Mulan is about an asian girl whose father is called to serve in the military again. Mulan has always been sort of an upset to her family. For instance, she isn’t that ladylike which upset her mother and then she is kind of clumsy which is bad news all around. Mulan worries about her father, who is hurt, going back to the military. After upsetting her family and putting their name to disgrace she takes her father’s armor and heads for the military. In the military Mulan has to hide her secret of really being a woman and prove she can be a good soldier. While in the military she has a hard time doing to physical stuff but after a confidence boost she proves that she can be “one of the men” and pulls her share of work, which no one thought she could do…. But remember Mulan is disguised as a guy named Ping. There are three guys that Mulan becomes friends with and they stick by her side because she is courageous. After Mulan realizes she can do what the men can she quickly picks up her share and proves herself worthy to be there. In the movie one of the themes is to do your best and never give up, which is in fact what Mulan does. After being put down by her higher officer she does something no one else can, climb the pole with the weights, and puts everyone in shock. Because she never gave up they began to respect her, including her officer who was the most doubtful of all the men. I agree with the critics when they say this movie is inspiring, I would recommend it to people, to show to never give up and keep trying. This movie is an overall good movie that lifts the spirits and shows that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
