Nicki Minaj is the Newest Female rapper that’s hit the game and is a part of Young Money. When her album Pink Friday hit store it sold out quickly. I would classify Nicki Minaj’s music as hard core rap, hip-hop and some R &B. She has a variety of different sounds within these two genres. Some songs have a stronger meaning than others. Pink Friday can bring out many feelings for a person. In some of her songs she it brings sadness when she explain a break up with her ex. Other songs bring out “hype” meaning getting pumped up to go out and party. In others it’s just “chill, good mood music that just makes you want to smile. Nicki has a very similar sound to Lil Kim, her rival in the rap game. There has been beef between them ever since Nicki minaj joined young money and topped Lil Kim’s album ratings. Most people say they have to same sound or that Nicki is copying Lil Kim since she has been out longer. On the other hand Nicki sounds nothing like Trina, also a female rapper. Trina is more sexually expect with her lyrics and all her songs have the same feel as for Minaj has a variety. One of her most memorable lyric for me would be from her song “save me”. It’s a very deep emotional song about her pain after a relationship. “It’s not your fault, I’m a b****, I’ma monster. Yes I am beast, and I feast, when I conquer. But I’m alone, on my throne all theses wishes, I came all this way, all this way just to say, this time wont you save me, this time wont you save me. Baby I can feel myself given up. “I love these lyrics because it shows her vulnerable side. Everyone thinks she’s such a tough and hard rapper and then she sings about this. It shows that no matter what, everyone has feelings and can be hurt at times. I agree with critics 100%. They all say that she has many colors to her album and that she is on a rise to being the best. Overall I think she is a very talented artist in what she does and that her album is very m much worth your time and money. I bought it the day it came out!
