Brand New – Daisy Review
For the past 10 years, Jesse Lacey, Vincent Accardi, Garret Tierney, Brian Lane, and Derrick Sherman have been coming together to form the band Brand New. This group from New Jersey has been amazing their loyal fans with their albums “Your Favorite Weapon”, “Déjà Entendu” and “The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me”. With the release of their fourth album, Daisy, the five members of Brand New definitaly put a new spin on their music. Unlike their previous albums, this not-so-well known band throws their inner rockers, creativity and edginess out on the table. For example, in the first song on the album, “Vices”, the musical group adds the electric guitar and screaming voices to their normally acoustic sound. Along with the upbeat, edginess of this album, Brand New sticks to their roots with their acoustic and calm music. The calmer, acoustic songs that are featured on this newly released album include “ You Stole”, “Noro” and “Daisy”. While the underground band mixes up this new release with rock, they also add a creepy, dark feeling to some of their songs such as “Gasoline”, “Beds”, “Bought a Bride”, and “At The Bottom”. But, if you’re looking for something different than regular rock and acoustic music, the songs “Be Gone” and “In a Jar” bring out the band’s numerous talents with different sound effects from different instruments and their voices. Overall, this album, which was release in September of 2009, is much different than Brand New’s previous work. With all the different varieties of sounds and music, this album is perfect for the hardcore rocker, the acoustic junkie, the smooth listeners and the people who like just plain weird stuff. Whatever your taste in music is, this album is sure to fulfill your craving and ranks among their top releases.
