Mark Wahlberg is the main character in Shooter. In the beginning of the movie he is on a sniping mission in Ethiopia. He and his partner were a banded by their squad. An enemy helicopter shoots and kills Bob Lee Swagger’s (Mark Wahlberg) spotter. Three years later a Colonel recruited him to help find a way that the U.S. President might get assassinated. With his experience Bob Lee was one of the best snipers around. He went to three cities to look for possible spots a sniper could hide to shoot the President. At one of the president speeches a shot is fired and Bob Lee Swagger is set up to look like the shooter. He steals an FBI car and tells the agent he was set up. Bob Lee is chased into the river and is able to escape. He drives to Kentucky where his partner’s fiancĂ©e lives. She helps him remove a bullet lodged in his chest. Swagger leaves and runs into the FBI agent he stole the car from. He believes that Bob Lee wasn’t the shooter and joins his side. Nick Memphis, the FBI agent, and Swagger plot revenge on the “Colonel” that set him up. They head to Colonels house with snipers and pipe bombs. The main actor in this movie is Mark Wahlberg. He is a great actor and this movie shows that. The FBI agent is Michael Pena. In the movie he is fresh out of the academy and he did a good job portraying that. In the film Mark Wahlberg is a very driven character. From beginning to end he always works his hardest to stay alive and to make people pay for what they did to him. The main theme in this movie is revenge. Mark Wahlberg knew he got set up so the whole time he is planning on revenge. I disagree with the movie review I researched. It said that Shooter moves to fast and leaves many questions unanswered. It’s a fast paced movie with a lot of action. If the director didn’t have it this way, it would not be half as good. I think Shooter is a great movie. If you like action movies, it’s definitely worth your time and money.
