Eminem is considered to be one of the greatest rappers in the world. He has a very fast-paced style of rapping and has creative lyrics. Back in the early 2000’s he took on the persona of slim shady. He made many funny and controversial songs, and towards the end of the 2000, he started making more songs talking about his life. His newest album Recovery has the best of both worlds. He has songs like “Almost Famous”, and “cold wind blows” that are more in line with his old style. He also has songs that talk about his life like “Your never over” which tells about his longtime friend proof who was killed in 2006. In an article that was written on July 2nd 2010 titled “Eminem, 'Recovery' (Shady/Aftermath/ Interscope)” it is said that “Em is still in the process of reassembling his shattered personality -- trying things on, throwing things away. He's unsure of whom he wants to be, both as an MC and as a man -- and it shows”. I don’t agree with this personally because I thought this was one of his best albums because it had many great songs. He has a new album coming out November 5th called The Marshall Mathers LP 2. A few of the songs have been released. Eminem has been receiving some criticism about the song “rap god” saying that he’s homophobic which is the same response he got when he released the song “criminal” in 2000. Personally I don’t agree with all the hate because words mean different things to different people. Another of the songs in his newest album is “Survival. In an article that was written on August 14 2013 titled “Eminem Detonates New Single 'Survival' in 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' Trailer” It is said that “The hard-grinding "Survival" features an anthemic, guitar-looping beat and the raw rhyme skills of Marshall Mathers, who comes out swinging”. I definitely agree with this, and think that Eminem stepped up his game with this song.
