Terminator 2: Judgment Day in my opinion, is a great story that has many characters being driven as the main focus. I will get to this later however, a little more on the story. John Conner is the leader of a Human Resistance against the machines, powered by Skynet and an advanced AI system. (Artificial Intelligence) John is sworn to rise up and fight against the machines, and save man-kind, but the machines send terminators to kill and stop John from becoming this leader. The machines send back a terminator only called the “T-1000;” a machine that is made out of a new metal that is both a solid and a liquid; played by Robert Patrick. In retaliation, the resistance, including John, sends a model of a terminator back to the past as well. This model is the “T-800;” played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is an older model that the resistance captured, and re-programs to protect Conner instead of destroying him. In the movie, you watch as Conner, only a young teen in the film, grow to be a strong independent young man, and you watch the T-800 become not just a machine, yet, more of a father figure in the young man’s life. Linda Hamilton plays the role of John’s mother Sarah Conner, who is stuck in a mental hospital because she talks about the nuclear holocaust that the machines will cause; and the stories of terminators coming from the future to kill her and her son. Sarah is seen to become a better character as well. She goes on a hunt for Skynet’s creator, to kill him and possibly stop the inevitable, however; in the last moments of the chance to kill this man, she breaks out in tears because she notices John there to comfort and stop her. All-in-all, this is a great movie that anyone would enjoy. Robert Ebert, gave it a 3 ½ stars out of 4 stars in his own review of the movie. I would highly recommend a rent or buy of this movie.
