Slumdog Millionaire is a movie about a guy named Jamal who finds a girl named Latika, who he falls in love with when he is a very young child. He has a brother named Salim who craves money and power. That being the main focus in Salim’s life, he is a very selfish person. Because of him Jamal and Latika are torn apart one night after escaping from a place where children are put out on the streets to beg people for money. To Salim it was just payback for a prank that Latika had done to him earlier, but to Jamal he lost a part of himself that night. Jamal spends years thinking of Latika and he finally sets out to find her once again. I think that each actor and actress does an amazing job playing their part in the movie. It is very believable. Each character is different. They all want different things. Jamal wants to find the love of his life, Latika, and live happily ever after with her. Salim wants money, power, and respect. Latika wants someone who will love her and be in a healthy relationship with the man of her dreams, Jamal. One theme in Slumdog Millionaire is love can overcome any obstacle. If it was meant to be it will happen. I agree with the critics when they say that the movie “bounces from one horror to the next.” The movie does show a lot of horrible events that happen to Jamal and Salim but all of the scenes are important in finding out who the characters are and what they value. I really like this movie and I will give it 5 out of 5 starts. It has romance, drama, and some action. It is the type of movie where you do not want to take your eyes off of the screen. It is worth the time and money for sure.

That train part was in Slumdog Millionaire was very sad indeed. Salim is an evil person to let Latika hands go because she pulled a prank on him. She was like the third Musketeer but Salim was just envious that Jamal and Latika just have a better relationship, so he wants to ruin it. I definitely agree that the actor and actress did a great job in this film. They did definitely have different characteristics in each and single one of time. Jamal is just a lost boy who all he wants is Latika, Salim is a greedy person who all he cares is money and power, and Latika who all she want is Jamal. They did an astonishing job playing that role so that us, the audience can understand and see what is going on. “Love can overcome any obstacle.” I think that is a great theme. It shows people how much people can triumph over if they are beyond doubt in love. Yes there was a lot of scary scene in the movie, for example, burning the child eyes was just disgusting and frightening, and they did a great job doing that scene. It is defiantly worth our time. I agree that this movie is a movie where we cannot take out eyes off because there is a story behind everything, so we cannot miss any details. I still don’t know if it is worth the money though, because it’s the type of movie that will get old. However, after seeing the ads on T.V and newspaper about Slumdog Millionaire is only $3 at Fleet Farm i believe? So maybe it wouldn’t be a bad investment to buy the DVD at that price.
