AC/DC is one of my favorite hard rock bands. They are an Australian hard rock band who began the group in 1973. They are known for their songs about sex, drinking, and damnation. When people listen to AC/DC, they get a sense of anger and energy. The singer, Brian Johnson, has a screaming, wispy voice that makes it sound like he’s in rage. I honestly don’t think AC/DC sounds like any other rock band because of the singer’s voice, but they are commonly compared to groups like The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, or Led Zeppelin. They sings about the same topics but doesn’t sound the same. AC/DC is very different from rock bands like Boys Like Girls because Boys Like Girls uses high pitched notes, where as AC/DC is very monotone. “Back In Black” was released July 25, 1980 by the Australian rock band. This song is very memorable to me because it is my mother’s favorite song and it has also been on my volleyball warm-up CDs. So when I hear this song I think of playing volleyball, and the days that my mom would sing to this in the car. Critics from the Rolling Stone also think AC/DC is one of the best rock bands. They commented on how raw the music is while other bands are so clean and cut. AC/DC adds a texture to the vocals and uses bass and drums to make a unique hard rock feel to the group. I completely agree with the critics on their views of AC/DC. Although they’ve switch singers many times because of death or vocal weakness, the group is a strong unit and has made their mark in music history. For any age group, AC/DC is worth your time and money because of the raw music they play. They have sold 5 million copies of their last LP and continue to on success in the music industry. Obviously other people enjoy their music, and you will too.
