Tommy Boy is a comedy film and yet you can relate to this entire film, which it was directed by Peter Segal. The film stars Chris Farley, David Spade, and Brian Dennehy. They all had great performences in this film, it was one of Chris Farley’s best films. The movie is mainly about this guy Tom Calahan’s son, Tommy, (Chris Farley). In the beginning of the film it shows Tommy and he is late for the bus, which as for the other character’s they express him always being late, and Tommy says, “Aw man! Not again!” So he runs tword the bus through lawns and as he is doing so, things don’t seem to be working in his favor. The sprinklers turn on and he hits fence posts as he runs through the lawns. It skips a few years and he is now in his late 20’s or early 30’s (it doesn’t really specifiy) and he is working for his dad, at his auto parts factory, Calahan Auto Parts. He is a clumsy kind of guy, and he goes home to see his dad (Brian Dennehy) his dad is to get married to this new woman, and she has a son. Tommy is excited to see he has a brother. The dance after Big Tom (Brian Dennehy) gets married he has a fatal heart attack and dies, Tommy is devistated, and yet he has to run his fathers buisness which all his customers are being taken from him by Ray Zalinksy (Dan Akyrod) he needs to sell about 500,000 break pads so that the bank won’t forclose the company and sell it. So, will Tommy be able to sell 500,000 break pads? Or will the company fail and be sold out? To find out what happens you will have to watch the movie. Tommy played by Chris Farley is a rich kid who never really had to work, he had everything handed to him, he is a goofy, and silly guy yet a loving and caring guy as well. What motivates him is his dad and the company. Richard which is played by David Spade is a hard working old friend of Tommy’s which through hard work and detication he has become Big Tom’s assistant, he is funny in a rude humour kind of way. The themes in this movie are love, and detication, Tommy falls in love with a childhood friend, Tommy takes care of buisness through dedication. The rating got 6.8 out of 10, which I don’t agree with because it should have gotten a better review, I really liked that movie. My opinion is that this movie is one of the best if not the best movie Chris Farley has been in, Is it worth your time and money? Yes, yes it is I would buy this movie in a heart beat, even though I already have it.
