Lane’s review of the band “Seether” was spot on, discussing their heavy feel and dark lyrics. I also see the comparison between them and Three Days Grace and Nirvana, who also have a darker, heavier feel to their songs and albums. “Remedy,” one of their most popular songs Lane spoke of, is definitely one of their most popular because it’s one of the few I’ve heard, and I like the fast paced but still heavy metal style. I also enjoy their slower songs that have a specific message or meaning, not all of them have to be necessarily heavy. These are especially good if the meaning behind it can be related to, in which case it sticks out more than the other heavier songs and is more important to me, personally. Another big factor that I like about Seether is that they incorporate their current feelings into songs, as Lane said. Negative Spaces is a darker album due to Shaun’s brother’s suicide, but then their album Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray is more upbeat and of the rock style you’d expect. Seether is a solid band and an especially good group if you’re looking for the heavier rock style they put out.
