The movie Alice in Wonderland, is about nineteen year old Alice Kingsleigh, and her adventures in a world called “Underland”. As a child, Alice always dreamed of a magical mystical world that she referred to as Wonderland. Her father, Charles, told her that she was crazy, but then told her that all of the best people were. The crazy followed Alice throughout her dreaming life, until the film takes us to the scene of a party. Unknown to Alice, it was her engagement party, where everyone hoped and expected her to become engaged to Hamish, a rich, ugly son of a man who worked with her father. Everyone at the party expected so much out of Alice. She had to be polite, dress properly, conform to society, and ultimately become a clone of the rest of them. During the party, Alice sees a rabbit wearing a waistcoat, and chases it until she ends up falling down a hole. She had fallen straight into the world of Wonderland from her dreams. The inhabitants of Underland argue as to whether she is the “right Alice”, who had come to slay the Jabberwocky. The quests and adventures she goes on while trying to prove that she is not the “right Alice” led her to the realization that she is the “right Alice” and to fight for the White Queen as her champion. The scroll containing the story of Underland shows that Alice will defeat the Jabberwocky, but Alice isn’t so sure. How will she survive? Will she get back to her real world? Or does she even want to?
Mia Wasikowska, who plays Alice, does a fantastic job showing Alice’s path of confusion, fear, and loyalty to her friends. Another bold character in this movie is the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp. He is crazy [literally], and becomes a great help and friend to Alice, and helps her on her adventures through Underland. The theme of following your destiny is bold in this movie, as Alice moves down her path from the scroll, and her friends sacrifice everything to ensure her destiny is followed. I disagree with many reviews that say that the plot is weak, and the characters are miscast. I totally agree when they say the movie is very memorable and enjoyable. The movie is worth your time and money if you’re open to viewing a fun, exciting, pleasurable movie.

The movie Titanic took place during April of 1912. One of the main characters, Jack Dawson (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) won a ticket to board the voyage of the Titanic by winning a game of cards. He ends up meeting Rose DeWitt (played by Kate Winslet), who is on her way to Philadelphia where she is supposed to marry her rich, snobby fiancée. Rose is very unhappy with her life, and decides to jump off the back of the boat to commit suicide. Jack ends up saving her, and they become close. This greatly angers her fiancé, Cal, and causes troubles between the two of them. The plot twists when the Titanic hits an iceberg, and the ship begins to sink. The crazy struggles of Rose and Jack trying to make their love work while trying to stay alive keep viewers excited until the end of the movie. Will their love survive?
Leonardo DiCaprio captures the character of Jack very well, showing how a third class boy with nothing could find the love of his life, and convince her to stay with him. He shows the passionate love he has for her, and uses that love to try to help her survive when the ship starts to go down. Kate Winslet, who plays Rose, also does a spectacular job of portraying the correct feelings of her character. Rose is a character who is totally unhappy in her life, and scared to let anything new into it. She desperately wants to love Jack, but is afraid because of Cal. She sacrifices her life by jumping out of a life boat and back onto the sinking ship so she could be with Jack. The theme of love conquering all is evident throughout the film. Jack and Rose both sacrifice some of the most important things for each other, because of the love they share. They are both willing to sacrifice their lives for the other. Most critics of this movie say that Titanic is one of the best movies ever made, and is a classic that will be enjoyed for many years to come. I completely agree with all of them. Titanic sticks out in my mind as the best character driven movie ever made. Titanic is defiantly worth your time and money, it will entertain you as well as capture your heart, I guarantee it.

I completely agree with everything Hailley said about Nickelback. The emotions evoked by all of Nickelback’s songs are very expressive and moving. The fact that they are a rock band is really cool, since they can be heard on so many different radio stations. It makes them really easy to hear. One of the reasons I like Nickelback so much is because their songs are so relatable. In one song “If Today Was Your Last Day” the lyrics “My best friend gave me the best advice/ He said each day’s a gift and not a given right”. This message can be used and applied to almost anything, and that is one of the reasons I enjoy Nickelback so much. They are music with a message. Nickelback is also a cool band to jam out to anytime of the day. It’s the stuff you want to be listening to in the summer with the top of your convertible down. I heard one day on the radio that Nickelback was one of the worst bands of 2009 and I was appalled. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever heard. A lot of people do compare them to other bands like Metallica and Hinder, and some people say they copy a lot of the things about their music. Nowadays it’s impossible for a song to not be similar to another one, because everything has been done. Originality is hard to come by. I think Nickelback has done a really good job in distinguishing themselves among other artists and bands. I think their style is different than most other bands. I also agree with Hailley when she says that everyone who likes music should own a Nickelback cd. You can listen to it no matter what mood you’re in, and you will very much enjoy it.

Nickelback is first of all a great band and their new album is extremely good. Their songs are not only powerful in a lyrical sense but also their songs are energetic and just fun to listen to. I agree that they can compare to Hinder but not so much AC/DC or Metallica just because they are a totally different type of rock and it is hard to compare two different generations of music/rock. I think the songs you pointed out from the Dark Horse are great songs that really make the album what it is even though to me they are all great. With their great exposure I found Nickelback was criticized greatly and constantly being bashed by reviewers. I don’t know if you found that but when you say they are original, I don’t know if that’s your opinion or that’s what others say. Rolling stone called them extremely unoriginal and if you are looking for originality you might as well ask for your money back. Despite what the critics say Nickelback continues to produce amazing music that continues to stay at the top of the charts with hit songs. With such a hit album you wonder if Nickelback can continue to produce these great songs and compete with the new and upcoming artist. The listeners of this age seem to be changing their likes and dislikes of music. What was once popular is now old and boring. Fans seem to be looking for music that is new, upbeat and very original such as Lady GaGa or Ke$ha. It probably all depends on the listener and what you like. I agree strongly that Nickelback back is worth every penny. They bring such emotion and energy to every song and that is why they have been so successful during their career.

Lady Gaga is one of the most unique famous females. Some think of her as cool person and some think of her as a weirdo. I agree with you that her fashion is kind of different but she does make a fashion statement. She has a lot of well known songs that have played over radios all around the world. The type of music that she sings is pop. The emotions evoked through her music are a lot of different things. The emotions that I get when I listen to her music are unique and different. Her music is very catchy and a lot of people like it. Her music doesn’t compare to any other artist out there. I agree that Gaga has her own unique style that a lot of people could not pull off. “just like a chick in the casino, take your bank before I pay you out I promise this, promise this check this hand cause im marvelous.” That is a memorable quote from her song “Poker Face,” Lady Gaga thinks she is unique and better than everybody else and that’s the vibe that she sends out to her fans and other artists. I agree with you analysis of Lady Gaga, you couldn’t of said it better. She sets a fashion statement and she does her own thing which is why I think a lot of people like her and enjoy her music. Is lady Gaga’s music worth your time and money? I definitely think its worth your time and money. Most of us in the world have jammed out to a Lady Gaga song and if you haven’t, then you will sooner or later. She makes good music that fits a whatever mood your in. I would most definitely go out and buy a Lady Gaga CD for myself and listen to her music.

Carrie Underwood
I would have to agree with Fartun’s blog post about Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood is definitely worth the time and money to listen to because her lyrics and songs tell a story about everyday life. Like Fartun said in her blog post, Carrie evokes a variety of emotions to her audience. To go more in depth, emotions such as grief, love, sadness, happiness, loneliness, and anger are just some examples of emotion that Carrie Underwood is able to portray in her music. In the song “Just a Dream,” Carrie tells a story about grief when a woman becomes a widow after losing her husband in the war and is hoping that she everything is a dream. From the lyrics, “Then they handed her a folded up flag and she help on to all she had left of him” I concluded that a woman lost her husband to the war because in the military, family members who have lost a loved one in the war are given a folded up flag as an honor. The song “Before He Cheats” has an emotion of revenge as Fartun said in her blog. In the music video, Carrie Underwood seeks revenge on her cheating boyfriend by doing terrible things to his truck. The RollingStone rate Carrie Underwood with 4 ½ stars saying she has emerged out of her shell since American Idol. She has won five Grammy Awards, fourteen Billboard Music Awards, along with forty-two other awards for her music. These awards must say something about how well her music is. Carrie Underwood is now known as the new Faith Hill in today generation. She is the girl next door she is able to belt out emotions through her music as Faith Hill use to. In the country music world, many artists are able tell a story through their music, but they sure are not able to make their audience feel a variety of emotions as Carrie Underwood does.

Response to Hailley T2
I agree with Hailley’s opinion, for the most part. I would most definitely say that Nickelback’s music has definitely spread like wild fire, but, I would consider them closer to Metal than Pop, since you hear them more often on Z ROCK then KROC. I also agree with comparing them to AC/DC and Metallica, I won’t agree to the last since I’ve never listen to them before. I also agree to the fact that they do sing of things that the public would consider inappropriate, like strippers, sluts, and porn stars. Though I have not listened to the entire new album you mentioned in your blog, I have listened to, and own, All The Right Reasons, and Silver Side Up, and they also do the same as their new album. The song “If Everyone Cared” invokes the same message as “If Today Your Last Day”. The CDs I own also show the same emotions as the newer one, the raunchy destructive behavior and the original power ballads along with those few mellow songs. I agree that their originality makes them stand out compared to what is played on the radio, but compared to some bands; they still remain original, but don’t stand out as much. A few bands I listen to, like Epica and older stuff from Nightwish for example, have female lead singers, who have training as opera singers. Though it’s quiet rude to compare them to Simone and Tarja, since the two fall into the category of Symphonic Metal, where as Nickelback is more of Rock than anything else. I also agree that it should be owned by anyone who has good music taste, which is the most opinionated statement ever, simply because of the messages within their songs and for the fact that they are influential to upcoming rock bands.

Nickelback is a popular rock band with a lot of edge. The band started in 1995 in Hanna Alberta. The band plays mainstream rock with a little attitude to them. Nickelback often sings about real thing that are happening in the world, they have a realistic story telling style. They have relaxed feel to them but also they have some intensity to them. The band sings a variety of songs topic that range from getting wasted with your buddies, to a friend’s overdose. They have had to multimillion selling albums which are silver side up and the most recent, the dark horse. A song from silver side up was, How You Remind Me, this was a top hit. The lyrics talk about how someone reminds him of how he really is. I also think the song is about a break up and maybe he or his significant other got cheated on. Think this because a line from the song goes; it’s not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story, this time I’m mistaken, for handing you a heart worth breaking. So to me this means he broke someone’s heart or got his heart broken. It’s a memorable song because it has powerful lyrics that everyone can relate to. A song from Nickelbacks most recent album, Dark Horse, is, Somethin in your mouth. This song is about a girl who is a wild child and is about the glitz and glamour of life instead of the thing that are most important. The girl does have much self respect for herself and can be with anyone who gives her money. The band sounds like a lot of rock band out their but the band Theory of a Dean Man reminds me of Nickelback just because they also have a realistic story telling style. A lot of the critics criticize the band for being unoriginal and to mainstream. Rolling stone had this to say about Nickelback. “If you're looking for originality, you might want a full refund instead of a Nickelback.” So critics were very heavy on the band. But with their new alum despite have an overall negative review got a positive review from Rolling stone. The album went platinum twice and continues to be a big hit. In my opinion the band is worth listening to and their music is worth buying because they have such a great sound to them and great lyrics.

Dwayne Carter, better known as Lil Wayne is a famous rap/hip-hop artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Lil Wayne raps about everything from the hurricane in Louisiana to getting’ money to being with women all day every day. Lil Wayne’s music can make you feel a lot of different things, I like Lil Wayne’s music to pump me up before a game or just to relax and listen. Lil Wayne has a very unusual voice, in a good way. During a song, right away you can tell that him, with other artist sometimes you are wondering who is this. But his music style compare to most rappers and the things they rap about like Lil Wayne and most rappers rap about drug and women. There is no one single rapper that can compare to Lil Wayne is sound because his voice is so unique. A song that is memorable is, Let the Beat Build from his album Tha Carter III. This song is memorable because it has great lyrics and when you are warming up for a game the beat just kind or hits you and you are ready. It is a great song that everyone listens to or has heard. Tha Carter III had a huge hype to it everyone expected it to be the biggest a best thing, well it was. Rolling stone game the album four and a half stars out of five. I would say that is pretty good. The review said that Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive. Tha Carter III is just one of his recent albums he plans to release Rebirth in 2010. But Lil Wayne writes new music every day, his mix-tapes are ways we can hear his music everyday so listeners do not need to wait for an album come out. Lil Wayne’s music is worth your money for sure. His beats, his lyric, his flow is all worth it. You can’t get any better than Lil Wayne.

Lady Antebellum
If you like county music then you will like the band Lady Antebellum. This band grew to fame when their new single “Need You Now” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Charts. Lady Antebellum album Need You Now will evoke the listeners’ soft and romantic side. Like many country artists and bands, Lady Antebellum sings and writes about love and life with a soft melody. Hillary Scott is the female vocalist in the band, whose voice dominates in most of the band’s songs along with fellow band mates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. When comparing and contrasting Lady Antebellum to Gloriana, another country band; there are a few similarities and difference between these two bands. There is a soft and sweet tone to the songs sung by Lady Antebellum. On the other hand, Gloriana’s songs are sung with a hint of rock & roll and excitement. Both band sing outstanding songs and have a passion for music. The most memorable lyrics that pops into my mind is the song “I Run to You.”A part of the lyrics is “This world keeps spinning faster, into a new disaster so I run to you.” This song talks about people running away from situations in their lives that they fear and run away to someone they know who will be there for them. I think Lady Antebellum was correct when writing this song because in real life, people do run away from things that they do not want to face. The Rollingstone rates Lady Antebellum 2 stars and says “Lady Antebellum have potential, but they're mostly dull — by design.” I do not agree with Rollingstone’s review. Rating them 2 out of 5 stars is a slap in the face. This rating is basically saying that Lady Antebellum’s music is not average, but below average. Entertainment Weekley rated Lady Antebellum with a B+. Now I agree with this rating because it means that Lady Antebellum is an excellent country music band but not phenomenal yet. It can only get better and not worse. Entertainment Weekly says, “They harmonize so prettily over the piano-laced pulse of ''Need You Now'' and I agree with this statement because their voices make you fall in love with the song and be in a peaceful mood. I do believe that Lady Antebellum is worth your time and money. Not only are their songs soulful, but they also have a connection to life. Sure, every song has a life connection to them, but all these songs are not sung with a peaceful melody by Lady Antebellum.

Lady Gaga
Many people would say she is crazy and outrageous with her wardrobe, but I would say she is unique and loves to make a fashion statement. Her name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, but in the music world, she is famously known as Lady Gaga. She had revolutionized the music world with her pop music in the new century. Lady Gaga has recently broken the Billboard Record Charts with the most No. 1 singles from her debut album The Fame. Her No. 1 songs include “Just Dance,” “Pokerface,” “Paparazzi,” and “Bad Romance.” Lady Gaga’s songs are original and are not like any other pop artist. When comparing “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga to “Tik Tok” by Kesha, Lady Gaga has more of a calm tone compared to Kesha rocker tone. Kesha has an image of a rebellious teenager, while Lady Gaga’s image is a well poised woman with an edgy side. After listening to Lady Gaga’s song “Telephone” featuring Beyonce, I imagined the music video being shot at the night club scene, but Lady Gaga thought differently. The lyrics itself says, “Can call all you want but there's no one home and you're not gonna reach my telephone! 'Cause I'm out in the club and I'm sippin' that bub' and you're not gonna reach my telephone.” When the music video for the song “Telephone” was finally released, I was speechless. The setting for this music video was at a prison and later at a coffee diner. Never in a million years would I have thought that this music video would have taken place at a prison just by listening to the lyrics. Her music videos are always memorable because she always does the unexpected. The Rollinstones rate her album The Fame Monster with 4 ½ stars and says “fame monsters needn't concern themselves with originality”. I agree with the Rollingstones’ review. Even though her lyrics and personality do not make any sense, there is just something about Lady Gaga that makes the audience go “Ga Ga.” Her music is worth our time and money because she has had four No. 1 singles on the Billboard Charts from her debut album. Lady Gaga just recently added five No. 1 singles to her name with new song “Telephone” featuring Beyonce just reached No. 1 on the Billboard Charts.

“Theatre of the Mind”
Some of you might know ludacris as a rapper and some of you may know him as an actor. He started out as a rapper and he disappeared from the game to go into the movie business. One of the well known movies that Ludacris is in is the movie “Crash.” Don’t think that because Luda is an actor now that he does not have skills to produce and make good music. His latest album “Theatre of the Mind,” Is a good comeback for Ludacris. Is is not an album that will hit music charts and be in the number one spot but it is a good way to come back into the game and make sure all the other rappers know he’s still here and he’s not going anywhere. Ludacris also likes to think of himself as a ladies’ man. In one of the songs off of the album, “What them girls like,” featuring Chris brown, he tells us exactly how to talk to a girl. “Now some of them want a family, a sense of security, necklace, bracelet and all other types of jewelry.” This quote from the song, “What them girls like,” is a memorable quote because he thinks he knows everything that there is to know about a lady and he is sharing his feeling through the song. The feeling that this album has is accomplishment because the album is complete with a lot of good songs on it. The songs on this album are nothing like Lil Wayne’s songs or Jay-Z songs but they are a definitely catchy song that grabs teenager’s attention. Other reviews that I read talked about the same things. I agree that this is a good comeback album but it is not great as Lil Wayne’s “The Carter III.” Some of the reasoning behind that is Luda does more acting than rapping and someone Such as Lil Wayne and Kanye West make music every single day and that’s the only thing they do. This album is worth the money and if I were you, I would go out and buy it!

The Carter III
A Milli is how many copies The Carter III sold in one week’s time. “A Milli” is also the name of one of his most famous songs. His music has reached radio stations around the world and he is worldwide known by people ages 8-90. Lil Wayne’s hard work and dedication has finally paid off. The young 27 year old hip/hop artist from Holly Grove, New Orleans has accomplished his goal and beat out Kanye West in number of album copies sold. The feeling I get when listening to this album is like no other because Lil Wayne’s music is fun to listen to and no matter how old you are I think that you could find a Lil Wayne song that you enjoy. The songs on this album are not similar to any other artist out there. Lil Wayne has used is determination and creativity to created an album that will be forever talked about in the music industry. In the song “Mr. Carter” featuring famous rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z, Wayne says, “And next time you mention Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z don’t forget to mention Weezy Baby!” He says this because he classifies himself as a great rapper, exactly what he is, and he wants other people to know that he’s the best to ever do it so that’s why he puts himself in the category with Tu Pac, Biggie, and Jay-Z. Other reviews of this album have been very impressive. Rolling stone and Billboard has nothing but excellent things to say about the album. I agree, if I had a few bucks hanging around in my pocket, I would definitely go pick up this album. Overall this album is great. I think this will be his most memorable album yet and the million sales in one week show just how good the album is. I suggest you go buy it because it is definitely worth your money!
Brand New – Daisy Review
For the past 10 years, Jesse Lacey, Vincent Accardi, Garret Tierney, Brian Lane, and Derrick Sherman have been coming together to form the band Brand New. This group from New Jersey has been amazing their loyal fans with their albums “Your Favorite Weapon”, “DĂ©jĂ Entendu” and “The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me”. With the release of their fourth album, Daisy, the five members of Brand New definitaly put a new spin on their music. Unlike their previous albums, this not-so-well known band throws their inner rockers, creativity and edginess out on the table. For example, in the first song on the album, “Vices”, the musical group adds the electric guitar and screaming voices to their normally acoustic sound. Along with the upbeat, edginess of this album, Brand New sticks to their roots with their acoustic and calm music. The calmer, acoustic songs that are featured on this newly released album include “ You Stole”, “Noro” and “Daisy”. While the underground band mixes up this new release with rock, they also add a creepy, dark feeling to some of their songs such as “Gasoline”, “Beds”, “Bought a Bride”, and “At The Bottom”. But, if you’re looking for something different than regular rock and acoustic music, the songs “Be Gone” and “In a Jar” bring out the band’s numerous talents with different sound effects from different instruments and their voices. Overall, this album, which was release in September of 2009, is much different than Brand New’s previous work. With all the different varieties of sounds and music, this album is perfect for the hardcore rocker, the acoustic junkie, the smooth listeners and the people who like just plain weird stuff. Whatever your taste in music is, this album is sure to fulfill your craving and ranks among their top releases.

Muse
Muse is known as a rock band. The trio has put out many albums and singles that are loved all over the world. Their music fills listeners with an incredible sense of spirit and joy. Their music was initially made to please their fans in Europe, where they are originally from. It then became a need to please fans on a global level, so their style of music may have changed just a bit. Many of their songs are simply rock ballads intended for listeners to enjoy. Muse is very similar to Radiohead, and often criticized for copying their music. Both bands are rock bands that pump out hardcore rock ballads. One song that is memorable is their newest single, called Uprising. It was inspired by the G2O protests. They also claim it is a song about being ‘screwed over’ by anyone more powerful than you, which anyone can relate to. It is a medium tempo song that utilizes their abilities to play their instruments. It is very catchy and hard not to like. Another popular song by Muse is Supermassive Black Hole, which was featured in the movie Twilight. It is more intense than Uprising, and features much more guitar. The song is about the bands views on many topics, including politics and global warming. I agree with the critics when they say Muse is an incredible band, but I also agree when they say that Muse 'borrows' much of its music from other bands. But nowadays, it's almost impossible to come up with anything completely original. It's all been done, and it's hard not to see similarities in any two rock bands. As long as you won’t be bored by more rock music, Muse will be worth the money and time you give them. The music they produce is very enjoyable and I think you will very much like it.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is known for her crazy outfits, personality, and music. The songs she sings could fall into multiple genres, but she is mainly seen and referred to as a pop singer. Her songs are almost all played as dance music, and used a lot in clubs. The beats in her songs make it easy music to dance to. Her music is almost impossible not to dance to! Lady Gaga is very often compared to Madonna. They are both very blonde. They both make music that they intend people to dance to. They're both pop singers focused solely on entertaining their audiences. And they both would prefer to not be wearing pants. One of Lady Gaga's songs, Bad Romance was at the top of the charts for an incredibly long time. It uses a jumble of nonsense words mixed with a real message, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The song is about how she is willing to fall victim to the music industry, even though she believes it is a dark, shady thing. Another song of hers, Telephone, featuring Beyonce, is very memorable. It mixes pop with a small amount of techno as well for a very catchy beat. She says the song is an encouragement for her to keep working hard, as well as the meaning the lyrics lay out. I partially agree with other critics' reviews. Many of them say she is only out for attention and fame, but I believe she genuinely wants to entertain and make her fans happy. I agree when they say she is revolutionizing the world of music, and when they say she is one of the best new artists. Purchasing a Lady Gaga CD is very worth the ten to twelve dollars you'd lose. It is very entertaining music, and I believe overall you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Nickelback
Nickelback has been a very influential music group for uprising bands. They were first discovered in the nineties and have been popular ever since. Their music has spread like wild fire, and is mostly considered a rock band though they are not hard enough to be considered heavy metal so their music can be found on pop stations. In their 2009 album, Dark Horse, Chad Kroeger performs the songs on this record by showing different types of emotions such as raunchy destructive behavior and the original power ballads along with a rare mellow song. Nickelback is compared to the other bands that produce fist pumping anthems such as AC/DC, Metallica and Hinder. In common these bands take risks and are not afraid to state things that the public does not accept such as porn stars, strippers and sluts. In the Dark Horse album it has many songs that have been publically made popular due to their catching lyrics and killer choruses. Songs that best displays Nickelback true god-like talents include, “Burn It to the Ground” and “Something in Your Mouth” where the lyrics “Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind/ And try to take the path less traveled.” Nickelback also has the diversity of making songs that impact its listeners such as “If Today Your Last Day” where the listeners are evoked into thinking about where their life is and where they think it should be and whether they can increase their happiness by helping others. In the articles the critics described what makes Nickelback standout from other groups and they embrace their originality and I completely agree with them since Nickelback is different and their masterpieces called songs stick out from others on the radios. In my opinion this record must be owned by everyone that has a music taste, this CD is unique and it is enjoyable to listen to and even though a CD is not live you can still visualize Nickelback rocking out to their melodies.

Miley Cyrus
The teen sensation, Miley Cyrus is well known for her alter-ego Disney character, Hannah Montana. With her 2008 album Breakout, Miley shows off her talents singing to a mixture of genres including, pop, country and rock songs. Throughout the album as listeners, we hear her frustrations of being a teenager and things that teenagers deal with in life such as friends, family, relationships and life in general. With this album, Miley is compared to the Canadian punk pop artist, Avril Lavigne who discusses the same issues in the same tone and attitude in her music. Ms. Cyrus is also compared to Shania Twain a country singer who mixes rock with her songs, which is what Miley did in her song “7 Things” that, is flirty and fun that expresses life issues. In the Breakout album, the popular song “Fly on the Wall” describes a controlling boyfriend and the song “Wake up America” is being called one of the catchiest moments that discuss a world issue about saving the environment. In my opinion, the critics review did not give Miley enough credit on her success of this album saying, “Breakout isn’t as much of a breakthrough as it could be.” Though keep in mind, when the Breakout album was releases, Miley Cyrus was only 15 years old and in that same year she appeared in several movies such as Bolt. She was also keeping busy filming her hit Disney television shows, Hannah Montana. In that year she was also very busy traveling on tour and performing in sold out concerts around the country. In my opinion, it would be worth your time if you definitely purchased the 2008 album Breakout by Miley Cyrus and added it to your music collection due to her talent and the hard work she displays in her TV show, music and life in general.

Rascal Flatts is one of the greatest country singers of all times. Also you can’t forget about his awesome band that helps his great talent. Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bassist), and Joe Don Rooney (guitarist) without this band Rascal Flatts wouldn’t be the same country singer. You couldn’t have the same songs without Don with his smooth and great vocals. Jay being the bassit and Joe with is solo guitar making you just want more… Rascal with his songs makes you feeling sad and left with many mix emotions. Like What hurts the most how he tells you so much in the beginning. “I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don't bother me I can take a few tears now and then and just let ?em out” it left you leaving questions in the beginning but left answer at the end of the song. Even with this song many emotions are left like sad, anger, and regret. Because how he sings it and just the lyrics it self tells you a whole story and How Joe plays his solos so well and man did he just blows you away with his solo making you want more. Another song is Sara Beth this song is about a teenage girl that finds out she has cancer. “Sara Beth is scared to death Cause the doctor just told her the news Between the red cells and white Something's not right” this lyric just gave you some of the answers. These to songs Sara Beth and What hurts the most are memorable because it everyday life people get cancer like Sara Beth and people are left with regret not saying what they wanted to say people before it too late and gone especially with What hurts the most it hit homes for me because I didn’t get to tell a love one I love them but they left never knowing that. I agree with the critics because the critics speak the truth Rascal Flatts keeps on impressing us with his songs when you think he won’t. My overall opinion is that you should listen to his music and buy his CDs because they are worth the time and the money to do so. Also this is another country singer making you want more.

Carrie Underwood was born on March 19, 1983 and was discover on American Idol on season 4. Which has help her career to become the most wonderful country singer. Carrie has many feels in her songs. Before he cheats has a feel of revenge. They way she describe how he cheat and what she did to his truck “I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive” Some emotions that are evoked are anger and regret. But does she hit home with the song “temporary home” hitting many emotions like a little of anger, and a over welling sadness. It makes you left feeling sorry for the people that is describe in the song. Some lyrics that in temporary home are “Little boy, 6 years old A little too used to bein' alone Another new mom and dad, another school Another house that'll never be home” In this little lyric it told you almost the whole story of the boy story. It told you he a foster kid and he’s been moved around a lot. I agree with the critics because they tell it like it is. Carrie Underwood has such a unique country voice and most of her songs leave you thinking about your own life and some of the characters she talks about in her songs. My opinion is that Carrie Underwood is one of the greatest country singer that always leaves you amazed and wanting to listening more of her music. I don’t have only one favorite song but I love all of Carrie songs but one so that I love the most right now is temporary home because of the music and the way she sings it. Like she telling a story but in such a gently and unharming voice. It is worth the time and money because she does sing about realistic things happening in the world. Also her songs don’t get old and boring you can listen to it over and over.

Breaking Benjamin:
This is no ordinary rock band. This is a band that is quickly making a name for themselves, after starting out as a small local band in Pennsylvania. Lead vocalist Benjamin Burnley formed the band in 1998, and after a few minor tweaks to the crew, they took off in 2002 after signing with Hollywood records. They released their debut album “Saturate” later that year, and though it did not have any can’t-miss hits, it certainly got the band name out there, led by their first single, Polyamorous. Their first big break came off their second album, when hit song So Cold’s video was a promotional video for hit movie Hellboy. One of my favorite songs, “Diary of Jane”, is about a man that is trying to get the attention of this girl named Jane. The song relates to everyday life to men out there that have that secret crush, and talks about the efforts that are made to get her attention, and finding out her interests, all without being too obvious about it. The general opinions among reviews were that the band is starting to just “show off” their talents with this song. Their latest hit “I Will Not Bow”, is not only one of my favorite rock songs, but one of my favorite songs in general. The song is somewhat depressing, as it refers to the emotions of so many people in the world today. I think it means that there is so much wrong doing in this world, that the people out there with the desire to do good, they do not have the drive, or ability to make a major change. One thing I think that could have added to the song is for it to offer a solution to this problem. Reviews said that it was just a catchy chorus, but I think overall it is a good song. Critics everywhere say that Breaking Benjamin is rocketing up the charts, and quickly becoming one of the most popular rock bands around. I tend to agree, and think that if you area a fan of Rock music, you should definitely spend the money to buy an album, and listen to the lyrics. Well worth the time.

Lil Wayne:
Dwayne Carter has quickly jumped to the top of the hip-hop world, and grabbed it by the throat. He often calls himself the best rapper alive, and to this day, nobody has challenged him for that title. He has now dropped 4 solo albums, Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III, and Rebirth, his latest rap-rock album. Some of his major hits from the albums include Go DJ, Fireman, Hustler Musik, A Milli, Got Money, Lollipop, and Prom Queen. Though these are the hits, few songs from theses albums will disappoint. Also, in between the release dates of these albums, he is always releasing a new mixtape. His latest mixtape, No Ceilings includes remixes to various artists’ hits, such as Ice Cream Paintjob, Swag Surfin, Wasted, Run This Town, I Gotta Feeling, and much more. Though some of his songs are fairly pointless lyrically, some of his songs do include some songs with emotional meaning to him. Such as “3 Peat” where he refers to the days when he promised his mother that he would make it, and provide a better life for his family. He says “when I was fourteen I told my mom we will see better days. And sure enough, we did exactly what I say”. He takes lots of pride in doing that, and shows his mother great appreciation, and has even created a song dedicated to mothers all over the world, thanking them. In “3 Peat”, he also raps about his near death experience as a child, when he accidently shot himself at the age of 13, saying “two more inches I’da been in that casket. According to the doctor I could have died in traffic”. Many other reviews out there declare him as the best freestyle rapper alive, and I find a hard time disagreeing with them. I definitely think his greatness is well worth our time and money, and his status will remain unchanged for years to come.

Within Temptation
Within Temptation is a Dutch Gothic Metal band formed in 1996. The “feel” of their albums vary for each one. Their first album released “Enter” can be described as gloomy, slow moving, and beautiful, driven by heavy, thundering guitars combined with Sharon’s soft, tantalizing voice. Their second album “Mother Earth” has more orchestrations and no longer has the grunting that “Enter” had. “Mother Earth” has two types of tracks, tracks similar to their first album, and sensitive beautiful songs. “The Silent Force” CD is a newer direction from their first two albums. Their songs on this album could be considered slicker and more direct then on the other two. And finally we have “The Heart of Everything” Their most recent CD, aside from some live versions. This CD brings them into the realm of mainstream success, making it easy to compare them to Evanescence. One of the songs from the “Heart of Everything”, All I Need, is a love song where Sharon sings of multiple tries at love (I tried many times but nothing was real make it fade away, don’t tear me down.) and her hope that this one is the real thing. (Don’t tear me down for all I need, make my heart a better place give me something I can believe. Don’t tear it down what’s left of me make my heart a better place.) A bonus track from their CD “The Silent Force”, Jane Doe, is a break up song where the girl never leaves the mind of the boy (Why? You just won’t leave my mind. Was this the only way? I couldn’t let you stay.) and no matter what he does to remove her from his thought’s she just keeps coming back(No matter how many stones you put inside, she always keeps on floating in your mind, with every turn of your head you see her face again, until the end, over and over again.) Some critics would say they have degraded away from their original CD that they are no longer the same band, I however disagree. Certainly their newer CD’s, “The Silent Force” and ”Heart of Everything”, have taken them into mainstream, but they still manage to keep their same old style at heart. Having Sharon’s voice still soaring to amazing heights only compared to Simone Simons, Epica’s front woman, or Tarja Turunen, Nightwish’s ex-front woman. They still have their same old orchestrations; they just no longer have a great emphasis as they did before. If you are interested in listening to Within Temptation, I suggest you start with their newer stuff, since it’s the closest the band gets to a rock sort of sound.

Evanescence
Evanescence is a Gothic Metal Rock band that originated in Little Rock, Arkansas. The feel of their two albums, “Fallen” and “The Open Door” vary, they could be songs of relationships gone wrong, simple sinful pleasures (Lose Control), and the occasional few that are love based songs (Bring Me to Life). Evanescence could be compared to Linkin Park. Their song Bring Me to Life is surprising similar to most of Linkin Park’s songs, with its rap-rocker sounds. The song Bring Me to Life is about a broken hearted woman, or man I suppose, who has lost their care for the world (How can you see into my eyes, like open doors? Leading you down into my core, where I’ve become so numb) and, yet still hope that one day someone will find there lost soul and bring them back to life (Without a soul, my spirits sleeping somewhere cold until you find it and bring it back home.) Turns out that the person that she, or he, was looking for was always right there beside them (All this time, I can't believe I couldn't see, kept in the dark but you were there in front of me I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems, got to open my eyes to everything.) Most of Evanescence songs are about a break up; the most notable one is Call Me When You’re Sober. In the opening lines, Amy sings of a cheating boyfriend (Don’t cry to me, if you loved me, you would be here with me. You want me, come find me, make up your mind) and the girl catches him cheating on her (You can’t play the victim this time, and you’re too late) so she breaks up with the guy, thought he continues to call her (You never call me when you’re sober, you only want it cause it’s over, it’s over.) Most critics say you can easily create another Evanescence like band, just add the right amount of gothic eye liner, and deader than dead skin, and you’ve got it. Is this true? In some ways, yes. All of Evanescence’s songs are personal in some way or another to their singer, Amy Lee. So anyone who has gone though enough break ups and heart aches could easily become the next Evanescence. The deader than dead skin, the gothic eye liner, they just add to the person, what really makes up a band, are the songs. So is Evanescence worth your time? Only if you are into listening to songs of heart break and agony.

Ludacris- battle of the sexes
Ludacris first rap album was in 2000 called “back for the first time” 6 albums later and 24 million records sold worldwide. Luda made an album about battle of the sexes. This album has many different points of views between men and women rappers. In this album you will see Nicki minaj, Lil Kim, Eve, Trina, Shawnna, Ciara, Ne-Yo, Manica, Flo-rida, and Plies. When Luda makes a song he makes them hard all of his songs from the first album to the album he just made. But threw of his albums and songs he does make some that have a lot of meaning. One of his songs called “Run Away Love” the reason why I picked this song is because teenagers today are getting pregnant at a young age. And this song fits it perfect. Ludacris makes a lot of good work compared to other artist that when they make songs they don’t even know half of the stuff there saying. But Luda makes some really good songs with a good beat with it. There have been a lot of movies where his music has been in it like 2 fast 2 furious, bad boys 2, ATL, and you got served. His new album battle of the sexes was a good one over all I would have to give it a B because there were a lot more things he could have said and maybe made more of his songs unique and way more out there. But over all I think this album is worth your time and money so I would recommend going out and buying the album for yourself.

T.I –Paper Trails
T.I grew up in the ATL and from there he hit the top. In 2001 T.I come out with his first album call “serious” from that album 7 years later he came up with Paper Trails. This album was about the lost of one of his close home boys that died by getting shot. He knew if he kept up with the way he was going he would end up with the same fate. In this album T.I talks about switching up his gangbanger life and become a real man. T.I is way different then other artist because he raps about what is happening and what’s real compared to Lil Wayne who raps and says what ever and most of it don’t even have real meanings to it. Like in one of T.I songs he says “no more stress, now I’m straight now I get it, now I take time to think before I make mistakes just for my family stake, that part of me left yesterday the heart of me is strong today, no regrets I’m blessed to say the old me dead and gone away”. He says this because whatever you do in the pass will only make you stronger. T.I raps about what feelings he has so in is album a lot of his feelings are relating with the world and all the problems that we face today between gangs, drugs, and about how we lose people in life. This album has some familiar faces you will see Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake. Over all I would agree with the article and would give it a B. I think this album is really worth the time to listen to it and way worth your money.
