Rick Ross is classified as one of the more “gangster” rapper these days. Ross’s music is generally in the rap and hip hop genre. In the song "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)," Ross raps about how he is like Big Meech or Larry Hover, who are both incarcerated gang leaders. His songs have a hardcore, thuggish, and from the streets kind of feelings to it. Emotions of living in the streets and being a gangster are evoked. When comparing Rick Ross to Taylor Swift, Ross is clearly more dominate in the African American community. Appearance wise, Rick Ross is attracted to more of the blings and fancy cars, where Taylor Swift, tends to wear dresses and glossy elegant clothing. Music wise, Rick Ross is a rapper and raps hardcore. Taylor’s music on the other hand is more in the country genre, and usually has soft melodies to it. Whether Ross is a hardcore rapper or Taylor Swift is a country singer, what they both have in common is that they are one of the best out there. One of Rick Ross’s songs that was memorable is called “Hustlin”. It was memorable because it was one of the first hit songs he came up with. He talked about how he came up from the streets and how he had to hustle everyday to survive. Young kids really enjoyed that song because they related to it, and it also gave them hope on making it big someday. Critics say that Rick Ross’s new album Teflon Don is one of the best albums of his career. I agree with that because before this album Rick Ross rapped about things that you would only see in the ghetto. Over the past few years, that has changed into easy going music where many people can relate to. Overall I believe Rick Ross is actually one of the best out there because of his hardcore inspiring music, and I believe it is worth our time and money.
