Another movie that I have chosen to write about is The Town. This is a movie about a man, Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) who is a Boston bank robber. Him and his friends rob banks and armored cars for a living and are really good at it. His friend, Jem (Jeremy Renner) is not only his partner in crime but is also like a brother to him. He is one of the most interesting characters because you never know what he is going to do next. He is very impulsive. During one of their robberies they take a hostage, Claire (Rebecca Hall) , who they let go. Later they follow her to see if she remembers them as being the ones who robbed her bank. Hall does a great job at portraying Claire, who falls in love with Doug and in the end tries to convince him to leave the dark side of crime and be with her. As Doug falls for Claire he is faced with the decision of quitting his life of crime to have a normal life with Claire or staying true to his bank robber “family”. The theme of this movie is about starting over after doing bad things in life. People deserve to have a second chance to make their lives better. I agree with most of the critics on that this movie was really well done by Ben Affleck. He finds creative ways to tell his story and the actors and actresses do a great job of portraying conflict and reality. I would recommend you see this movie if you like a good action thriller. The ending is especially good and non predictable so you must go see it.
