Marley and Me is one of my favorite movies. I may not own a dog, but I am a HUGE dog fan! This movie is about a naughty golden retriever dog named Marley who got adapted by two newspaper writers from Florida named John and Jenny Grogan. Marley is friendly and loveable but he eats jumps and chews everything in his sight. Jenny, the mom wants to get rid of Marley because of all his bad behavioral problems but John convinces her to keep the dog because it is like a “kid” to them! For Jenny and John they thought this would be paradise getting a dog, but then three kids come along the way one by one, and then they start moving into bigger and better houses for John, Jenny, Marley, and the three kids. But all this stress of having three kids and Marley doesn’t make anything better, there is always little arguments around the house and then Jenny starts to feel as if she is doing absolutely everyone’s duties around the house. Throughout the whole movie you just see a theme of how these two once very happy adults struggle to fit love, work, children and one very bad dog into one space. But to this family Marley means everything to them, it is like Marley is one of their kids. Critics say that this movie was outstanding and they gave it an A-! I perfectly agree with the critics because I absolutely loved this movie and it made me even like dogs more better then what I used to! So my overall opinion of this movie is good, I would want you to watch it even if you absolutely hate dogs. It is not necessarily for dog lovers, it is for everyone. It is a tear jerker you might find yourself crying at the end, but that’s okay because then you know it touched your heart just like it did to mine!
