Kid Cudi is a well know R&B, hip-hop singer and rapper. Many people say that he has “feel- good “music. He evokes calmness within you when you hear is music. He raps about real life situation that everyone can relate to. Also he raps about the obvious things like partying and getting high. His most sold album Kid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of Day is the album where he pours out him heart and his songs are very personal. I could say that Cudi has some similar sounds to Wiz Khalifa. They both have songs about their troubles in life but at the same time, Khalifa’s songs are very much about smoking weed 24/7 and non- emotional topics like that. They have different approaches on life yet have to same sound with different lyrics. My two favorite Kid Cudi songs would have to be “Pursuit of happiness” and “soundtrack to my life “off the Kid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of Day album. My favorite lyrics from “Pursuit of happiness” would be the chorus. “I’m on a pursuit of happiness and I know, everything that shines won’t always be gold, I’ll be fine once I get it, I’ll be good.” I find them memorable because it shows that everyone at one point in their life wants to find inner happiness and you will go through many bumps and that just because one thing might look good but it’s not always the best. My next song is “Soundtrack to My Life” and my favorite lyrics would have to be “I’ve got some issues that nobody can see, and all theses emotions are pouring outta me, I bring them to the light for you, it’s only right, this is the soundtrack to my, soundtrack to my life.” There deep and very real lyrics. It shows his emotional side. That whole song is very personal and is a glimpse into his life and his true feelings. Critics of the Los Angeles Times stated that "he's made poetry out of being invisible" meaning he makes his job look flawless, which I agree with. He pours his heart and re lives painful memories and it seems like it doesn’t even phase him. Overall, if you’re looking for some good, deep music you can relate to Kid Cudi is the man you want to listen to. He's defiantly worth your time and money. You won't be disappointed.
