Trey Songz is a newly popular R&B artist that has made it big. To this day he has released four albums including I Gotta Make It, Trey day, Ready, and Passion, Pain and Pleasure. It has only been six years since his professional career has started and he has already made a huge impact on the musical industry. Songz’s music is typically categorized in the R&B genre, yet some of his songs have been considered rap. Many of his songs are about love and how he is able to treat a woman the right way. In his song “Can’t Help But Wait” the lyrics depict a scene in which Songz’s woman he is in love with is with another man that is not treating her as well as Songz could. Trey Songz is very relatable to other R&B artists such as Chris Brown and Usher. All three have the smooth voices that are pleasing to the ears. They sing a diverse range of songs, but they all most of the time involve a woman they love in their lyrics. Songz however stands out with his new name in the industry and ability to capture all audiences. “I Need A Girl” is one of Songz’s songs that really stands out to me. It is about how Songz is looking for a woman that he can share his life with. In the lyrics Songz describes how he is just looking for someone he can love and spend time with. He is able to meet all of her needs and treat her in the right way. On the other end of the spectrum his song “Say Ah” is another song that I can’t help but listen to. It is an upbeat pump up song that will get any party going. This song will put you in a great mood, ready to dance. I agree with many of the other critics that Trey Songz is believed to become one of the major artists in the music industry and his career is just starting. Personally I love Trey Songz and I believe is an amazing artist that I’m looking forward to hear more of. Trey Songz is an artist well worth your time and money. He is a force to be reckoned with and will provide very stiff competition to the other artists.
