Paranormal activity is a very scary movie that is filled suspenseful moments. I totally agree with Brandon’s review at some points. The whole move was basically about Micah and is girlfriend Kate. Throughout the movie they were shooting themselves, trying to find and record evidence that there was truly a ghost living with them or following Kate. They were making noises and yelling to get the ghost to react, which was not entertaining to me. I do agree with Brandon, except the part where he says that it was a good movie, when I went to watch it I was very unhappy with the work they had done mostly because the fact that the main attraction was about the two couple and the ghost that followed Kate around. They did well on acting making it seem like it was real and made the movie pretty intense. Honestly, even though the movie was low budget was pretty good just like Brandon states, but I also think that it wasn’t worth paying for, I would of prefer to watch it on DVD, and the only part that had me shocked was at the end when Kate and her boyfriend disappeared by ghost other than that I was very disappointed.

Dark knight is one of the most action film movies and suspense movies that was ever made and I 100% agree with Robin. The whole time you watch Dark Knight your wonder what will Joker do next because Joker was the type of character making his own decisions. I also know that Heath Ledger was the best Joker of all times. He played his role as if he was truly the Joker. He even got the laugh pin point he sounded insane and evil, it was just so believable. But Heath Ledger passed away of which is believed to be a drug overdose. People were saying that he played the role so well that in reality he believes that he was Joker making him believe that he was immortal. The other main character Batman played by Christian Bale. He also played his character very well he was the hero that keep you wondering for a little bit. For example when he had to decided if he was going to save his best friend Harvey from the warehouse filled with bombs and explosive or if he was going across town to save his the girl he love dearly and remember he can only save one with the time he was giving. You would think he would save his love. But I won’t ruin it for you, so let’s just say he was left with the hardest decision. I would give Dark Knight 5 stars it was worth watching and even for those who are not so into batman I believe that this movie will make you love batman and you would not regret spending your money.

I would have to agree with Maggie that the Titanic was one of the best character driven movies of all time. It has all the ingredients of a great classic movie. Nobody could have played the role of Jack Dawson better than Leonardo DiCaprio. His good looks and charm captured the audience from beginning to end. Kate Winslet, who played the society girl, Rose DeWitt, was also perfectly cast for the part. Her natural beauty captured what beauty must have looked like in 1912. Specifically, her pale, translucent skin and curved body. The Titanic was a beautiful ship that was considered “unsinkable”. In comparison, the love between Jack and Rose was beautiful and unsinkable. However, the Titanic did not sail without difficulty, it hit an iceberg and began the slow decent to the bottom of the ocean, taking everything with it. Jack and Rose’s relationship also hit many obstacles, including the rich, mean fiancĂ©, Cal, and Rose’s mother who was willing to give up her daughter’s happiness for the security of Cal’s wealth. There was also the obstacle of Jack being poor and Rose being a society girl. Even though Rose loved Jack she felt conflict over leaving Cal because she felt an obligation to her mother. Jack, loving Rose so much, felt conflict over taking her from a wealthy future with Cal to a future where he had only love to offer her. I believe the main theme is that love lives forever. Their love stayed alive even after the Titanic sunk. Their short love affair had a huge influence on Rose’s life. Many of the adventures she had in her life after the Titanic sunk were due to the “life” instilled in her by Jack’s love. Their love was unsinkable. Even at a very old age she still loved Jack.

Well many of you(girls), I’m sure have seen the movie dear john starring Channing Tatum. In the movie Tatum plays a young solider boy named john. John and Savannah (played by Amanda Seyfried) fall in love in just two weeks whole he was on leave and she was on college break. While they both return to their previous locations, they keep in touch by writing each other letter. They write to each other on how they and what they are doing, but like my father says, “distant love is for dummies”. later in the movie they end up becoming distant, well more her with him. She stops writing him for a couple of months then finally when john received a letter from her she writes to him that she’s leaving him and she’s moved on. You see throughout the movie how they’re relationship developed then how it ended up going down hill. I’m my opinion Channing Tatum and Amanda seyfried played there parts really well. Tatum plays a soldier and that’s a good role for him because he looks good in the army suit! Amanda also does a good job playing her part as the waiting girlfriend who just finally moves on and was tired of being alone. I haven’t read the book the movie is based off but other critics say that the movie is weightless and the relationship between john and savannah is not the same in the movie as it is in the book. Critics have said that the movie Dear John was a perfunctory weepie, a determinedly uninteresting, sanded down, prettied -up adaption of the novel, they rated it a C+ but I think the movie at least deserved a B+ because I know many people who went to go see it and they liked it a lot. Not everyone has read the book so they wont know the difference between the movie and the book, as long as the audience likes it then it was a good movie.

I absolutely agree with the blog written on the movie My sisters keeper. It was also on of my favorite movies, It made me very emotional. This movie to me was really good and in a way I could kind of relate since I had a family member who died of cancer and it was very difficult. The actors played their parts very well as the family members dealing with their daughter/sister dying of leukemia. I agree that before I saw the movie, I could not see Cameron Diaz playing the role of the mother fighting to keep her sick daughter alive, but after watching the movie she couldn’t have played the part any better. My favorite character from the movie was Anna Fitzgerald, the sister of the sick daughter. This role was played by Abigail Brelin, she was so convincing playing the part of the daughter who wanted to emancipate herself from her parents so they wouldn’t take anymore of her bone marrow and such to keep her sick sister alive. The movie showed how the family went through a lot , each having their own ways dealing with having to accept the fact that they’re daughter/sister was going to die. I really don’t care what the other critics have to say because if I liked the movie enough to go se it twice in theaters then it must have been a great movie! I give it an A+.

The movie pursuit of happiness was a great movie and is a classic. The movie shows the life of someone else and how bad things could be. Will smith did a great job, like always. He really gets into his characters and plays his parts well. I didn’t know that the kid in the movie was actually his real son that probably makes it a lot of fun on the movie set. Obviously Will Smith and his son have a good bond and it is easier to act together. I do not think that the critics could have said anything bad about this movie, I did not see any sources where you found your reviews, and I would be interested to see what they said. I agree that the films theme is stick with it no matter what the situation. I think another them is money and possessions do not matter, the people in your life are the ones that matter the most. I agree this is a must see movie just because Will Smith is a great actor and also this movie leaves you inspired to live a better life and love the ones around you not the stuff you have around you.

I agree completely with Abbie. My Sister’s Keeper is definitely one of my top favorite movies of the recent year. My Sister’s Keeper is about a dysfunctional family with three children. Their eldest happens to be suffering from leukemia, and their youngest was made in a lab to be, basically, spare parts for the eldest. The youngest, Anna, sues her parents for medical emancipation, so she doesn’t have to donate bone marrow to her sister, Kate. The movie shows a lot of flashbacks of the family. The ending has quiet the twist, which I won’t spoil for those who haven’t seen this movie, which reveals the characters true intention in the movie. As for acting, I’ll admit, that I had not heard of Sofia Vassilieva and Abigail Breslin until I had seen this movie, so I can’t really critic them well, they both played their roles quiet well is what I do have to say about them, though. As for Cameron Diaz, I must admit I was kind of iffy on her. I really didn’t think she’d have what it would take to play a mother of a dysfunctional family. However she did prove me wrong, now I can’t picture anyone else playing that role! As for themes I think it would be learning to let go can be the hardest thing ever, at least that’s what I took away from this film, which is true. This movie is worth see at least once, if not more.

I completely agree with everything Hailley about the movie Finding Nemo. This movie is most definatly worth the buy. This is a great family film for people of all sorts and ages. It teaches fantastic life lessons about friends, family, life and choosing the right path. It can teach adults to spend time with their loved ones and care about their famililies as well as teaching children to be great friends and listen to their parents. I am also a fan of the actors chosen for this animantion. All of the characters from hungry sharks to colorful fish to radical turtles really made this movie stand out in my mind as well as the critics. Ellen DeGeneres was a great additon to the film as well. She played a forgetful, absent-minded fish perfectly and was a great companion to , Marlin, the clown fish on the long journey to find his son, Nemo. As I said before, this is a great movie that can be watched over and over again with family and friends and teaches amazing life lessions for people of all ages. Finding Nemo is a movie that is certain to please anyone, anywhere, any time.

The story of the great Titanic ship that hit a iceburg and sank in April 1912 is known worldwide. When the 1997 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet came out it was a reality to the viewers of what really happened that night that history went to the bottom of the ocean. During this film we follow the memorable experience of Rose DeWitt (played by Kate Winslet) and her uprising love for Jack. Their experiences together are memorable but the night the Titanic hit the iceberg their fight to survive is even more astonishing to viewers. Throughout the movie we witness the tragedy play out and the choices and sacrifices people made to survive or die. Titanic was the highlight of Kate Winslet where her talents bloomed and she triggered our emotions when she was sad, happy or scared. Also, this classic film ignited Leonardo DiCaprio career after we saw his passion for Rose and his sacrifice he was willing to make for her which won the viewers vote for him as a timeless hero and Romeo. This classic movie had the overall theme of survival whether it mean surviving love or surviving life. This remarkable film is hard for any critic to give a bad review because the characters drive the story to tell the truth about this tragic accident that most people wouldn’t ever dream of surviving but we connect with Rose and Jack as their survival is fueled by each others’ love for one another. Everyone should watch this movie at least once to admire the great talent that went into producing such a timeless classic and to make viewers think of what would they do in a life or death situation and would the love for someone else be worth saving them even if it means dying yourself.

Robert did a good job explaining The Pursuit of Happiness. I agree with him that it is a very powerful movie that keeps you motivated to follow your dreams. I also agree that the actors especially Will Smith did an amazing job playing their roles. The boy in the movie also did a really good job too. I think it helped that he is Will Smiths son in real life. I think it helped them connect better in the movie because they know each other so well. The theme that Robert stated is the biggest one, do not give up and keep pushing forward, no matter what. The movie shows all the hardships and problems a family can go through. It showed all the fights and arguments real families go through. Situations that they are in can connect to a lot of families out there but maybe not quite as severe. All families go through rough times and watching this movie makes you realize how good we have it. Watching this movie can make you think twice about your attitude and actions. Overall this movie has a good story, good actors and actresses and a very good lesson that almost everyone can get out of it. I agree that this is a “must see” movie.

WOW!!! Reading Robin’s blog about Twilight made me laugh!! I have to agree with Robin’s blog post about this movie, because the movie did not live up to my expectations. While reading the book, Stephanie Meyer’s writing filled my imagination with endless possibilities of the character Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Kristen Stewart who played Bella Swan in the movie did an absolutely horrific job at portraying Bella Swan in the movie. Personal, I do not think that Kristen Stewart can act at all from watching the other movies that she has been in. As Robin said, “Bella was a strong, confident girl in the book, while in the movie she was a scared, timid baby,” I strongly agree with Robin’s opinion. In the movie, Kristen Stewart made Bella Swan an awkward character. Everything that Bella did, from talking to associating with other was awkward. In the book, Bella and Edward are anything but awkward towards one another, but the movie did the opposite. Can you say “Awkward turtle?” Robert Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen in Twilight, did an exceptional job at portraying his character. Edward was a shy, but confident character. He kept to himself and did not associate with others unless he needed to. As Robin say, the theme to his movie is love conquers all. Edward and Bella did not let their differences (being a vampire and human) stop them from falling in love. Entertainment Weekly rates Twilight with a “B.” I do not agree with this rating and would rate the movie a “D” because it did not meet my expectations. What I will give them is an “A” for effort. The movie is not worth anyone’s time or money. I would have to agree with Robin and say spend your money on the book, because the book is much better than the movie!

My Sisters Keeper is a very good movie. When I watched this movie it for sure made me think of a lot of things. It made me think about the life I live compared to the life that the family in the movie lives. The family has a very hard time because one of the girls has cancer and if the younger sister doesn’t give her a kidney, then she will die. I realized that my life is good and that I am lucky that everything with my family is going good. The movie has no violence or cursing just like Abbie said and this is a good thing. A family could sit down with their kids no matter what age and watch the movie without having to worry about their little ones seeing or hearing something that is inappropriate for them to hear. This movie is filled with heart touching moments. If you don’t find this movie sad and touching to the heart, then there is definitely something wrong with you. There is also some funny moments in the movie but not too many. It is sad that the little sister requests a lawyer because she doesn’t want to give her kidney to her sister with cancer. This shows that she is greedy and I think the theme of the movie is, help others and you will also be helped. My Sisters Keeper is definitely a movie I would go out and spend my money on. If you getting sick of the action movies or movies with cursing in them, then take your family or even a girlfriend and go out and watch this great movie! I’m sure you will love it and watch it more than once!

Finding Nemo is a very good movie to show the message and theme of the importance of family and friends in life. I think the movie demonstrates this message more than any of the other ones. Marlins strong will and determination to find little Nemo demonstrate this theme greatly. Also, Dory helping Marlin, the fish at the dentist office that help Nemo, and even Crush and Squirt, who help Marlin and Dory along on their journey for Nemo. I think the way the movie displayed how children act towards overprotective parents, like Marlin, very well too. Children want to exert their independence, just like Nemo did by swimming to the dangerous area just to defy his dad. Marlin trying so desperately to save Nemo shows that parents will always love you, even if you defy and disobey them. Children and adults both can definitely benefit from viewing this movie, because the theme is not only meant for young children, but could be for teens and adults as well. Critics mostly say that Finding Nemo is a wonderful adventure that people everywhere will enjoy. The critics are right. Finding Nemo is a fun, whimsical adventure that you can enjoy alone, or in the presence of your friends and loved ones. Hailley expresses this very well in her review of Finding Nemo.

Miley Cyrus stars in the new movie called “The last song.” This is a romantic filled comedy movie that all the girls are going crazy for! It is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, who also wrote the screenplay. Miley, who Plays Ronnie in the movie is a teenage girl that is upset with her life. Her parents recently got a divorce and she is upset with her life right now. She even had a music career planned for her but she is giving that up because of her parents’ divorce. When Miley and her brother go to their dad’s house for the summer, Miley lightens up a little because she meets a boy who will have a great impact on her life. Now that she is dating Will (Liam Hemsworth) she becomes a little happier. She even starts to talk with her dad and also her little brother. Things then get to be a little tough when she finds out that her dad has been suffering from cancer and he has only a few more weeks to live. Ronnie starts to hang out with her dad and realizes that he maybe won’t be there for her a few weeks away. I won’t give away the rest of the story so I guess you will have to watch the movie to find out for yourself. Other reviews say this movie is excellent and I agree with them. The movie is sort of a “chick flick,” but I think any guy that watches the movie would find it enjoyable. So to all the guys out there, take your girlfriend out on a nice date and watch this movie. This movie is definitely your money’s worth and I would definitely go out and watch it. So if you have a few extra dollars laying around, go out and see this movie!

This was a low-budget movie that was originally released to just 13 college towns. But word quickly spread about this creepy movie, that it was later released to the rest of the country. The movie is about a young couple, Micah and Katie, that decide to try to further their knowledge on the paranormal happenings that they had been experiencing in their home. So they go out and get a video camera to set up at night to record, and hopefully find some solid evidence. They also bring in a psychic, who recommends that they seek further professional help. But Micah, who is kind of mad that Katie decided until after they moved in together to tell him about this “ghost” that has been following her, her entire life, thinks that he can get the spirit to leave them alone on his own. Throughout the movie, he constantly calls out to the entity, provoking it, which just makes things worse. The movie is made, to look like it was shot entirely by his camera, so the characters had to make it seem like a real, homemade movie. I think the actors did a very good job of this, and the movie does seem like something that any individual off the street could have shot. The movie’s #1 purpose was to scare people, which it succeeded at. I think a message that can be taken from the movie is to make sure you know everything about someone before you go and move in together, because it’s good to know exactly what you are getting yourself into. Movie critics everywhere raved that this was one of the scariest movies ever made, and gave it a very high rating. It’s hard to not give props to such a low-budget movie that had the success that they did. I also thought that it was a great movie, with suspenseful moments that leave you scratching your head. I personally loved the movie, and think it is well worth the money.

The Blind Side is a movie about Michael Oher’s life growing up and in high school he learns to play football because of his tremendous size and strength, and eventually developing his skills enough to get him into a great college on a football scholarship. It shows the struggles of growing up in poverty, as his mom can’t afford to raise him, so he would live on the streets. That’s when a rich family, played by Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, invite him to come live with them, and welcome him into their life as a part of the family.
Michael Oher is played by Quinton Aaron, who I think did a great job playing the “gentle giant” in the movie. I tend to think that it is more difficult to act as a character telling a story about a real person’s life, rather than a fictional character’s. But I think he did a great job. Tim McGraw was the father of the family that welcomes Michael into their home. He did a great job of showing how dad’s in real life push their children to success. McGraw’s father played in the big leagues with the Phillies, so he probably knew first hand about father’s pushing their sons in athletics. Finally, I think Sandra Bullock’s part as the loving mother that originally came up with the idea of bringing Michael into the house, and she did it perfectly. I think she was perfect for the part.
This movie was made to show that no matter how rough your childhood is, you can always rise above to success if you set your mind to it. Critics seemed to think that the movie was very inspirational, and did a great job of showing his life story. I must agree. I thought this was one of the best movies of all time, and well worth your money.

Yes Man is a film about living live to the fullest as well as doing what you want. In this movie, the man character, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is a long-time bank employee. After getting a divorce with his wife three years earlier, Carl becomes a plain, predictable, boring homebody who spends all of his time at home and watching movies. After a run in with an old work buddy, Carl decides to go to a Yes seminar. At this seminar, Carl learns to say yes to everything in life. Even to the simplest decision. The answer is yes. Throughout his crazy road of yes, Carl learns to fly planes, play guitars, ride a scooter as well as different languages. He learns many valuable life lessons and meets some great and amazing friends along the way. One of them includes his new girlfriend, Allison (Zooey Deschanel), who is a free spirit, scooter riding, photographer who also love to be spontaneous. Carrey and Deschanel definitely bring this movie to life with laughs and spunkiness. Some other unforgettable characters in this film include Molly Sims, Bradley Cooper and Luis Guzman. The main theme in this movie is to live life the way you want to live it. This can be done by doing everything you can possibly do. Meet new people, try new things and just be happy with who you are. The critics gave it an average grade of a C I would have to agree with them. While the movie did give us all a good life lesson, Carrey has had a lot humorous movies in the past. Bottom line: Yes man is a good movie to rent to make you laugh, but if you’re looking to buy a Jim Carrey movie, look back to his older films.

The Dark night is the sequel to the movie Batman Begins, it is filled with two hours and 32minuets of action scenes that quiver madly out of control all created by one of the best malicious characters ever, The Joker, who is played by heath ledger. The joker is a vengeful criminal who wears smeary clown makeup to cover up his scarred smile, he wants the world to feel all the pain he feels, he takes crime to a whole other level. The Joker performs these acts of demonic crimes to show that no amount of nobility can hold in a world of disorder. The Man who “completes” the joker is non-other than Batman, who is played by Christian Bale. Batman wears a black body suit that is pretty much resistant against anything, he also wears a cape that is made of some really light fabroc that lets him “fly” when he jumps off buildings. He has many cool cars and gadgets because his family owns a “empire” and he is really rich and the only wayne left in the family so he runs everything pretty much and the things his family did was come up with new weapopns and such so he has all these body suits and arm fire that was too expensive for the military to afford for their soldiers so that’s whst he uses. In one part of the movie The Joker tells Batman “I don’t want to kill you! What would I do without you? ….no, no, NO! You complete me”. Since Batman is pretty much the only one that is able to take down the joker he makes everything so much more fun for the joker. Ripping off mobsters is too boring for the joker, his intrests isnt money, what he likes to do is to create Chaos. In the movie he took Gothem’s white night and brought him down into the dark side, he says to batman, “I took Gothems white night and brought him down to our level. It wasn’t hard. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!.” Gothems white night is Harvey Dent and he becomes “two face” because in the movie him and another character Rachel were kidnapped and put into two separate locations and they had to choose who they would save because they were tied up and put into rooms with gasoline barrels and they tried to save both but they got to him quicker and Rachel died, so now he wants to get back at the people who let her die because that was his fiance. This movie i would have to say would be one of my top favorites, its filled with excitment and had me intrested.

The Fast and the Furious-Tokyo Drift is an intense street racing movie about a boy named Sean that is involved in street racing. Sean lives with his mom and has gotten himself into some racing trouble. After he ruins a car, he is told not to race again, however, he does not listen to this and he starts to race again. He then gets in a very bad car accident and is forced to go to Tokyo to live with his dad, in hopes that he will stop racing. Sean did a very good job in this movie, he is basically a redneck that gets sent to live with a lot of asian people and at first, he does not fit in well at all with all the kids in Tokyo, but he does a good job of playing the part of someone that does not fit in. Another main character in this movie is DK, which stands for Drift King. He is really big into racing as well, and it is very hard for anybody to beat him in a race. Some of his traits are that he is very competitive, and when someone tries to beat him in a race, he plays dirty. He is also motivated in this movie to keep the girls all wanting him. If someone were to beat him in a race, the girls would start liking that other person instead of him.
Some themes in this movie are that you shouldn’t be too over confident. DK was very confident that nobody would beat him and his over confidence got him into trouble in the end. Another theme in this movie is that if you want to become good at it, you have to work really hard for it. Sean had no idea how to drift when he got to Tokyo, and the only way for him to be good at it was to spend hours learning and practicing how to do it.
Critics rated this movie a D+, which I personally disagree with. It was well put together and had a good plot. It had a lot of action and kept me watching and trying to guess what would happen next. Overall, this movie is well worth seeing. If you want to see an exciting, action packed racing movie, then this is the movie to see.

The Hangover is about a group of four wild guys who take a road trip for Doug’s bachelorette party to Vegas. The movie shows them arriving to their hotel where they are staying but then skips to the next morning. They wake up in their trashed room with everything out of place, a tiger in their bathroom, a baby in their closet and the groom is nowhere to be found. With not knowing what happened the previous night, they must find out where the tiger and baby came from, and most importantly, find their friend Doug.
The main characters are Phil played by Bradley Cooper, Stu played by Ed Helms, Alan played by Zach Galifianakis and Doug played by Justin Bartha. In the movie, Phil was the one who stood out because he dressed well and had a nice family. Stu was a dorky dentist who gets made fun of a lot because he does anything his girlfriend wants him to do. Alan stands out because he is more wild and crazy then the other characters. And Doug is the one who is getting married. He is more calm and laid back because he wants everything to go smoothly.
Watching this group of friends is hilarious to guess what they will do next. You will notice all the problems they face and how they all overcome it. They work together to get everything figured out and back to normal. The theme is to pick good friends who will stick with you until the end. Critics rated this movie a B which I disagree with. It had a good plot, funny characters, and actors who played them very well. I think it deserved an A. The Hangover is an awesome movie that is defiantly worth the time and money.

Thirteen years in the making, the movie Avatar is a must see movie. In the movie, Sam Worthington plays Jake Sully, a paraplegic who is on a mission to explore the world of Pandora. Pandora is a completely different world compared to Earth and is the home of avatars. Sam Worthington does an exceptional job during his performance as Jake. Sam Worthington plays Jake as a human in the real world, but when Jake is an avatar, Sam is the voice of Jake. In order for Jake to go into Pandora as an avatar, he must go into a machine that transfers his mind into his avatar body. Jake has the personality of a helpful, determined, and open minded person. When Jake discovers what the human want to do to Pandora, he helps the avatars fight against the humans. As for being determined and open minded, Jake must learn the way of being an avatar. He does not give up when learning the avatar’s language or finding his bond with Pandora’s nature. While on his journey to become an avatar, Jake meets Neytiri, a real avatar in Pandora. Jake follows Neytiri’s guidance in becoming an avatar. Neytiri is a supportive character that has faith in everyone around her. She believes that Jake will learn the avatar’s way. When the humans and avatars go into war about Pandora’s land and nature, who will win? If you want to know that answer, you should watch Avatar. The theme to this movie that the audience will get is to fight back for what you believe in. Entertainment Weekly rates Avatar with a “B.” I agree with their rating because this movie his fantastic. The graphic used in Avatar are so vivid that it seems like you are actually in Pandora. Everything in the movie Avatar are lifelike, such as the avatars, animals, nature, and weapons. Avatar is worth the time and money to watch because it is something a person has not viewed in their lifetime. I am not a fan of fantasy movies, but this is a movie that I enjoyed watching a lot.

Based on a true story, The Blind Side is an inspirational movie that is driven by the characters and their motivation in life. There are several main characters in the movie, but the storyline revolves around Leigh Anne Tuohy and Michael Oher. Sandra Bullock plays Leigh Anne Touhy in The Blind Side and does a phenomenal job at portraying her. Sandra Bullock was named “Best Actress” and won an Oscar for her performance as Leigh Anne Touhy. In the movie, Leigh Anne Touhy is a wealthy woman who brings home a less fortunate boy named Michael Oher played by Quinton Aaron. Leigh Anne is determined to help Michael graduate from high school, pursue a dream of playing football, and further is education in college. When Michael met Leigh Ann for the first time, he was intimidated by Leigh Anne’s strong personality. Leigh Anne is the type of woman who does not take ‘No’ as an answer and loves helping others. Michael has the complete opposite personality compared to Leigh Anne; he is more reserved and shy. Growing up in the ghetto of Memphis, Michael was not exposed too much of an education. So, when Leigh Anne takes Michael under her wings, she learned about his educational disability. Leigh Anne was determined to help Michael achieve in high school, so she hired a tutor for Michael. Michael expressed his interest for football, but knew he would not be eligible to play to play because of his grade. With the help of Leigh Anne and his personal tutor, Michael was able to play football for this high school. Throughout his high school football season, Michael was scouted out by several Division 1 colleges to play football. Will the pressure of meeting everyone’s standards around him finally tear Michael apart or will he be determined to meet everyone’s expectation? Find out by watching the The Blind Side. The theme of this movie is the aspiration of a young man to become somebody in life with the guidance of a stranger who later becomes his family. Entertainment Weekly rates this movie with a “C.” I disagree with this rating and think this movie should be rated a “B.” Sure this movie is just like any other family oriented movie, but it is actually true and based on a real story unlike other movies that are made up by a writer. I would definitely recommend this movie to people because it has won 5 out of its 14 nominations. This movie is no longer in theater, but is able to be rented for $1 at the Redbox. So spending $1 and 2 hours of your day to watch The Blind Side is worth the time and money.

The movie Hackers takes place in New York in the present time. Dade Kate Joey Cereal Nikon Phreak are hackers in New York on a mission to stop their enemy The Plague from releasing a virus that will destroy all computers, and take only a few cents here and there from numerous bank accounts adding up to millions. Than The Plague, plans to create an even bigger virus that would blow up oil rigs, and kill all wildlife. All of the hackers have the motivation to stop him and save the worlds technology as we know it. A lesson in this movie would be if you work together you can accomplish anything. According to the review I saw the opinion was that it was an action packed thriller that kept you thinking, and I would say that explains this movie perfectly. I think this would be a movie worth paying to see, I know I will recommend it to people myself.

The movie Avatar takes place on a place called Pandora, where the avatars and many other mystical creatures live. The blue avatar people who live their fly on dragon like animals as transportation mainly and some ride on horse like animals. Sigourney Weaver the actress who plays a determined scientist that has fascination with avatars and Pandora. Sam Worthington, who plays as a soldier in the military also finds interest in this strange world. They find themselves together as avatars on Pandora and the adventure begins. Between love, death, and destruction this movie is going to give you a thrill. I would say the biggest theme in this movie is don’t take what you can’t have, and I can’t tell you why because that would be the movie for you. Just watch it. The review I read on screencrave.com mainly pointed out that the only good in the movie was the visual part and it lacked originality on the story. I think the story was pretty creative but overall the movies best trait would be the wowness of the effects and scenes. I would say the movie is worth seeing just because it is unique and very cool looking. The story does seem to drag on though. just check it out yourself.

The 2005 DreamWorks animation, Madagascar takes place at the Central Park Zoo in New York City where we meet the four main characters, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Alex the Lion and Gloria the Hippo. On Marty’s tenth birthday he wishes to go to the wild even though the zoo animals are pampered daily. That night Marty breaks out from the zoo and is released into another wild, New York City. Like good friends, Gloria, Alex and Melman go looking for him and eventually find him at Grand Central Station where the police end up detaining them. As a result, the four friends are put in wood crates and set on a ship headed for Africa, though along the way they fall of into the water and wash upon the shore of what they thought was Sand Francisco. After meeting the native animals and learning that the place they washed up on was Madagascar who knows if they will ever make it home. There are many big name actors and actress who are the voices of the zoo animals such as Chris Rock who is the voice of Marty. Also, Ben Stiller is the voice of Alex the Lion, David Schwimmer is the voice of Melman the Giraffe and Jada Pinkett Smith is the voice of Gloria the Hippo. All of the actors and actress who played the main four characters were superb when bringing the characters to life making them humorous and have true emotions. The most memorable characters in the film were also habitants of the Central Park Zoo who escaped from the zoo by digging a hole in the ground with a plastic spoon. There memorable characters are the psychotic penguins, while at the zoo they pretend to be cute and cuddly even though in future they ended up knocking out the ship captain and hijacking the ship. The main theme in this film is the importance of friendship and how with friends you can go farther and accomplish more than by yourself. Thus, audience can relate to their own friendship and memories that they have had with them. I do not agree with Roger Ebert when he says, “It'll be fun for the smaller kids, but there's not much crossover.” As a seventeen year old I still find humor in the character and how the animation has created characters you can relate to. Madagascar is worth anyone’s time even if they are not a child; even an adult find humor in stress situations with the four main characters when they got lost in the wild. I encourage anyone to purchase Madagascar because it’s a good film to watch multiple times.

In the 2003, Disney/Pixar movie, Finding Nemo, Nemo a young clown fish is at his first day of school. Later after getting angry at his father Marlin, Nemo swims off of the reef where predators lurk. Instantly Nemo is snatched by a diver. Frantically, Marlin swims after his son but never catches up to the boat, instead he meets Dory, who has short term memory loss but is determined to help Marlin find his son. Meanwhile, Nemo is taken to a dentist where he is meets other fresh water friends who hatch up a plan to get the scared Nemo back to his dad. Nemo is not the only one that goes on an adventure, Marlin and Dory meet some interesting characters such as Crush and Squirt who are sea turtles and sharks such as Bruce who are in a ‘Fish are friends not food’ club. Ellen DeGeneres was the voice of the scatterbrained and forgetful Dory who showed her incredible talent bringing an animation to life just by her voice. The voice of Nemo was Alexander Gould and surprisingly he is only a child even though he shined making this scared clown fish to life. Dory is one of the main characters who help Marlin on the adventure to find his son Nemo. Though she has short term memory loss she overcomes obstacles that eventually helps the find the young clown fish. Another memorable character is the hippie sea turtle, Crush. Crush is one of the friends Marlin and Dory bump into along the way of finding his son. Crush has many children sea turtles including Squirt a rambunctious whose favorite word is ‘dude.’ Many themes in this movie include the importance of family and friendship along with determination. Viewers walk away after seeing this movie and see how a father is determined to find his son even though he disobeyed and how helpful it is to have friends to help you find your son or way in life. I completely agree with the critics opinion about the movie because they applauded the talent that went into making this movie along with the amazing voices that made an animation come to life. Finding Nemo is worth anyone’s time even if they are not a child; even an adult can learn something and appreciate their own family along with the animation that created this family film. Finding Nemo is not just a movie that you should watch once; therefore I encourage anyone to purchase the movie because every time you watch it you will notice something new either about the characters or parts of the scenery due to the animation.

The Dark Knight is an action pact superhero movie. It is based on the DC Comics character Batman. The movie takes place in Gotham City were thugs and mobsters run the city and Batman tries to stop them along with the help of district attorney Harvey Dent. A new mobster, the Joker comes to town and plans to kill the batman. The movie shows the struggles Batman goes through, wondering if this is the end of Batman all together and his fight against the Joker.
The part of Batman is played by Christian Bale. He plays a very convincing and strong role. He’s everything you need in a batman, his ability to make you think Batman is real is great and his ability to make you like him is great also. The other main character is the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger. Heath put of a performance that no one could ever duplicate. He played the part of the Joker to a T. He was extremely convincing. The won the Academy Award for best supporting actor which was a huge honor despite passing away in 2008.
Batman’s motive was simple, stop the bad guys and get his girl back from Harvey. He never really changed his motive despite questioning whether or not Batman should continue to fight crime. The Joker’s motive was simple also, kill batman. The Joker didn’t care about much else not even money. There was a scene where he burns his half of the money and didn’t care what so ever, he knew that by killing the Batman he could run the town and make all the money he wanted after.
I think the theme of the movie is good verse evil. Dark cannot exist without light. The audience can take away that you always need someone to believe in, someone to look up to. Batman was Gotham City’s superhero, the guy they counted on and believed in. It showed that everyone needs that person and could be that person for someone else.
The film was rated high among many critics. Rotten Tomatoes had an overall approval rating from critics of 94% which is obviously high. Critics everywhere raved about The Dark Knight saying it was the number one movie of the decade.
In my opinion this movie is worth buying twice. I agree completely with the critics, it’s the best movie of this decade. There won’t be another superhero movie like this for a very long time.

Vampires and high school love, what could be better? For millions of people nothing could be better. The hit movie Twilight came out in 2008. The movie was based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel Twilight. The movie is about a seventeen year old girl named Bella who moved to live with her father. Not knowing anyone she ventures into her new high school expecting the worse. Despite knowing no one, one of her classmates catches her interest. His name was Edward Cullen. In the movie she is saved by his supernatural ways and demands and explanation. She later finds out that he and his family are vampires that only consumes animal blood and doesn’t harm humans. The two fall in love and that’s where the real story starts.
Actress Kristen Stewart plays the part of Bella who plays a terrible role. I thought she was one of the worse actresses ever. She didn’t remind me of the Bella in the book and it really through me off watching the movie. In the book she was a strong confident girl and in the movie she was a scared timid baby. Another main character was Edward played by Robert Pattinson. I thought he played a good vampire. He reminded me of the book so his part didn’t distract me from the movie. He was a confident strong actor.
Bella’s motive’s changed throughout the movie. At first she just wanted to fit in and blend. But after she met Edward her motive changed to discovering who he was. She was very nosey but she seemed shy and timid which wasn’t her in the book. After discovering who Edward was her motive was to be with him and stay alive. Edward’s motives also changed. The Cullen family never wanted to let anyone know that they were vampires so his motive was to not let Bella find out. After blowing his cover his motive was keeping Bella alive.
I think the theme of the movie was love conquers all. Nothing was going to come between Edward and Bella, he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her and she didn’t care that he was a blood thirst vampire.
The critics had mixed reviews of the movie. Most said that the movie was forgettable and as much as the producers tried to follow the book they failed. USA Today gave the film two out of four stars and Claudia Puig wrote, "Meyer is said to have been involved in the production of Twilight, but her novel was substantially more absorbing than the unintentionally funny and quickly forgettable film". Others said the only reason the movie had so much success was because of the book.
In my opinion this movie sucked. The bad acting and the changes between book and movie were too distracting. Instead of spending twenty dollars to watch the movie I suggest spending twenty dollars on the book and reading it.

My Sister’s Keeper, a movie based on the book by Jodie Picoult, was one of my favorite movies this year. My Sister’s Keeper is about parents going to great lengths to save their daughter who was diagnosed with leukemia when she was five years old. Great lengths may be an understatement as they actually have a child who is made genetically perfect in the lab to provide their ailing daughter with the bone marrow necessary for their daughter to stay alive. Anna Fitzgerald, played by Abigail Breslin, is the young sister that has been donating bone marrow to her sister Kate, played by Sofia Vassilieva. In the movie Anna seeks the professional help of a lawyer, played by Alex Baldwin, to emancipate herself from being the cure of her sister’s disease. The movie is about a family’s deep “undying” love for each other and to what extremes each family member will go to to save a loved one. The movie is also about the dysfunction suffered when a family member is dying and how each member of the family deals with this dysfunction. Many movies like this are easy to figure out. However, with this movie the true intent of the characters cannot be figured out until the end of the movie.
Abigail Brelin was the perfect actress to play Anna Fitzgerald. She appears more mature than her years and offers the wit necessary to address such a delicate topic. Cameron Diaz played the role of the mother. Before seeing the movie I couldn’t see her playing this part. However, after seeing the movie the part could not have been played by anybody as well. Cameron was perfect playing the frazzled mother who would stop at nothing to save her dying daughter. I felt that Cameron was the central character of the movie. Although dysfunctional, she was the glue that held the family together. Sofia Vassilieva had the heart and soul needed to play the part of the dying daughter. She was able to project acceptance and sadness at the same time. She was not sad for herself, she was sad for her family who she loved very much. The theme of the movie, love has no limits, was seen through the actions of each character. The critics were not very kind when reviewing this movie. Roger Ebert looked at the movie as being a debate about pro-choice vs. pro-life. Lisa Schwarzbaum, of Entertainment Weekly, poked fun at the beach scenes and music used to elicit a tear from the moviegoer. I disagree with any critic who gave this movie a bad review. Obviously they don’t know what an audience of teens is looking for in a movie. Teens today are so bombarded with electronics, cursing and violence. This was a movie about a good family who had to make some very difficult decisions that only a family in this situation could make. There were no electronics, no cursing, and no violence. Finally a movie worth seeing!

Precious, a movie based on the 1997 novel “Push” by Sappire, is the story of a 16 year-old girl struggling with life in the late 1980s. Precious lives with her abusive mother in Harlem, New York. Precious’ mother is an expert at taking advantage of the system, depending on welfare while she seldom gets up from her chair in front of the TV. Throughout the movie she continually orders Precious to give up on school and just go to the welfare office to get a check. Precious has a daughter who lives with her grandmother and only visits Precious when the social worker comes to verify how much government assistance is needed in the home. Precious is again pregnant. Again the pregnancy is the result of being raped by her father. To make matters even worse for Precious, she is illiterate and extremely obese. Precious’ mother constantly tells Precious that she is a nobody and that she is unloved. Precious somehow manages to struggle alone with her difficult life until a teacher, Ms. Rain, enters her life. Ms. Rain not only teaches Precious to read but also helps her to realize that her life, and her children’s lives, can be different. Ms. Rain helps Precious break the cycle of abuse.
Gabourey Sidibe plays Precious. Her performance is absolutely wonderful. Gabourey Sidibe was an unknown prior to this movie and hopefully she will be cast in many other movies. She fit the part so well you would think the part was made for her. Mo’Nique plays the role of the abusive mother. She does such a believable performance that you actually leave the theater hating her. Ms. Rain, played by Paula Patton, delivers the perfect performance as the intelligent, strong teacher who is able to touch the hearts of children like Precious. This is a story of survival and overcoming the worst of life’s obstacles. Most critics loved this movie. However one film critic, Sukhdev Sandhu, criticized the film very harshly. He felt the movie was unbelievable. I disagree totally with his opinions. This review sounds like it was written in the comfy office of a critic who has never suffered the cruelty of the world. The review was not only harsh, but also cold. Many critics had great things to say about the movie but the critic who said it best was Mary Pols of the New York Times who said that the movie was “too powerful for tears”. I agree. Precious is an extremely intense movie. It is the type of movie that stays with you for a long, long time. You leave the theater feeling that if Precious could survive her life you can survive anything life throws at you. I loved this movie and strongly recommend it.

The Pursuit of Happiness. Main actor is Will Smith he plays a character name Chris Gardner. The setting is in San Francisco, 1981. The movie starts off with Chris being a struggling salesman of these medical machines. He is on the line of poverty because he invested all his money in these machines, and there not selling. He is struggling to provide for his family. His son which name is also Chris Gardner, that part is played by Will Smith’s real son Jaden Smith. His wife Linda Gardner, which is played by Thandie Newton. His wife is a struggling waitress, that is getting fed up with her family’s current lifestyle and that gets her and her husband into many arguments. This movie is based on poverty and bad economic positions but it shows you that you’re not the only one that has it bad and some people have it worse then you and they stay preserver so you should do the same. It really motivates you is my opinion. The acting by Will smith was past amazing. He puts heart, soul, and drive into every line, every scene like he is really living that lifestyle. I think Will Smith did the best out of all of them. I think little Jaden Smith did the second best between the three cause as a child I say it is harder to act and stay serious just because you have the mindset of a child, but his acting is similar to his fathers. He could have done better with the fake laughter, I think. Thandie Newton did great but I honestly liked her better in crash but she kind of plays the same kind of part as that movie I just think this performance didn’t need so much drama and some points in the movie I think she should have approached certain scenes differently. Chris Gardner’s motivation is the same as his Wife’s . . . just to make it out of the lifestyle there in. This theme in this movie I think is that don’t give up and keep at it no matter the situation, and that’s what I think everybody should take away from this film. I do agree with the critics because most of them or positive. My overall opinion is that it is a “have to see” movie. Because I think you can really learn something from this movie.

Waist Deep, a movie filled with action, drama, and violence. It’s a star studded film, with different actors like rapper The Game, actor Megan Good, Tyrease Gibson, Paul Terrell Clayton, and Larenze Tate. Tyrease Gibson plays the main character 02. Megan Good plays Co-Co. Rapper; The Game plays the big gang activist Meat, and Larenze Tate plays 02’s crack head cousin. This movie takes place in the Ghetto of South Central L.A. The main character 02 (Tyrease Gibson) is fresh out of prison. He is happy to see his son again but being in L.A no one cares. At a stop light Co-Co (Megan Good) distracts to get his car jacked. The carjackers didn’t know that his son was still in the back so that turns the carjacking into a South Central Pursuit. 02 takes off running for the car with the drive to get his son back, he doesn’t. He later finds Co-Co who is mainly responsible and they team up to getting his son back. That’s when the gang leader Meat (The Game) comes in. He tells 02 that he has 48 hours to get him 100,000 dollars. Co-Co and 02 “do them” to get money. The acting in this film was pretty good but Tyrease’s son (Henry Hunter Hall) in this film can NOT act. If I had to grade him it would be an F. He does not seem real in this film at all it’s like you can tell he is acting. Tyrease played a really serious part and he played it good. He set the tone in this movie. Megan good did ok I would say, I just don’t see her as the character she perceived. Rapper; the Game cannot act. He for sure get’s a F. The whole entire movie he shows the world why he is a rapper not an actor. Larenze Tate did a great job you can tell he has experience when he acts, cause he does a lot of things correct. I think the theme is just to fight for your siblings no matter the cause. My overall opinion is that it’s an all right movie. . Nothing to go spend your money on.

So Roll bounce was a move I watched in 2005. The movie is about a Xavier and his father, they live in the ghetto and the mother passed away. So the main character which is Xavier has a hard time finding who he is. Living in the south side of Chicago Xavier and his friends use rollerblading as an escape and hobby.
The characters include, Xavier the main character, his father Curtis, and his four friends named Sweetness, Tori, Naomi, Byron, Bernard, Troy, Naps, Mixed, Mike, and Vivian.
Xavier was played by bow wow; I think he preformed the best he could. I honestly think he should stick to music because he did not do too well, out of all the characters in the move he was the worst. He wanted the love from his dad and was grieving the death of his mother.
Sweetness was played by Wesley Jonathan; was a famous roller-skate dancer in Chicago, he was cocky and arrogant it seemed like a made up person. His actions and the way he carried himself was really dramatic. Wesley Jonathan played that part very well
Curtis was played by Chi McBride; he was a depressed and obsessed working on the car of his dead wife. The death of his wife really hit him, making him become distant to his son and sad, with loosing his job all the factors of what was going on in his life affected his attitude and everything he did
I agree with the critics because they feel the same way as I don on the movie, basically calling it a repeat of something we already watched.
All together I think that the movie roll bounce was a waste of time and money, I am disappointed that I watched it. It's defiantly not worth money it was so bad, the acting plot was all wrong.

Xander Cage, better known as Vin Diesel, stars in the 2002 action movie “XXX.” In the movie he is a bad boy undercover agent that does whatever he desires and he is as we normal people would call it, crazy. ''I like anything fast enough to do something stupid in,'' says Diesel in one the lines of the movie when he is trying to suck up to a British billionaire named Yorgi. Yorgi is a former soldier in the army of the Soviet Union and is now an owner of a strip of nightclubs and castles around Eastern Europe. Yorgi is not your average gangster, he is much more serious about the type of work he does and you will know what I’m talking about when you watch the movie. Bad boy Diesel gets sent in by the U.S police to find out more about Yorgi and his clan. Soon after, he finds out that Yorgi’s gang, also known as “Anarchy 99,” is developing a weapon of mass destruction that could potentially kill everyone in the world. The theme of this movie would be archaism. Other critics say that this is one of Vin Diesels best movies. I agree with this because this movie is action-packed and full of surprises. It was such a good movie that they even decided to make a sequel to it three years later that was called “XXX-State of Union.” Vin Diesel also stars in this movie and it was also a popular movie in 2005. If you like a movie filled with action, surprises, and romance then this is the movie for you. It’s definitely worth your time and money. So if you have an extra twenty dollar bill lying around, I suggest you get up and drive to best buy or a movie store and buy this movie!
