This is a response to Dylan’s blog about Eminem. As he stated in his blog about Eminem being an all-time great rapper, I would have to completely agree. He has sold millions of albums, and for a good reason too. His music is real, he raps about his life, even the darkest of times. He doesn’t leave anything behind, he will tell listeners things that other rappers would never confess. I think this gives listeners a special connection with him that they don’t feel with any other rappers, or even artists of any music for that matter. Eminem uses his music as a way to vent and let everyone know how he feels, not just to make music to kill some time. If I had to pick a rapper to compare him to I think I would probably choose Tupac. Tupac, just like Eminem, used music as a way to get stories and dark secrets out to the public, as a way to get things off their chest. Songs made by both of them can also be used to help someone going through a hard time. It always makes struggles easier to conquer when there is someone else that has gone through something similar, and both of these artists can provide that sense of comfort.
