One music artist I really enjoy listening to is Kid Cudi. His real name is Scott Mescudi. He is a hip-hop, and a neopsychedelic artist. I enjoy his music because almost every single one of his songs is inspiring and catchy. Every song has mixed emotions behind them, one song will be sad and depressing and the next will be happy and exciting. Kid Cudi compares to one other famous rapper called Kanye West. They’re related because Kanye West sings most of his music about stories and can be very inspiring to people. Other than Kanye west, Kid Cudi doesn’t really match up to any other singer. He is like his own style of music. My first favorite song by Kid Cudi would be The Prayer. This song is memorable to me because the song is inspirable with lyrics like “I think god made me special; If I die before I wake; and My mind runs I can never catch it” In these cases he is talking about life and the girls he dated and saying he wrote the song for them. He’s talking about not being able to find his mind, meaning that he is confused. Critics say his new album The Legend of Mr. Rager “This is a grungy, filthy record full of angels and demons, violently at odds with mainstream US R&B chart pap. And it might just be the next-generation rap record of the year.” I agree with this opinion because his new album was a big hit with 169,798 copies sold in the first week. Songs on that album include: “Mr. Rager, Erase Me, and Trapped In My Mind” which in my opinion are probably the 3 best songs on that album and I like them along with a lot of people I know. To sum things up I would say listening to Kid Cudi is definitely worth both your time and your money because if you’re in a down mood listening to his music will make you cheer up, or also when you’re in a good mood listening to his music will enlighten the mood.
