The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic duo Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons. They started their music career out by being dj’s at a club called “naked under leather”. Tom Rowlands was born on January 11, 1971in Kingston upon Thames, London. In his early teen years his interest for music really started to expand. He says that’s the first Public Enemy (a rap group) record probably changed his life. When Rowlands was very young, his family relocated to Henley-on-Thames. He later attended Reading Blue Coat School in Berkshire. Ed Simons was born on Herne Hill, England on June 9th, 1970. His parents were not around much when he was growing up. His two main interests are aero planes and musicals. During his school years he developed a growing interest for hip hop. Simons attended two South London public schools, Alleyn's School and Dulwich College. After high school he went on the the University of Manchester. The type of music The Chemical Brothers make is techno/house. Their style consists of psychedelic beats and four-on-the-floor beats. They have more of a hippy kind of feel to their music. Most of their songs are just beats with little no words. If there song does have words it is usually computer generated. Their music doesn’t sound like anyone else's in the music industry today. One hit song by them is their song "Swoon" which is an upbeat techno song that gets people in a good mood. It is off their newest album "Further" that contains eight songs that tell a story. This album has been described as the most psychedelic melodic to date. The critics all agree that they are very talented in the work that they do. I suggest that people check out their song "Swoon" and if they like it buy the Album "Further".
