Guess who? She’s from Queens, N.Y. She is the most polarizing figure in rap, hip-hop, and R&B music. She is a new artist signed on with Young Money. Some listeners see her as a guiding light for the current crop of female ring master; when her first album released in stores, it sold out rarely quickly. She comes in three persons, Barbie, Roman, and Nicki Minaj. Yup! That’s right Nicki Minaj is the newest rapper in the game. Her album that sold out incredibly fast was Pink Friday. This album includes features with Kanya West, Ludacris, Mariah Carey, Eminem and several others. My favorite track in this album would have to be “Monster”. In this track I can clearly see Nicki Minaj’s male counterparts. Where she is aggressively addressed her magnetic flair and unquestionable grind. The lyric, (“So let me get this straight, Wait, I’m the rookie? But my features and my shows 10 times ya pay? 50K for a verse, no album out”), has this passion to let everyone know that she is not a fake person and she’s coming out real and aggressive. So I don’t agree with spin’s critics, Marc Hogan, saying that the song “Monster” will be very disappointed doing it with West. But I do agree with Marc Hogan that albums are not hot when you have all rap music. This is why Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Friday will alarm you with different emotions because it includes different genre. Nicki Minaj clearly reminds me of another artist who also has 3 characters in one. He also had the fastest album sold in history back in 2000. He is known has Rabbit, Slim Shady or his stage name Eminem. Eminem duet with Nicki made millions blow up in cheer. Her style and his style both killed it with the track “Roman’s Revenge”. It couldn’t get any better than that. If you like to be promised that you’ll have a good time, I strongly advise you to go out and get Pink Friday.
