I agree with Bryan’s post about Linkin Park. Like Bryan, I also listen to Linkin Park songs before a workout or game because their songs are so motivational. I also think that Minutes to Midnight was their best album because it had a good mix of songs. For example, the fourth track on the album, called “Bleed It Out,” is a fast mix of rapping (done by Mike Shinoda) with electric guitar in the background. Then towards the end of the song, Chester Bennington screams the last few verses. This track is very different from the next song on the album, “Shadow of the Day,” which has no rap and Chester Bennington singing softly. I think that this diversity that the band has caused it to have a very big and diverse fan base which I think is a really good thing for bands to have. And not only does Linkin Park write amazing music, but they also help out around the world. Linkin Park founded the Music For Relief charity, which provides relief to victims of natural disasters. Music For Relief is now helping out with victims of the Japan earthquake and Tsunami. I think that it’s really selfless of Linkin Park to do all of this volunteering and for that reason (and the fact that they write amazing songs), Linkin Park will always be my favorite band.
