This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie was actually filmed in Italy, with the tree staring characters Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach. The rest of the cast was actually Italian peasants who worked as extras. The plot of the movie fades in and out as the movie goes on, during the (movie length) long movie multiple smaller short stories emerge and at the end come back together to mad an unforgettable ending. Clint Eastwood is portrayed as “The Good” in the movie while Lee Van Cleef is portrayed as “The Bad” which is ironic because his name in the movie is angle eyes and Eli Wallach is portrayed as “The Ugly” in reality all three of the characters are criminals. Clint plays as a greedy criminal saver who turns Eli in for a bounty and then saves him over and over just to get half of the bounty. Eli is portrayed as a dirty, grimy, and conscious less murderer. He always calls Clint “Blondie”. The main plot of the movie is that all tree characters hear about a large amount of gold that is buried in a civil war grave and they all want it but only Clint knows where it is. The whole movie is full of deceit and betrayal. Roger Ebert wrote a review on the Good the Bad and the Ugly and he said that it was a “pretty good movie”; I think he underestimated the movie; it was a GREAT movie for being filmed on a very small budget in Italy. Overall I think this movie is one of the best I have ever seen and completely suggest watching it.
