Eminem is a well known rapper who provokes all different types of emotions. His lyrics are usually humorous and put you in a good mood, but other times the lyrics can be very angry and make you upset or put you in just an angry mood. His music is a lot different than many other artists because his songs are usually about totally random things. He then uses random words or punch lines that sound funny or rhyme with each other that lead the song to have different meanings to different people. Another way he is different from other artists is he usually tells stories that happened in his past and makes it in to a song, while most other artists just pick a random topic to sing about. For example, in Eminem’s song “My Mom” he describes how his mom was addicted to many drugs, including Valium, which had a great affect on him that led him to become who he is today and why he does the things he does. While another artist for example, Taylor Swift’s song “Love Story” is just about your typical love story you would see in Disney or something, rather than Eminem’s usual style of rapping about past events that have happened in his life. One lyric that is rather memorable to me is “You gonna ruin my career? You better get one,” in response to Nick Cannon’s blog explaining he would ruin Eminem’s career. I think it’s actually quite funny that Nick Cannon thinks he can win against Eminem. Eminem could literally slaughter Nick Cannon with his lyrics. I personally think Eminem’s album “Relapse” is very much worth your time and money. If you like fun beats, a sick flow, and lyrics that are either attacking someone (making the songs funny), or events in someone’s past, or even just random words that create some form of rhyme or alliteration, then I think buying this album would be very smart on your part.

  1. Reading this blog made me agree with most the things that it said about Eminem. He is a rapper indeed but not only does he rap for a living he also was successful in making his own record label called “Shady Records” and is also an actor and TV. Star as well. I also agree on the different types of emotions that Eminem raps about. One day he will rap about random and bizarre events, while the next day he will be writing about how tough his life is and that every day seems to be getting worse. In your blog that I read it compares Eminem to Taylor Swift. Eminem as we all know is a rapper so he is considered to be in the genre rap and hip-hop, on the other hand Taylor Swift is classified as being a pop and country singer. I believe that you should have choose a artist out of the same music genre as Eminem, off course you are going to get two very different feedbacks comparing the artists that you choose, I think it would be more accurate and smart if you were too use different artists like Lil Wayne or Jay-Z instead of Taylor swift to be compared. Another point in your article states that if Nick Cannon is going to ruin Eminem’s career. Both Eminem and Nick Cannon are popular and well known in the entertainment industry. Even though Eminem has been known and has been rapping longer then Cannon it doesn’t mean that Eminem would win. Both artists have great talent, but it truly isn’t up to the strongest one, it clearly is up too the fans of one another. One more agreement I have on this blog is that it is worth the money and time to go out and buy his CD’s. His newest album called “Relapse” is as deep as it sounds.
