I absolutely agree with you on Minaj’s image that she projects to her audience. She is unquestionably a “strong and independent lady.” She rose and became a great female rapper, who isn’t put down by the negative things people say about her. She fellows her own lead and doesn’t let what people think interfere with what she is doing. I have also heard what Lil’ Kim is saying about how Minaj has copied her “rapper image”, and I agree with you on that Minaj didn’t copy Lil’ Kim but has instead been inspired by Lil’ Kim. Minaj looks up to Lil’ Kim and used her as an example of how she want to be perceived. I think that the only thing that Lil’ Kim is doing by saying all of this stuff about Minaj, is trying to get the attention on her instead of on Minaj. I think that she is jealous of what Niciki Minaj has become. I also agree that many women do look up to Niciki Minaj. I believe that she is a strong and independent woman and that is why many women idealize her and want to be her. Its why Lil’ Kim is jealous, Niciki became quite popular fast and many want to be her, not Lil’ Kim anymore. I also agree with what Alicia said about how we strive to be just like Barbie, perfect. I think that in her own way, Minaj is Barbie. She represents a strong woman who has fought to get where she has and is in her own way perfect. She is what men want and what women what to be. In most of her fans eyes she is perfect and that’s where I think the resemblance to Barbie is. Niciki Minaj is perfect . . . to her fans.
