Slumdog Millionaire that came out in 2008 is about a boy named Jamal who is on a game show and he is accused of cheating and was arrested before he answers the last question. What people do not know is that all the questions that were asked during the game show are all connected to his life in some way. It showed the hardship and the tough times. Finally, the detective let Jamal go, and Jamal went back to the game show to answer the last question and you will not believe what happened next. Jamal did a great job at the end of the movie acting the role of 20 year old Jamal. What impressed me was that the little Jamal did amazing acting. He made it interesting and fun for viewer to watch. But what made it more interesting is Salim. Even though is the bad guy, he makes it interesting because in movies, it is not that interesting unless the director add different personalities and characteristics up. Another character that is interesting is Latika. With her being there, Jamal had a goal to go and find her so that adds excitement. Her acting was pretty good considered that she had to run from the bad guys in the train station. She did not make look cheesy unlike some movies where they go above and beyond and look like a psycho person rather than a scared person. What made the character unique are their different traits. For example, one of Jamal traits is that he is persistent. He came back for Latika when she was about to be sold off as a virgin, and when she was at the bad guy’s house, he still pretended to be a dishwasher just to see Latika. He did not even worried about if he was going to die or not. The theme is that money is not everything. It cannot buy a person happiness and love. I agree with the critics when they said that Slumdog Millionaire shows how India really is with all of the poverty and the reality of how life is for them. It is worth my time and money because it has what I look for when I pick out a movie. It keeps me interested and entertained.
