One of my most favorite movies of all time is the movie The Transporter. The Transporter is a movie about Frank Martin, a self-employed package delivery man whom gets tied up in a mess with a girl. The girl is an Asian woman named Lai and she was found in the back of Frank’s car during a suspicious delivery. Frank decides that he doesn’t want to deliver “her” because it seems morally wrong to him. The man who was supposed to get the girl delivered to him gets mad, really mad and sends out a gang of thugs to take out Frank and get the girl back. Frank Martin and Lai together must survive the onslaught of enemies. Lai also tells Frank she needs help saving 2 semi-trucks loads of Chinese slaves from being put to slave work by her father. Thus, Frank Martin and Lai both go on an incredible adventure that includes lots of love, action, and deep struggles. Jason Statham plays as Frank Martin in the movie and he is all out amazing. Jason Statham did all his own stunts in the movie and even all the fight scenes. Qi Shu plays as Lai and she wasn’t very good of an actor. Frank Martin is a very self-determined man with his own set of unbreakable rules. No names, no changing the deal, and no opening the package. Lai is a lonely Asian girl whose father is the leader of an evil slavery organization. She wants to do everything she can to stop her father. The main theme I got from the movie is when someone is in need of help, you can be their angel. The critic Roger Ebert says that the movie has too much action and it leaves a repetitive story with minimal dialogue. I disagree with what Roger says because all the action in the movie is some of the best I’ve ever seen and the story is constantly changing. Dave Kehr from the New York Times says the movie isn’t very violent for so much action. I agree with this statement because in the movie Frank only uses hand-weapons and his fists, which means no guns and blood. If the viewer enjoys romance or action The Transporter is definitely a recommended movie. The Transporter is actually a trilogy too, so it’s definitely worth checking out since each movie gets better.
