One individual I have always enjoyed listening to would have to be Wiz Khalifa. He’s a rap and hip-hop artist that has recently become a big hit in the United States and is still continuing to do so today. One of his most recent albums Rolling Papers showed a soft side to Wiz Khalifa. This album focuses mainly on just how to enjoy your life and live it up every day. One song from the album that I’m primarily focusing on is “When I’m Gone”. This song has a feel-good vide to it and for a long time was in the top charts on iTunes. Also it talks about Wiz Khalifa and his recent success which makes him a “champion”. Another well-known artist like Kid Cudi, also shares the same style type of music is most of his songs, songs that have that feel-good vibe about them. For example, the song “Cleveland is the reason”, is not only a feel-good song, but it also talks about Kid Cudi’s success so far and his hometown in Cleveland Ohio which helped his progress so far in his life. One particular song that stands out to me is “On my level”, because the idea behind that song is that as long as you are own your so-called own “level”, then nobody can stand in your way. The significance in this song is that it’s a confidence booster for just about anyone. It can help someone maybe get through a tough college assignment, or an argument with their parents. Critics’ opinions about his albums have not been the greatest. They feel that his songs incorporate good melodic beats, but that he is limited thematically and that his songs only talk about weed, women, and the good life. I would have to disagree with the critics’ about this statement because even though that may seem true about Wiz Khalifa, on the inside he is a true rapper and rapping is his main passion in life. Overall in my opinion Wiz Khalifa is a prime choice if you are primarily interested in rap hip-hop music that has a feel-good vibe to it. He is definitely worth your time and money, and if you don’t believe me then take a look at iTunes and to see how popular he really is. By far Wiz Khalifa is one of my favorite artists to listen to today.
