Yes Man is a film about living live to the fullest as well as doing what you want. In this movie, the man character, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is a long-time bank employee. After getting a divorce with his wife three years earlier, Carl becomes a plain, predictable, boring homebody who spends all of his time at home and watching movies. After a run in with an old work buddy, Carl decides to go to a Yes seminar. At this seminar, Carl learns to say yes to everything in life. Even to the simplest decision. The answer is yes. Throughout his crazy road of yes, Carl learns to fly planes, play guitars, ride a scooter as well as different languages. He learns many valuable life lessons and meets some great and amazing friends along the way. One of them includes his new girlfriend, Allison (Zooey Deschanel), who is a free spirit, scooter riding, photographer who also love to be spontaneous. Carrey and Deschanel definitely bring this movie to life with laughs and spunkiness. Some other unforgettable characters in this film include Molly Sims, Bradley Cooper and Luis Guzman. The main theme in this movie is to live life the way you want to live it. This can be done by doing everything you can possibly do. Meet new people, try new things and just be happy with who you are. The critics gave it an average grade of a C I would have to agree with them. While the movie did give us all a good life lesson, Carrey has had a lot humorous movies in the past. Bottom line: Yes man is a good movie to rent to make you laugh, but if you’re looking to buy a Jim Carrey movie, look back to his older films.
