Jack Johnson’s newest album Sleep through the Static has a different tone then his 3 last albums. Sleep through the Static includes songs that are more dark and deep such as sleep through the static, hope, if I had eyes, and monsoon. His older music had a more up beat and care free tone, bubbly toes, on and on, banana pancakes, and better together. Johnson’s first albums seem to come from more of a boy’s life type of experiences however sleep though the static shows a more mature and wiser man’s life experiences.
Jack’s music touches people in a different way, everyone who loved his old albums continue to love him and his new reached level in music. His music is mellow and touching. His music is sometimes the whole truth, nothing censored. He continues with this method of thought and meaning in his music making it new and part of the alternative genera. He keeps smooth rhythms which enhance his nature and life language. His acoustic feel incorporated in his mellow voice creates a piece of art.
His music is more mature in the sleep through the static then his goof ball old albums like on and on and in between dreams. Jack is a father of two and only 32 years old. His lines are simple and to the point. His careful choosing of words is what creates a song enjoyable to listen to; his music includes guitar and piano solos which keep up with the theme of his goofy but brutally honest lyrics. Johnson’s music is something everyone can relate to and involve events that happen in normal people’s everyday lives. Many criticize his music as cheesy or boring but Johnson’s music has exploded in the last few years and his fans fell in love with the sleep through the static album and will continue to follow him in music.
