I love Miley Cyrus. I think it took her so long to branch out from her Hannah/Miley persona because that’s what so many people wanted to see her as for so long. She started Hannah Montana when she was 13, so she’s been doing that for just about 5 years now. She’ll be 18 at the end of this month, so naturally being an adult, she wants to kind of “escape” the blonde-wig sparkly, lip-gloss, and glitzy-pop sound, which is where her newer album “Can’t Be Tamed” comes in (which I love btw). As far as the Vanity Fair incident, yeah it was a little risqué but the most you see of her is what – her back? Like we haven’t seen more than we wanted to see of Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, etc. WITHOUT it being in a magazine. The fact that she was only 16 was a little un-nerving but I think it ultimately lies on her dad Billy Ray Cyrus’s back, since he was the one “supervising” the shoot. She’s done a few other less-than-desirable things in her teen years, but I would too if I was trying to ditch my “tween” image for a more fitting grown-up one, plus she always has daddy on her back. I feel like she’s getting way too old to do the Hannah Montana show anyway, and I’m glad this season is going to be her last, because in my opinion the show’s premise was getting a little too unrealistic for her age. She’s been being pushed by fans (or fan’s mothers) to maintain this sweet and innocent Tennessee girl character to keep the kids happy; my sister loved Hannah Montana when it first came out, but she’s since gotten over it because it’s just the same stuff over and over again. She’s trying to move on but gets torn apart in the media and by fans because it’s something they aren’t used to, which stinks for her because she’s just trying to grow up – which seems to be a common theme for young stars.
