In 1971, in Alexandria, Virginia two white schools and one Black school had to integrate. Coach Bill Yoast head coach of the T.C. Williams High School football team is asked to step down, and Herman Boone is hired to replace him. The new coach is not welcomed very nicely. The integrated team is both black and white that don’t have any trust in one another at all. But Boone is willing to put a team on the field. His future depends on it. If he loses one game out of the season he will be fired as a result. Boone helps his team to eliminate distrust and misunderstanding of their coach and each other. Thought out the season they become a symbol of unity, and their quest to win a state championship. The main character Denzel Washington is playing the role of Herman Boone. I thought he did a great job playing him. As like all the other movies he is in. Will Patton playing Coach Bill Yoast. I also thought he did a job of playing him. Everyone is this film did a great job because it felt like the dialogue was real and the atmosphere of the movie was a very serious place to be and it dealt with racism so everything that was said was so real to me. One theme I would like to point out is a very good and important one. That one is to not judge a book by its cover. Rather than judging a person by he or she looks, judge him or her on their personality. I agree with the critics on the review of this movie. It was an outstanding movie but some of the supporting characters weren’t as good as I thought they would be. It would definitely be worth my money and time because it was a great movie and you learn a lot on how things were back them when we had strong hate towards African-Americans.
