The Hangover is a classic. It’s about a bachelor party gone wrong. The “wolf pack” gets ready for their trip to Las Vegas. They plan on a night at the casino but things go terribly wrong when they wake up to an messed up hotel room and the groom missing. And worst of all, they don’t remember a single thing. They spend the next day looking for clues of what happened the night before and trying to find Carlos’s mother and the groom. In The Hangover the groom is played by Justin Bartha (Doug). He plays the missing person who had the bachelor party with his friends Stu, Phil and Allen. His character is happy to be with his friends and he is ready to be wed to his lovely wife, Sasha Barrese (Tracy). He is also seen in National Treasure where he plays an intelligent but still funny character. He can play the relaxed character better than I think he could play Allen or Phil’s role. Bradley Cooper (Phil) is the leader of the “wolf pack” and he leads Allen and Stu through finding the clues as to what happened when they lost Doug. Cooper’s character is a strong leader, funny, and like a detective putting all of the hints together. Cooper is also seen in Wedding Crashers which is also a funny movie and I think he can do the comedy part very well. Zach Galifianakis (Allen) is Doug’s fiancés brother so he feels obligated to include him on the trip to Vegas. He turns out to be a crazy funny character. He plays the role well because he is so funny and can say funny things with a serious face. All three of Doug’s friends a very funny. They all want to find Doug so they can make it to the wedding on time. A theme in the movie is be careful what you wish for. When the pack first shows up in Vegas they go take some shots and raise a glass to “a night they won’t forget”. And that is what they got in a round-a-bout kind of way. They didn’t remember what happened, but when they figure it out, it’s going to be something they don’t forget. I agree with Roger Ebert in that this movie deserves every part of the “R” rating. It is very crude humor but still very funny. All in all, The Hangover is definitely worth your time because it is so funny and it will always be a classic .
