Ed Sheeran is an English man who is not one who gets bad reviews from critics or even social media. Many people like his music because it is quite relaxing most of the time. He is a pop/rock, and rap singer, who writes his own music and lyrics that relates to other artists and events. The kind of feels and emotions you get from Ed Sheerans album + makes you feel love, yearning, and also depressed sometimes, but also inspired. Sheerans songs compared to other artist are very unique and not like any others. They feel so real, and they all have great meaning to them. He puts his life into his music. He puts his feelings and emotions into his music and lyrics. He uses his guitar skills (which are SPECTACULAR) and his vocals to create his music. He creates music like no other that I know of. And I know A LOT of artists. One song that most people really remember and have feeling for is his song “The A-Team.” It is about a young drug-addicted prostitute and her struggles in the world. This is based on a true story about a girl that he knew about. Another song is called “Wake Me Up” that I believe many people would find boring in worthless, though you have to actually think about the story being the words. In this song, he only has a couple strums of the guitar for his music. It is about a relationship he actually had once, and all of the good things that happened in that relationship. It is really a beautiful song and it makes you feel relaxed and just plain good. Something the critics have said is something I disagree with. Here is the statement. “…a punishing live schedule that involved playing more than 300 gigs in 2009 alone, six self-released EPs and three albums in the last six years…” He said in a review that he really enjoyed doing those gigs because it made him and other happy and he knew he was getting somewhere with it. I also agree because I have seen some of his gigs and they were not “punishing.” Ed Sheeran and his music is VERY worth anyone’s time, and money. I listen to him when I read or I am scared during a thunder storm. He makes me feel good and relaxed and I wish I could thank him for it.

This is Sara Lado responding to Bria's post. I feel like i honestly feel like this blog was very accurate in portraying information on Ed Sheeran. I feel like when Ed Sheeran first came out he received all this love and support and appreciation of his amazing music and lyrical intelligence but nobody really knew what was happening behind closed doors which was all criticism. I heard once that even his producers would tell him to keep writing songs for other artists and not come out as his own individual artist because they were afraid that he wouldn’t fit the frame of what a popular pop artist would be like, which is honestly pretty sad to hear because all that should matter is how talented you are not how you look like or any of that superficial stuff but what’s sad is that this is how the real world sadly works, especially in the music industry. I agree that many people like his music because it is quite “relaxing most of the time” but I also feel like people really like his music because it’s so true and honest. His lyrics feel soo relatable and not forced upon any random beat that’s playing, every song is unique and of it’s own.
