Margaret is an editor for a New York Publisher and is from Canada. Her assistant’s name is Andrew and he’s from Alaska. Margaret had an expired visa and was going to be deported back to Canada. She tells Andrew she’ll promote him if he’ll “marry” her. He only promises to play along if she lets him fly home to Alaska for his grandma’s 90th birthday that weekend. She agrees and also tags along with him to meet his parents and grandma. The two of them fly out to Alaska and have their fair share of adventures trying to make it look convincing that they’re a real couple. Margaret is played by the actress Sandra Bullock and Andrew’s character is played by the actor Ryan Reynolds. They both do a fantastic job and are compatible co-workers. I love both of them, and when I heard this movie was coming out with both of them I was stoked. It was as good as I was hoping. Margaret’s parents died when she was sixteen so she has been through a lot in her life time. Back in New York she is a tough woman, hard-driven, successful, and is nasty to her co-workers. Andrew is the complete opposite; family oriented, nice to everyone, and has to do everything Margaret says. By the end of the movie though, Andrew changed Margaret completely. Margaret became a kind sensitive person and didn’t just think about her own feelings but those around her as well. One of the themes in The Proposal to give people a chance in your life, you never know what the outcome could be. The critics gave it a C, but I beg to differ with that. The movie was fantastic, better than I expected. The previews were good and the movie was even better. I do agree with some of the critics comments about how fantastic it was and how good Ryan Reynolds did in the movie. Also, I agree with one of the comments saying it was just absolutely hilarious. The Proposal is a funny entertaining movie with romance thrown in it. If you’re looking for a good laugh, this movie is definitely your style. It’s worth every cent you are willing to pay to see it.
