Angels & Airwaves is an alternative rock band from San Diego, California. The
band was formed in 2005 by Tom DeLonge after the break up of Blink-182. DeLonge’s new band is a lot more mature; singing about life and love. The band has released four
albums; We Don’t Need to Whisper, I-Empire, LOVE and LOVE Part II. All of them
have very similar sound with a lot of palm muted guitar riffs and a unique sound that is
atmospheric and ambient. The band’s first single, “The Adventure”, is known as their biggest hit and has an uplifting and influential vibe. Angels & Airwaves sounds like a more modern version of the rock group U2. AbsolutePunk.net wrote that the newest albums, LOVE and LOVE Part II, make the listener “feel good” which I agree with. Alter the Press states that their first album, We Don’t Need to Whisper, was an over dramatic effort which I disagree with. I think the album has a serious side but the instruments, voice and actual lyrics all flow nicely together. I think any Angels & Airwaves albums are worth getting and would put on a great show live if you got the chance to go.
