Adele is a phenomenal new artist whose voice has blown millions away. Adele’s music is classified as pop, soul, blues and jazz. Adele has countless of songs that send shivers up your spine. Her unique and powerful voice creates vast emotions for anyone who listens to her. One of my favorite songs is “Someone Like You” from the album 21. I feel the song helps a lot of people with broken hearts and gives you the message that life goes on and not to dwell because you will find someone again. I find this is a very important message to give out to people because often time’s people dwell too much on past relationships. Adele is often compared to the British singer Amy Winehouse, who also has a jazz and blues music type feel. Both singers are from England and became famous at a very young age. Surprisingly, they both won Best New Artist at the Grammys too. However, I also find them very different too. Amy Winehouse has more of a raspy voice, where Adele has more of a smooth voice. Speaking of Adele’s voice, recently critics have been talking about Adele suffering from laryngitis. She will hopefully be getting surgery to help her overcome this illness. Critics also believe her being a cigarette smoker also might play a contribution to her having trouble with her vocals. Hopefully Adele quits soon because she has had to cancel all of her live dates and promotional appearances for the rest of the year. If that isn’t disappointing enough, Adele also had to cancel her sold out United States tour as well. Clearly fans find this news heartbreaking, but nonetheless Adele is still a huge hit. Her 21 album continues to overrule the Billboard 200. It’s been number one for thirteen weeks now, and this hasn’t been accomplished since the 1988 Titanic soundtrack. This is a fantastic accomplishment for anyone in the music industry. Adele is a down to earth artist, who is truly exquisite in my opinion. Whether you are belting out to one of her songs with your friends in a car or sitting alone in your room, she will give you a run for your money. Trust me if you take the time to listen to her, you won’t be disappointed.
