Country music is a popular American musical style that has been around since the
1920’s. I personally have fell in love with country music and many of the artists that come along with it. However, one artist that stands out in my mind is the talented and good looking cowboy, Kenny Chesney. Kenny Chesney’s heartwarming and relatable lyrics have grasped the hearts of millions. Kenny’s music style of rock, pop and country have earned him thirty Top Ten country singles and countless of awards throughout his career. Kenny has also earned platinum and multi-platinum Number One country albums. If this isn’t miraculous enough, this is just the beginning of it. Kenny Chesney has remarkably sold over 27 million albums, performed in NFL football stadiums, received four Country Music Associations and four consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Awards. Kenny Chesney clearly has made some pretty amazing accomplishments in his music career. A personal favorite song of mine is “There Goes My Life” from the album, When the sun goes down. This song is about a high school football player who finds out his girlfriend is pregnant. In the beginning of the song he claims his life is over and all of his dreams with it. Later in the song he is married to his girlfriend and loves his baby girl more than anything. This song is very relatable to anyone because it makes you think twice about your actions and that sometimes something good can come out of bad situations. Kenny Chesney is a phenomenal artist that I believe isn’t comparable to any artist out there. Nevertheless, most critics often compare him to the country artist Keith Urban. Both artists are similar in the respect that they both write their own music and have won countless awards. On the other hand, they also are very different when it comes to the tone and vocal range of their voices. When it comes to the critics review on Kenny Chesney, most love everything about him. Although some critics critique that it took him awhile to write a hit and reach stardom. It may have Kenny Chesney awhile to reach fame, but once Kenny did he blew everyone away. Kenny Chesney without a doubt is worth your time and money. His overall message in his lyrics is about living your life completely and just simply being happy. You won’t be disappointed after listening to him.
