegal things in a very fast time. In most of the movie he is either being chased or kicking someone’s butt. The movie is packed with action and fighting scenes with some high quality driving scenes. I love this movie because of that reason and because Jason is the main character. He makes his own stunts which is pretty awesome! The Transporter movies are all well directed and shot. Basically in this movie he finds out the package is a woman and decides it’s not right to be transporting a woman, and he told them no living packages to begin with. As he is falling for this girl that he is transporting he is having a hard time staying on the mission which is getting the package to where it needs to be. He finally decides it’s not right and is trying to get her away from all these bad people. This is where the fighting comes in, after he tells them he’s not going to do it they send people after him to kill him and the girl. Many amazing fight scenes occur while trying to flee these people. But if you know Jason Statham, you know he never loses! He comes to find out that the only way he is going to get out of this is if he kills all of them men after him all the way up to their boss. I don’t want to tell much more of the movie to spoil you for it but you won’t be disappointed. This movie is well worth buying and spending the time to watch it. If you have to time you should watch all the transporter movies because they never get boring when Jason is kicking butt through the whole movie. Transporter is a very well put together series and action movies are my all-time favorite.

Tommy boy is one of my favorite movies of all time. The main characters are Chris Farley and David spade sadly Chris Farley isn’t alive anymore to make great movies. The main point of the movie is that tommy’s (Chris Fairley) father mysteroilesly dies who is the owner of Brake Company and tommy must go with David spade to sell brake pads to keep the company alive. Along the way tommy and David face wacky and cookie obstacles. The movie is mainly a comedy but there are some serious moments there are some bad guys the wife who marries tommy’s mom and her son they are crooked and mean. The theme of the movie is to not give up they show this because tommy is not the greatest sales men like his father he has a very hard time getting companies to buy his brake pads but through trial and error he finally gets in his groove. Tommy sells brake pads like its nothing. Him and David also become really close friends . a lot of people think movies like tommy boy and other monies alike some of them are black sheep, happy Gilmore, big daddy, Mr. Deeds and more movies that are like them. But I think that these movies are great infect I would even say that these movies are classics I don’t think those sappy romantic movies are good as people say they are if I’m going to sit down and watch a movie I want to laugh and entertained not bored and sad would recommend people to buy this movie it is worth the money I think you will love it so much you’ll even keep it around to show your kids so they can see what a good movie looks like. If you like this movie then I think you’ll really like black sheep another movie Chris Farley and David spade do together

The movie flashes back and forth every once in a while to show how the main character the only character besides his dog Sam who protects Dr.Neville form getting killed but the crazy humans they have got infected an sad to say Sam the dog does not make it. After he kills his dog only because Sam got the virus the rest of the movie goes downhill quick. NY times Calvin Wilson says that the movie has a very good story line also has a little humor in it so it does not seem so stressful an never over reacted in any sense of the movie like doing something over bored. Another guy from NY times Rex Reed said the movie goes off when least expected an there is more horror the hart in the movie at times am legend show how the world be or show what type of precaution we the people would have to do. In a virus were to out of the blue come pone us. If you like suspense you should go out and watch I am legend it’s a great movie.

The movie Miracle is more than a story about a hockey team. It’s about a Nation pulling together to do the impossible, beat the Soviets. The USA team wasn’t put together with the best players in the nation, Herb picked the players that played with each other and smart. The USA team had to overcome the odds and beat a hockey power house the Soviets. Also the cold war was going on and that had a lot of tension between the Americans and the Soviets. The movie shows the struggles of making the USA Olympic team and how hard it is on someone on and off the ice. Kurt Russel does a fabulous job of playing Herb Brooks. He shows how he inspired the USA hockey team and gave not just the team but the whole nation hope. There is no one better than Kurt that could have played Herb. Herb was determined smart and strong willed. He didn’t settle for anything less than gold, he was smart and knows how to play the game. According to Joshua Tyler on Cinemablend.com the movie might be a little hard to understand if you don’t get hockey but the will of Herb will intrigue you and make you want to watch it. I kind of agree with this, the movie is fast pace but it very intriguing. It makes you want to go out and accomplish whatever you want to do. This movie is worth your money because it is about a Nation coming together and beating the odds. It will give you hope and that if you set your mind to something anything can happen.

The Avengers came out in 2012 and was one of the most anticipated movies of late. This is because 5 marvel superheroes clash in one epic battle to save the world. The story starts off when Nick Fury, director of S.H.E.I.L.D. got these 5 superheroes together to save the earth from Loki and his army. Loki is Thor’s brother, and is hell bent to recover the Tesseract. An energy source of unlimited potential. Not to mention that he wants to destroy the planet his brother calls home. After Loki invaded earth and blew up the S.H.E.I.L.D building, Fury figured that the Avengers were the only people left to help save the world. Unfortunately getting these superheroes to all work together was a hard task, they didn’t exactly want to work with each other. Luckily because the world was being threatened by an Alien invader they learned to work with each other. They needed it too, as they were in for the fight of their lives. At one point they have Loki captured, but Thor wanted to take him back to Asguard (his home planet) to face charges there. Somehow Loki escapes their capture though and opens a portal to a different world, and an alien invasion ensued. This is when the avengers were needed most, and they battled the aliens for the sake of the earth. In terms of acting, Robert Downey Jr. did a great job as Iron Man. In my opinion he is perfect for this role, as both a bad boy and a hero/genius. The characters all have different traits, Iron man is more rebellious and likes to do things at the spur of the moment while Captain America is more cautious and likes having a set plan for action. A good theme for this movie would be giving up your ego for the best interest of the world. All of these heroes think that what they want to do is the only thing to do, but by the end of the movie they learn to work together as a team. Most of the reviews that I read about the movie said it was everything they expected, a good mix of both storyline and action. That’s what I would say about this movie. Overall this movie is definitely worth a watch, or two… or three.

Gridiron Gang is a movie about young troubled teens that are in a juvenile detention center in California. Some of the teens in there are rival gang members and they fight the other teens because of their lives on the outside of the detention center. But the head guard in the movie sees good in the teens and wants to start a football team so the boys can get a better life than how they are living. And to get them off the streets and out of the gang/drug life. So he gets approved to start a team but the only problem he faces is finding teams for them to play against. So he goes around the city and goes to different high schools to talk to the coaches to see if they would be winning to play them. Some coaches were scared because they were locked up and thought that their players would get stabbed or get in a fight with them. But there were some coaches that gave them a chance. So they started practices and learning how to play football. Some players liked it and some hated it because it was too hot for them or they were to out of shape. Then there were two rivals that were on the team and they were doing a drill and one player punched the other and they got in a fight. They played their first couple and they did horrible. But as time went on they grew as a team and started winning. And one of the players gang members came to visit him and saw a rival and tried to fight him but the officers told him to leave. And then at the next game he showed up to watch his friend that was in the same gang and after the game he shot the rival the played on the football team. And the shooter died, the police shot him.

Angels and Demons is a story that follows Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon as he tries to stop a legendary secret society known as the Illuminati from eradicating the holy Vatican City with a newly created substance called Antimatter. CERN (science facility) director Maximilian Kohler finds a shocking discovery of one of the facility’s physicist, Leonardo Vetra, murdered and branded with an ambigram of the word “Illuminati.” Robert Langdon is called upon to help figure out the mystery of who killed Vetra, as well as Leonardo’s daughter Vittoria Vetra. They are flown to Rome to the Vatican City, in hopes that they can find Leonardos killer and the Antimatter that threatens the safety and existence of the Vatican City. As the hunt goes on, more complications arise throughout the story that leaves the Vatican and the main characters in very tough spots. Robert and Vittoria are forced to find Illuminati secret trail called “The Path of Illumination” that will lead them to four churches in which a Cardinal of the Vatican City is supposed to be killed every hour. As the clock ticks down and more lives are being threatened the thrilling movie keeps you interested and excited for everything to come. This movie tells a suspenseful story that teaches you not only an extensive history lesson but also a religious one as well. According to Robert Eber "Angels & Demons" received a favorable review from the official Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, which wrote it is a "harmless entertainment which hardly affects the genius and mystery of Christianity." The film was given a 3 out of 4 star rating by the Robert Eber website. In my opinion I think this move is a great movie to watch and also educate yourself about past history that you may not have known of, if you’re interested in learning a little bit of history!

The Pursuit of Happyness is a story inspired by actual events. The main character, Chris Gardner, portrayed by Will Smith, is a man who is fighting to keep his family from falling into poverty by fighting with is kindness and his smarts. Throughout the film, Chris and his family are barely making ends meet living paycheck to paycheck. While trying to provide for his family, Chris holds onto his dignity, resolve, faith, love and independence. Unlike many Hollywood films, this movie focuses more on the lives of poorer people in the world and how everyone has the ability to change their lives. Hard work and positivity are themes seen throughout the film. Chris never gave up on trying to provide for his family no matter how difficult it may have been. Through it all, Chris always keep his head up and stayed positive. I agree with the critic’s opinion on this movie. Chris Gardner’s story is so inspirational and proves how you can turn a negative into a positive and become successful. Will Smith did an excellent job at portraying the real person and capturing the emotions that the real Chris Gardner may have been feeling at the time. This is a great story that turned into an amazing movie. The Pursuit of Happyness is definitely worth everyone’s time and I recommend that everyone watch this movie.

I Robot was made in 2004 with Will Smith as Del Spooner and Bridget Moynahan as Susan Calvin and Alan Tudyk as Sonny. The setting has this movie take place in New York in the year 2035 where most of the world relies on robots and flying cars and other future technologies we do not have at this time. In this film, we have Will Smith, our main character in the film who is a cop for the NYPD, also known as the New York police department. He is on quest to find robots that are hurting and killing people and that are being used for the wrong things. Later on in the film, Will Smith also known as Del Spooner meets a robot scientist named Susan Calvin who wants to help stop the robots from turning evil and hurting other people. Moreover, Will Smith makes the character believable and his performance was outstanding in every way. Bridget Moynahan’s performance as good as Will Smith’s character, but could have been better. The character Del Spooner does not trust robots in any way. During the film, he is motivated by a past accident by where a young girl lost her life. Doctor Susan Calvin is a scientist whose job it is to make robots more human and put more human characteristics in them. She has not been very successful at her job, but she knows the ins and outs to help Spooner out with the robots and the building that robots are being made and programed in. The theme of the movie is science is getting out of hand and hurting people and we can take technology way too far .The audience learns at the end of the movie, to not always trust technology because it can always back fire on you. According to the New York Times review by A. O. Scott on July 16, 2004, the movie is inspired by " Isaac Asimov's classic book of short stories, this sleek, hectic thriller engages some interesting ideas on its way to an overblown and incoherent ending.” I agree that is a thriller but I feel that the ending was understandable. My overall opinion is that the movie is worth your time and money if you like action scfi movies.

The pursuit of Happyness is a movie that is about a man who invested in a bone density machine and is struggling to make profits off of it, actor Will Smith plays the main character of the film along with his real son, Jaden Smith. Without money and wife, but totally committed with his son Christopher, Chris sees the chance to fight for a stockbroker internship position at Dean Witter, vying for one career in the end of six months training period without any salary with other twenty candidates. Meanwhile, homeless, he has all sorts of difficulties with his son. According to The New York times the film traces the fleeting ups and frightening downs of Chris Gardner, whose efforts to keep his family from sinking into poverty evolve into a life-and-death struggle of social Darwinian proportions. Throughout the movie the audience sees the struggles that Chris and Christopher go through, the audience feels overwhelmed with the situations they go along with becoming homeless and Losing a mother and a wife. Will smith plays a huge role in the film, he makes the movie come alive, and He makes the audience feel like they are going through the same thing as Chris gardener and his song Christopher. People believe that the title is spelt wrong, but Happiness should be with an I and not a Y. The movie title plays a big part in the movie itself, the word Happyness is spelt with a Y because he is in the pursuit of happyness not just for him but for his son. Will smith and Jaden Smith are both very good actors for the roles of the Father and son; they really connected throughout the movie and made it really heartfelt. If you ask me The Pursuit of Happyness is definitely a move that is well worth spending your money on.

Paid in full is the story of Wood Harris, most known as the notorious Ace Buggie. The movie Paid in Full portrays a story of Ace Boogie, from when he was a broke laundry mat worker, to one of Harlem’s biggest drug kingpins. The movie tells the story of how Ace Buggie went from broke to one the richest men in Harlem, with the help of his friends, Mekhi Phifer (Mitch), and Cam’ron (Rico).The story evaluates from when Ace didn’t have a single dollar in his pocket, to when he sees his sister’s boyfriend Kevin Carroll(Calvin), stunt and flash off how amazing his life is selling illegal narcotics, and how he taunts his girlfriend’s little brother Ace, and tries to influence him to get off his low income job, and join the league of drug dealers in Harlem. Kevin leaves him an “8 ball”, which is worth more than 800 dollars if he sells it. Ace seen the struggle he and his family been through, and decides to go to one of his closest friends Mekhi, to seek advice, and if he should join the game. He eventually joins the game and gets really big at it. Ace meets a buddy of Mekhi’s in prison who was incarcerated at the time, Cam’ron who knew Mekhi in jail, and helps him move on the next level in the dope game, and thrive money, power, and respect. Wood Harris is best fit for the role of Ace Buggie, because he fits perfect as a young man struggling with life, trying to maintain, and deal with the harsh streets of Harlem. This movie is based on a true story of when crack hit the streets of New York, and how big of an epidemic it became to sell it, and be the big dawg of the city. Ace has many close friends, and family throughout the film, and very shady friends and family in the film as he gets bigger and bigger in Harlem. Paid in Full was rated a 7/10 on the NY times movie Colum. I thought this film deserved a 9/10 on its rating, because of how real and motivational the film itself was. Paid in Full shows from when Ace, started from the bottom, and reached the top, getting ace and his family off the streets of Harlem. This film tells a very heroic story, of a young man struggling with everyday issues, to the top of the world in just a few years. Other drug related movies never have a really inspirational message behind it, rather than just money as its motive. In all Paid in full shows the daily struggle of a young man, and his family reaching the top, and trying to do the right thing at the end of the day.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the second movie to Captain America and like usual, it’s about saving the world. The main character Steve works for the agency called SHIELD. When Shield gets compromised though it’s his job to try to save it. Chris Evans is the actor that plays Steve a.k.a Captain America. He is much built and is always taking the role of a leader. The theme of Captain America is to fight bad villains that are trying to rule the world. Captain America is one of many heroes that are on the Avengers. In this film, it reveals in the end a scene that will continue in The Avengers 2. You don’t want to miss anything. Also in this movie you’ll see Samuels character Fury play an important role. In the first Captain America you really didn’t see Fury until the very end. In this one though he’s everywhere throughout the movie. To be honest the movie is sort of in way about him. That’s something that I didn’t like. I did like that there was a lot of action though. I also liked that there were some new characters in the film. For an example Sam whose played by Anthony Mackie. He and Captain America become close throughout the film and you can see that their relationship will continue on for future movies. Overall, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a great film to watch. If you ask me I’d say the first on was better, but that’s just my opinion. I do think it’s worth the time and money to go see it because it reveals what The Avengers will be about. So my advice is if you like action and be entertained, go see it or you’ll totally be missing out in The Avengers.

The Blind Side is the story of Michael Oher, also known as Big Mike which is based on a true story. The Blind Side tells the story of “Big Mike” a homeless young African American who comes from a broken home with having no clue as to who his father is and a drug addict of a mother. He is taken in by Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock), Leigh Anne spots him walking the streets in the rain, her motherly/ caring instincts kick in and invites him in to her home. Michael has little education background. Leigh Anne see’s success in Michael and tries her hardest to enroll and keep him in the school her children attend. She notices his interest in football and does all that she can to get him where he needs to be and gives his coach advice to make him a better athlete. She hires a tutor to improve his grades so he could possibly qualify for an athletic scholarship. Sandra Bullock’s performance in The Blind Side is amazing and truly heart felt. She definitely becomes the character in the film and brings out the characters trait’s to life. She really gives me the feel of how much she cares for Big Mike and how her intentions are pure. Quinton Aaron also does a great job in the film and shows he is the right one to be playing Michael Oher. Tim McGraw plays an awesome part as Sandra’s husband. Overall when I think of the film Sandra Bullock blows my mind in her acting and that’s all I can really think about when The Blind Side is brought up. She really overpowers the other actors and actresses in the film in which is probably not the best for the others. Leigh Anne is protective, determined, caring and kind. For example in the movie she says “You threaten my son, you threaten me.” It really shows the audience a lot and how much Mike means to her. Her motivation in the film was merely to do the right thing in which she did and made a difference in a boy’s life. Big Mike was quiet, kind of a big baby, protective, and he loves kids. He is also very protective because Leigh Anne tells Big Mike during practice to imagine protecting her and in which he does and takes down the defensive player. He also shows his love for his siblings (not biological) by being there for both of them in need. I would say the theme is to not give up and to not judge a person by their outside appearance. The Audience is supposed to take away from the film not to give up when things get rough and no matter where you come from you can become something. One critic mentions that the film is enjoyable, and inspirational. He also mentions that this is Sandra’s best performance. I do agree with the critic that the movie was enjoyable and inspirational because it makes you feel sympathetic for the character Big Mike and how much Leigh Anne goes out of her way for a stranger. I also agree that this was Sandra’s best performance; I could not keep my eyes off of her. Overall this movie is worth the money and time because it inspires you to do something good for someone else and teaches a well taught lesson.

One movie I have seen recently is “Act of Valor” it is a movie about a team of Navy SEALs that have to stop a terrorist from attacking the U.S. This is one of the most different movies I have ever seen, and I don’t mean that in a bad way, in the movie they used real active duty Navy SEALs as actors instead of professional actors. That in itself should have made this one of the best movies of the year. They also used live ammunition in the movie instead of blanks adding to the realism. The movie has two different plots that drive it. The first is their mission to save a captured CIA agent who was working undercover to get information on an arms dealer. The second is to stop a terrorist from smuggling people with new add deadly explosive vests into the U.S. through underground tunnels in Mexico. It would be hard to critic each of the actors considering that most of them are still active duty they do not mention their real names in the movie or in the credits. The characters they play though are all influence by one thing and that is brotherhood. In the movie one of the team members, who is named Chief Dave, says there is a brotherhood between us. And if you're not willing to give up everything, you've already lost. The movie is packed full of action and suspense. Roger Ebert the critic who wrote the review stated; the details in both of these scenarios seem realistic. I agree with him this is one of the most realistic movies I have seen. Some of the other reviews I read said that the movie was bad because the actors dialogue didn’t sound right to them, but what can you expect when you are using the real deal and not some billion dollar actor like Will Smith or Brad Pitt. The main theme in the movie is brotherhood and how important it should be in your life to have someone who you can trust with your life. I would definitely recommend this to a friend I give it a 9.5 out of 10 so go out and purchase this awesome film.

My movie blog is about SAW released in 2004. The movie starts with two people locked up in a rotting room that do not know each other with a dead body in between them. Jigsaw, the killer, wants to show people what they did wrong, so he locks them up and lets them decide between life and death, giving them life-threatening challenges. There are three main characters, Jigsaw, Adam and Doctor Lawrence. Jigsaw is not really a present character, but he is illuminated in every scene. Adam and Lawrence did not value their lives enough, so Jigsaw put them to the test. Adam's reaction and acting is the most realistic, in the sense that he is so confused, freaks out, and lets the challenges control his common sense. While on the other hand, Lawrence acted calm like he knew what was going on because he had previous knowledge from jigsaw, and he knew that there was no easy escape. The main objective of the movie is to prove that we need to live every day like it is our last because we never know what the future has in store for us. Jigsaw really makes this obvious when the audience understands that Jigsaw was never a killer. Everyone had the choice to kill themselves or live, but every achievement comes with a price. I actually disagree with the critics because the message that this movie tries send to the audience is emphasized by the use of blood, and dehumanizing scene, where as the critics just think it is a gory horror movie with no real objective. I believe that the movie Saw is worth money and time because of such a strong message that causes strong thought provoking about the way we live our lives on a day to day basis. If the audience can withstand intense scene and lots of blood, it is definitely a movie to be checked out and personally on my top ten favorites.
