The movie, “The Ringer” came out in 2005 with current ratings of 5.7/10. This movie is about a young guy, Jonny Knoxville, who is forced to join the special Olympics to win a lump some of money because his Mexican lawn worker got his fingers chopped off in Steve’s lawn mower while trying to make some extra money on the side. So Steve, who goes by the name of Jeffy once he joins the Special Olympics, competes against all the other competitors. He realizes that it is not as easy as he thought it would be to beat the “retards” at field events. And in the end he makes friendships with all the other members and then at the end it takes a huge turn. So Johnny Knoxville or Jeffy in the movie is a caring, loving, and all around good friend even when it comes to competitions. Jeffy’s main motivation throughout the movie was to win the Special Olympics so he would be able to get his friends fingers sewed back on however through the course of the movie another one of his motivations I would say would be to make friends in the process of being in the Special Olympics. The theme in this movie I would say would be to not get to far ahead of yourself and don’t always expect to win. I would have to agree with the critics on this movie because most of the people’s reviews said that this was surprisingly a very good movie that was not offensive at all. I would have to say that buying this movie is most definitely worth your time as well as your money. This is an overall fantastic movie that will leave you laughing for hours and quoting the movie all the time. I have seen this movie multiple times and it is still as funny and entertaining as the first time I saw it.
