Lupe Fiasco first began to rise in the hip-hop in 2006. The style in which Lupe brings to the table is different in the sense that it has a hip-hop beat to it but the flow of the song is like a rap. Another artist that is kind of like Lupe is Chris Brown. It isn’t an exact comparison but it is the closest one I could think of. Chris Brown is beginning to be like Lupe with his hip-hop/rap songs but none are like how Lupe does it. There is really no one who compares to Lupe’s style. Most of Lupe’s songs have to deal with his thoughts and feelings about things. For example, his song “Words I never said” deals with his thoughts on the world today and how he feels about the crisis that are happening in the world. One of my favorite songs by Lupe is “The Show Goes On” it deals with just moving on from bad things and realizing that even though there are bad times the good times are coming right after the bad times. It is a good motivational song and it is also a good picker upper for when my day doesn’t go as well as I wanted it to. The critics claim that Lupe’s new album Laser was one of his best albums ever made and I strongly agree with that. His new album has some really good hits on it more than his others which had one or two good songs on them. In my opinion I believe that Lupe Fiasco is the best artist in his field. The way that he mixes hip-hop beats with the flow of rap is genius. Not only that but also the words that he speaks and the way he speaks his mind about his views on the world is awesome because he doesn’t care what other people think he speaks the truth.
