I would have to agree with Iman in his review on the majority of things he says about the rapper Dwayne Michael Carter. I believe that Dwayne, also known as Lil’ Wayne, is one of the greatest rappers out there today. Like Iman has said, Lil’ Wayne has a unique style of rap. Unlike most he raps freestyle, meaning he doesn’t write anything down on paper before he records it in a booth. Another reason he is unique is that he uses beats that sound different from the typical overused beats we normally hear being rapped over. I think it is cool that Lil’ Wayne has shown us that he can rap over a rock beat, which is nowhere near the normal beats you hear other rappers using. Overall he has his own unique rap style. Iman mention lollipop being one of his more famous songs and I would have to agree that, I know a lot of people still today that love listening to that song, and feel it is one of his better songs. I also believe that Lil’ Wayne is comparable to rappers like Tupac, Jay Z, Biggy Smalls, and many others, but we are yet to see if he is able to stay in the spotlight after he’s died out of the rap game. I disagree with what Iman said about Lil’ Wayne losing his touch and using auto tone more. I feel Lil’ Wayne is trying to find other ways to express his voice through rapping, instead of the same old style he’s always had, because it might just be getting old to him. Overall I think that it is definitely worth it to go to the store and buy any of Lil’ Wayne’s albums, because he is one of the greatest rappers to be seen in the rap game yet, and will be mentioned long after he is out of the rap game.
