The movie Avatar is a great movie that has some of the best digital effects that have ever happened to on the big screen. Avatar combines these effects with real life action to create a movie that you’ll be sure to remember. I think the director James Cameron did a great job picking out the characters for this movie, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephan Land, and Michelle Rodriquez. They all do a fantastic job making the movie really come to life and really add that spark to make the movie feel very real and exciting. In this movie, Jake is a paraplegic Marine whose brother has been murdered so he decides to take his spot. He is then sent to the moon Pandora on orders to destroy their civilization. In return for his Intel for the Na’vi people the Spearhead unit will pay to get a spinal surgery so he can walk again. There he meets another alien that he quickly falls in love with named Neytiri who shows him all kinds of things from her world. In the end Jake has to pick between obeying his orders from the Colonel and saving the place that he really feels at home. I think in this movie Jake really enjoys being on this planet and being an Avatar because he has his mobility back and feels free. I believe that Sam Worthington did a great job at playing this part in the movie, he’s the kind of guy who seems like he’s a tough guy and on the outside he shows it but deep down he actually has feelings and wishes he could have mobility back and while in Pandora he really feels at home. The theme of this story is to always be grateful of what you have because the opening lines by Jake Sully are “When I was lying in the V.A. hospital with a big hole blown through the middle of my life, I started having these dreams of flying. I was free. But sooner or later, you always have to wake up.”. I believe that the theme really shows through a lot in the beginning and the end of the movie. 70% of the critics said that this movie was a good one and I would have to agree with them. The cost of the movie was a little spendy but it ended up being worth it in the end. Overall I think that this movie is completely worth your money and time. If you’re looking to watch a movie that is going to reach out and grab you right away this is the one!
