I agree with Zach’s blog post about Kid Cudi. The reason I chose this article to respond to is I also love listening to Kid Cudi; he is one of my favorite artists. I really like the genres of music Zach placed him in because in my opinion he placed him perfectly, part hip hop, part psychedelic singer type music. His songs are most definitely all across the board emotionally, just like Zach said. I also like how he compared him to Kanye West but I would like to add on to the comparison. Kid Cudi is definitely related to Kanye in the fact that they sing kind of the same type of songs, but there is something else as well. Cudi got his big break as far as being a popular artist from Kanye. Kanye heard of Kid Cudi and decided to put Cudi onto his record label, G.O.O.D. Music. Other than that, “The Prayer” is also one of my favorite songs by him. I would like to say I definitely liked Cudi’s older songs better than his last two albums because he started to stray a little from his hip hop roots. As far as Kid Cudi today, he is no longer a single artist; he started a band called “Wizard” and is creating new music with them. To wrap things up, Kid Cudi changed the way people looked and listened to hip hop, and hopefully will do great things with his new band.
