Adele, who grew up in London, sings mostly pop and rock songs. Adele is extremely talented when looking at the variety and ranges of her voice. She can sing many different types of music and mix them together in a certain way. Adele has a very full-throated and strong voice. Many emotions are involved in Adele’s music. Several of her songs evoke sadness in the listeners because her lyrics are mostly from her own personal experiences of heart break and disappointment. Some of her other songs are much more light and fun sounding. I don’t think that Adele could ever sing hip hop or R&B, like Mac Miller and Tyga do. I also think that Adele’s lyrics and songs come more from her heart and her true feelings, whereas someone like Chris Brown or David Guetta seem to sing about random, unimportant things just to sell songs. I think Adele is a lot like a country singer/band, such as Brad Paisley or the Eli Young Band, because her songs are more heartfelt and related to her life and feelings that she has. In her song, “Set Fire to The Rain,” I like this section of her lyrics: “I set fire to the rain, And I threw us into the flames, When I felt something die, 'Cause I knew that that was the last time, the last time.” I like these lyrics because she is setting fire to her sadness and getting rid of something that made her unhappy. All of the research I have seen has only praised Adele for her deep, hearty voice and interesting song lyrics and I completely agree with those critics. I think she’s a great singer and seems like a very fun, outgoing person. I would definitely say that Adele’s songs are worth our time and money. Her songs have a catchy beat, her lyrics are insightful, and her music all around makes you want to hear more. I would definitely spend money on an Adele concert or buying a lot of her songs!
