In the movie, The Book of Eli, the world is very different to what we see today. There is an event that happens that wipes out a lot of the people, buildings, and natural resources in the world. The movie focuses on one man’s journey named Eli. He is traveling alone, blind, and is carrying the last known bible on the face of the Earth. The only thing is that he fights people that try to take his stuff like he has 20/20 vision. He is traveling west to find a printing press to give the book to and along the way he comes to a town of people who are rebuilding. They find out that he has the book and when they try to take it he escaped with the book in hand. The try to find him and eventually do, taking the book, shooting him and leaving him to die. His friend then steals one of the cars that they have and drive back to bring him west. It is a very exiting movie and a little confusing and the ending will blow you away! Denzel Washington plays Eli and does a great job in doing that. I feel like he really immersed himself in the role and really hit it spot on with all the acting. He is a very loving and caring man and cares for all the people that he meets. His motivation is getting to the printing press so that the Book of God can stay alive because of him. I think that the theme of the movie is to keep going strong no matter what happens in life and that if you really want something you can get it with enough determination. I agree with the critics and I think that this is one of the best film Denzel Washington has done and that is really saying something. Overall, I really love this movie. It is well worth my time and money to see.
