We all know the famous Elvis Aaron Presley the “King of Rock “n” Roll”. Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo Mississippi. Elvis twin brother Jessie Garon was stillborn Elvis then grew up as the only child. Elvis and his parents Vernon and Gladys Presley moved to Memphis Tennessee in 1948. Elvis graduated from Humes High School in 1953. When Elvis started his music career he sold over one billion records and 33 movies. Elvis moved a lot the only two things he really had were his family and his music. Elvis found music any way he could he would listen to music at church on the radio, he tough himself how to play the church piano when he was 8 years old. When he turned 11 years old his parents got him a guitar for his birthday. By the time Elvis graduated high school he was able to sing a various style of music from gospel to hillbilly. Elvis and a few other guys Moore and Black recorded their first song “That’s All Right (Mama)” Sam Phillips from Sun Records convinced friend to play it on the radio and it was an instant hit, so many people liked the song it got played fourteen times in a row. Elvis signed his first contract for four years with Sun Records on August 15, 1954. He made appearances on famous radios like Grand Ole Opry and Louisiana Hayride. When Elvis would play his music and dance the high school and college students went crazy for him and his music. Elvis would dance like no other white performer he would gyrated his hips, jiggle his legs and fell to his knees Elvis would have fun when he performed he would put his heart and soul into his performance. Elvis was so well liked that he needs to hire himself a manager, he hired “colonel” Tom Parker. Parker took advantage of Elvis over the years but Parker made Elvis in to the mega star he is. Sun Records sold Elvis contract to RCA Victor for $35,000 dollars. Elvis was making so much money he bought Graceland in March 1957, Graceland a mansion this is 13 acres of land for $102,500 dollars. Some of Elvis Presley tops songs are “Hound Dog “ released in 1956, “ All Shook Up” was released in 1957 it was the single top US pop music chard on April 13th. “Love Me Tender” was released in 1956 that song was recorded for a movie also called Love me Tender that Elvis played in.
