One awesome movie that probably everyone has seen that never gets old is Forrest Gump. Forrest, played by Tom Hanks is a boy who really has little brain activity. He has one friend, Jenny, played by Robin Wright. Forrest’s mom who he calls ‘mama’ teaches him a little bit about life and leaves him to follow his own dreams. He decides to join the army and fight the war in Vietnam. While he was over in Vietnam he meets a couple guys who become his best friends where Forrest achieves a countless number of things like getting everyone involved with ping-pong, donating to many people, writing bumper stickers, etc. he even got to meet the president a few times. However, while he is doing all of this he can’t get his mind off of his childhood lover, Jenny. One thing that he was extremely good at was running. He even got all of his friends to jog with him and he used his legs to his advantage. Tom Hanks does a phenomenal job playing his character because the way that he can show the disability of Forrest by changing his voice and the way that he only focuses on one thing shows his dedication to this character. The theme of this movie is to really follow your heart and not give up. Forrest did this exact thing with Jenny. Although she didn’t take the right path and make very good decisions, he knew that anything could happen and believed that anyone can love anyone. I agree with critics that Forrest Gump is “a comedy, I guess. Or maybe a drama. Or a dream.” Says Roger Ebert from Sun Times. I think that anyone of any age would love this movie. And I think it’s worth every minute of time.
