Wiz Khalifa is a young rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The type of music he raps about is mostly rap but he tends to throw in some hip hop songs such as “Black and yellow”, which is about his hometown sports colors. Some of his other good songs are “Say yeah”, which is about Wiz meeting up with his buddies and going to the clubs and having girls all around him and throwing money in the air and saying “yeah” like the title of the song. Another one of his good songs is “youngin on his grind”, which is about Wiz going from a young kid on the streets of Pittsburgh to a big time rapper. It talks about the struggles he went through, drugs, and girls. One of my favorite songs from him is called “This plane”. In this song he talks about how he’s in the air flying above all the problems that he’s left behind and all the people that used to talk smack about him. He’s basically telling them to keep on hating him for becoming richer than them. In one of his albums called How Fly, he and another rapper named “Curren$y” rap mostly about drugs, money, and girls. It makes you feel kind of like calm and gets you thinking about a lot of stuff. That if you set your mind to something that with a lot of hard work you can achieve what you’ve been hoping for. Wiz Khalifa reminds me of Kid Cudi because Cudi raps about some of the same stuff that Wiz does but it’s to a different beat and Cudi uses more metaphors. Wiz uses the line “got the city on my back like a last name”. Which means he carries the city on his back. I agree with some of the other critics because in some of Wiz Khalifas songs he tends to only rap on drugs, money, and girls. But he just expresses them in different ways and and different words in some of his songs. I think it’s worth our time because some of his songs touch people in different ways and tells us that we can all start from the bottom and end up at the top.
